Come and join me in this new thread. I want a least one graduate per week and no ttcing to take longer than two months for everyone here!!

ChaCha · 28/07/2004 15:59

Thanks for the advice Azure, if there is another BFN (which of course there will be this month) I will call my specialist and ask if i can take that. Great

Congrats Seabird. It must be an amazing feeling. I really cant wait for my first pregnancy..

Hugs to all, Hi BeckiF, glad to see you here today!

BeckiF · 28/07/2004 16:43

Hi ChaCha - feeling sorry for myself with the throbby left boob and I have been sick today and am fed up with people asking me 'ARE YOU PREGNANT'?!!! Going to up my Met on Friday but I feel like there is a hormonal stirring within, so hopefully it's worth it. Anyway, off home soon to do my weekly Immac on the beard (bloody PCOS )

hester · 28/07/2004 19:18

Well done Seabird

bluestar · 28/07/2004 20:10

Seabird, Congratulations
Azure, your thread is going very well!! Hopefully you & I can make it on this one too!
Got a positive OPK this morning so have some plans for this evening .

runtus · 29/07/2004 08:17

Morning Piffleoffagus, glad you can join us!

In answer to your questions (and I'm quite new to this myself) as far as I can tell it is best to bd every other night to allow the sperm to regenerate and then to try to remain stationary for about 20 mins (legs in the air optional!)afterwards.

I find the staying still increasingly hard I have to admit and the urge to 'clean up' as it were is hard to ignore (apols if TMI ) but I guess it will all be worth it in the end!

Tex111 · 29/07/2004 08:36

Morning all! Piffleafagus, I agree with runtus but they do say you can bd every night around O time (if you're feeling energetic). The staying in bed bit can be a pain and we didn't do that last time we got PG but I think it helps.

Not much going on here. CD9 so I should be getting ready to O. Going to get an OPK today.

Azure · 29/07/2004 09:19

Piffleofagus (what is that name about??) lying down with a pillow under your bum for 20 minutes after BDing (or with your legs in the air, as already suggested) is meant to help, tedious though it is. Bluestar, yes I hope we make it on this thread too, with everyone else of course.

OP posts:
Piffleoffagus · 29/07/2004 09:54

Am so sure I cannot do the legs in the air, dh would wet himself laughing at me...
But will do the stay still for 20 minutes afterwards...
Every 2nd night it is then LOL Dh will be happy!
the name is taken from when dh used to stammer/stutter when drunk. It was his way fo teling people to pee off...

I'm nice underneath though...

runtus · 29/07/2004 10:52

I had exactly that rection when I first started ttc, gales of laughter and cries of 'you aren't really going to do that are you??'when I put my legs in the air! I have to admit I felt like an utter nut but if it works for others....

Now it has scarily become the norm and if I don't jump into position I get a reminder

Azure · 29/07/2004 11:17

I admit I just can't do legs in the air (such an amusing image) but do discretely slip the pillow underneath. DH thinks it's a load of old nonsense, but given that he's never read a book, spoke to someone else or (God forbid) read Mumsnet about ttcing, what does he know?

OP posts:
Tania2 · 29/07/2004 11:18

It was suggested by my gyno to bd every second day around ov and that doesn't seem to be working as yet. the past 3 months (after i got told that i have to wait on the list till early next year for my laperoscopy to be done, to see if my tubes are blocked) i have been doing the ov test. I rang the company with some questions and they suggested that we bd as much as we can around ov time their words "the more fresh sperm the better". So its basicly "fill me up baby!!!" gross hey!! so last week we bd that much that iam still scared to cough or sneeze!!

MoseGirl · 29/07/2004 18:03

Hi mumsnetters! I know I've been rather aloof but I have been trying NOT to think about getting PG. Impossible! Anyway went away with DH as he was working away over my suspected OV (theres more than one way to skin a cat) and we BD as much as possible.

About a week ago I had this terrible pain in my groin and gave in this week and went to the doc. Felt like a pulled muscle. By the way I was a day late but thats not unusual, however did PG test and it was BFN.
I was sent to BUPA today for an ultrasound to look for a possible cyst and guess what! urine test done during scan said BFP!!!! OMG!

Can't quite believe it, DH was with me when they told us and we both cried! Still in shock!

I suppose I need to work out dates now...any ideas - LMP was 20 June, cycle length 36 days.

Thanks for all your support!!! xx

ChaCha · 29/07/2004 18:33

Massive congratulations Mosegirl, what a way to find out! Fingers crossed for you Shouldknowbyfriday, sounds like you've got some good signs going

I'm on cd4 and already I can forsee a disappointing month agead. Dh has been ill for about 3 weeks with serious food poisoning which doesn't seem to be going away (back at dr's again today..) and we are both totally knackered all the time from work. To top that and this truely is horrible, his boss (and friend) has just died at the age of 32. Discovered he had a brain tumour when he collapsed on the flight back from his stag do last weekend. We were supposed to be going to the wedding tomorrow. How sad is that? Really does make you grateful for what you've got and how fortunate we all are.

So we are both a bit shell shocked and I really can't see how anything productive will come of this month, but all I can do is hope

malinki · 30/07/2004 08:44

Mosegirl, well done you
Another graduation, this thread is going baby dust mad

On another note CD32, AF pains all week, but no AF, very tired, but that can all be signs of AF coming, gone off alot of food though, and I love food, so don't know what that is all about, I'm going to test next week if AF hasn't arrived, as my cycles are between 29-36 days now (thanks to clomid), if AF does arrive I have to have a HSG

Has anyone had a HSG and did it hurt, my Gynie says it can hurt

malinki · 30/07/2004 08:45

Beckif - How are you today, still feeling sick, what is your CD, have you done a test to make sure your not PG!!! (sorry if I sound like a mum)

Azure · 30/07/2004 10:07

Wow, many congratulations Mosegirl . Based on just your LMP your due date is March 27th, but using a caculator based on LMP plus cycle length gives April 4th (I googled Due Date Calculator). Runtus, what an awfully sad story about your dh's boss - it really does make you count your blessings. CD 14 here, but I messed up my pissy stick this morning (bad aim ) and don't know whether I've ovulated yet. Malinki and Shouldknowbyfriday - best of luck. Try not to test until next week, as we've already got our fair share of graduates this week!

OP posts:
MoseGirl · 30/07/2004 10:41

Thank you everyone for your kind messages and I just hope this pain around my ovaries is not a bad sign??? No other symptoms at all apart from no AF so still questioning whether I really am??

I see what you mean about the due dates Azure, not sure whether I should be starting a due April thread or not. I guess its close enogh

Baby dust to everyone else and hope you'll join me soon xx

ChaCha · 30/07/2004 13:02

Oh, Runtus, am sorry to hear about that. You are so right, we are so fortunate and we dont even know it at times. Hope this is your month just the same

CD18 today

strawberry · 30/07/2004 13:20

I am on day 22 now and have had some spotting on/off since yesterday. Bit worried as this happened with last pg that ended in mc but did not happen with ds (although did have some spotting at week 8 of pg with ds). Could this be an implantation bleed? When might an an implantation bleed happen and for how long? Bit of an erratic cycle so never sure what's going on and when!

BeckiF · 30/07/2004 17:15

Hi - sickness has subsided but still a throbby left boob! Malinki, CD is 280-ish, I've stopped counting. Up to 4 Met today. Took a test in the week and got the usual BFN . Still feel like my body is doing something, maybe it's the Met working. I've also found that I tend to feel icky at what would be a fertile time so we've been doing the deed despite how I feel!

I've had a HSG, got myself in a right state but can state truthfully that other than a slight cramp that took me by surprise when they introduce the liquid it was fine. The thought is worse than the thing itself. I was also sore down there for a few days, but it's fine. Not even worth stressing about in my opinion and I am SUCH a wimp!

hester · 30/07/2004 18:14

Huge congratulations Mosegirl

Malinki, I'm the biggest wimp in the world (beat you, BeckiF) and I can assure you that an HSG isn't too bad. It's not very pleasant, but no worse than having a minor filling, and I certainly wouldn't lose sleep if I had to have another one. Two things helped: I took painkillers an hour in advance (on their advice), and I had a nurse holding my hand throughout, which did help me relax. Don't worry about it and good luck.

bluestar · 31/07/2004 13:56

Congratulations Mosegirl , wish you lots of luck and healthy pregnancy.

Runtus, sorry about your dh and the sad news of his friend. Makes you put things in perspective.

I've had my positive OPKs and so far have bd 2 out of 3 days and going for one more for luck tonight!! With the redundancy/job stuff going on this month, it would be nice to have some good news.

Keep up the good work girls, more positives next week!
