Hi, am still relatively new to the whole mn thing - started posting last week after my first pregnancy ended in mc. Special hello to Azure and Mrsflowerpot - thanks for your messages on the other thread . Been having a look over this thread the last couple of days, and I was glad to see your message Cobweb, I've been feeling the same in terms of thinking about ttc again so soon. Still feeling up and down about mc, dh has been great - both decided just to carry on with ttc but feeling guilty for wanting to get on - both really desparate to start family - stubborness really kicked in after GP told me we really should wait 6 months before tcc again. Not expecting anything to happen soon, but thought I'd come across and join (if that's ok), af should be due on the 9th but not sure as first cycle after mc. Not normally on-line this late, but have been having lazy night with dh and a dvd.

Tania2 · 02/08/2004 07:31

Welcome Twiga, sorry to hear of mc hopefully you will pg soon.
Question... Dh hasn't had a sperm test done yet (never seems to get around to it!!) just wondering though if he has a low sperm count what to the doc's do? he is already taking zinc.

tex111 · 02/08/2004 07:50

Congrats Mosegirl!! Great news.

Welcome Twiga. Very sorry to hear about your m/c. There are a few of us on here ttc after a m/c, so you're definitely not alone. Did your doc say why you should wait 6 mons before ttc again? I think most of us were told to wait just until after one period. I had a D&C on 18 June and I started my first period about 5 weeks later so it was only a few days longer than a normal cycle for me. Hope you're feeling well and best of luck to you!

According to OPKs and my fertility software I'm now 2DPO. We only managed to bd twice but I think we timed it well. We worked in the garden all weekend and were just too exhausted!

Azure · 02/08/2004 09:03

Twiga welcome to the thread. I can't see any reason for waiting to ttc for 6 months after a m/c, especially as you're meant to be more fertile immediately afterwards. Don't feel guilty about wanting to get on - you will always remember the loss you had (for good or bad). CD 17 for me today, but frustratingly I don't know when / if I ov'd. I messed up the OPK on both days 14 and 15, my prime ov time, and my Persona has gone very strange (my fault - I didn't press the button at the right time due to being on holiday a while back).

Malinki and ShouldknowbyFriday - any news?

From what GP said six months was to allow for time physically and emotionally before trying again. I think he's just being cautious as the early pregnancy unit that scanned me to confirm miscarriage said to start trying once we were ready - no time given. It's all a bit confusing, we're taking it easy just now and I've carried on taking my folic acid anyway. Even the idea of waiting one cycle feels like an eternity just now!

Azure · 02/08/2004 09:15

Twiga, I would follow your instincts and ignore your GP.

Sorry to be a pain, can someone fill me in on what CD is short for (other than compact disc, coz I'm sure they're not a reliable conception aid ) - can't find on list, still new to this whole message thing.

tex111 · 02/08/2004 09:20

That's 'Cycle Day' as in how many days into your menstrual cycle. The first day of your period is CD1. You'll also dpo which is 'days post ovulation'. So confusing isn't it! Took me ages to work it all out.

Bibi20 · 02/08/2004 09:35

Well, the good news is that I didn't O over the weekend whilst my dh was away... the bad news is that I'm now going away for work for a couple of days - arghhh! Seriously considered refusing to go, but 'I'm ovulating' didn't seem to be a good enough reason?!
Forced dh to perform this morning before work - he was genuinely unhappy about it (he was never a 'morning' person even in the very early days of being together IYKWIM ) but managed it in the end (at least he can laugh and admit how ridiculous it is that I have to persuade him to bd and do all the work when it's not just me that wants a baby)

Congratulations Mosegirl and Seabird and welcome Twiga.

Runtus, so sorry to read about your dh's friend, what a tragedy, so sad and truly thought provoking.

This thread is very long now, but it's been so lucky not sure we should start another?!!

Bibi20 · 02/08/2004 09:36

P.S.

The starflower oil etc. seems to be working - have had proper 'eggwhite' for the first time since ttc!!

malinki · 02/08/2004 09:37

AF arrived in the early hours of this morning , HSG is sometime this week, just waiting for the hospital to call me back with a time etc , I think I'm going to become a man , having a bad day and its only 9.35am , going to get some chocolate from the sweetie machine and totally pig out at my desk , so back to square one, sorry CD1

katierocket · 02/08/2004 09:39

ok so I'm on CD12 (of 28 day cycle). is it best to bd every day for next 3 days or every other day do you think?

Twiga · 02/08/2004 09:39

Azure - this is probably old news but it might be helpful in helping work out the ovulation thing just now: look at www.babycentre.co.uk{} they have an ovulation calculator under interactive tools - just need to put in date of last period and cycle length - works out ovulation dates/due dates. We've not been doing anything much to work out ovulation dates but have given ourselves a rough idea from this in the past (not sure if I've put this link in right but the address is correct).

katierocket · 02/08/2004 09:40

oh poor you malinki.

Twiga · 02/08/2004 09:55

Fingers crossed for this cycle malinki, hope your day cheers up - Hugs {{{}}}

mitzi · 02/08/2004 10:24

congratulations seabird and mosesgirl great news.Sorry about af malinki.well Im on cd22 did quite a lot of bd this month not all for ttc but some for pleasure too.so fingers crossed, hope everyone else is staying positive .

Piffleoffagus · 02/08/2004 10:32

Sorry too Malinki, what a torrid time you're having xx

Flet the big Ov pains yesterday, first tiem in a few cycles I have had them so welcome, if not a bit ouchy...
So am hoping to make the most of this over the next few days and see what happens...
Good luck everyone else too!

runtus · 02/08/2004 13:44

Sorry about af Malinki, maybe we can be more lucky this month

I won £10 on the lottery this week and I've decided to take it as a good omen. So many bad things happened last month, it must be about time for some good old fashioned good luck!

Seabird · 02/08/2004 14:21

oh dear sorry to hear that Malinki . Hope you're feeling a bit better this afternoon.

Katierocket I would just go for it I think FF suggests BD every other day in the run up to ov and then every day around the time you think you are actually ovulating.

Hope last Sunday's blue moon brings everyone lots of luck!

malinki · 02/08/2004 14:24

Well, spoke to the hospital again, they have booked my day 16 follicle tracing (day 8 & 12 were days too early according to Gynie) and guess what, they can't fit me in this week for my HSG, so another month has to go by, I'm actually very , so I now have to wait until AF arrives next month, looks like I'm heading for the sweetie machine again , infact I really am (not that I'm the only one going through this, but everytime something happens and I'm fed up, this ttc lark is just dragging on and on and on etc etc

mrsflowerpot · 02/08/2004 14:32

sorry you're having such a rotten day malinki. on your behalf.

Congratulations seabird and mosegirl - good luck to both of you for your pgs.

I'm back on line proper now after a week lurking - at my mum's and didn't want to get 'caught' as they don't know we're ttc again. CD23 of (28-30) today, however, managed to go away from dh absolutely mid-cycle this month so not too hopeful.

Tessiebear · 02/08/2004 14:35

Hi all, I often take a look at this thread to see how u are all doing. A quich question, i am not TTC (although i may be in a few months) but i was wondering If you have a 28-30 day cycle, pressuming the first day of your cycle is the day you start bleeding - do you ovulate approximately day 14 - 15 (half way through your cycle)????? Any advice on when this is would be most appreciated

lostinparis · 02/08/2004 14:45

Tessiebear - I'd start charting on fertility friend now so that when you do start ttc you'll have a really good idea when ovln is.

Tessiebear · 02/08/2004 19:04

Is Fertility friend a website / chart????
