So yet again, af has got me. Brown spotting this morning after a cycle where I was actually genuinely convinced I'd done it this time. Oh well.

Only on month 5 of actively trying. I'm ttc no2. I'm awaiting a referral for a hospital appointment to investigate scarring in my uterus so every month that goes by without a pregnancy, the more I can't deny that there's obviously something wrong (I've conceived twice, both just after a missed pill so 5 months is long in comparison!)

Just thought I'd say hi and hope THIS might be our month and we have a chance at a baby in 2018 instead :)

blue i tried preseed the last time which probably a similar thing. Haven't bought anything this time but now I'm thinking I should!

Joeybee · 20/04/2017 07:56

I'm wondering how often you guys are doing the baby dance?
I've read conflicting things - some websites say every other day is best, other places I've read every day during 'fertile window' is best.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 20/04/2017 08:07

juney i believe its pretty much the same thing!? Did preseed come with an applicatior thing? Did you like it? The conceive plus I've ordered is just a tube which it says "use along side out internal applicatiors" which i don't wanna buy as they are like 3 x4g for £10... do you think i could suck some up with an old Calpol syringe instead?

Joey we have started dtd everyother day from yesterday cd5 (af just left) and then will start every day in fw..or until after i get a definate positive on opk.I'm trying to be more fun this time though spice things up because last cycle it was abit regimented and it was abit crap 😂 we've finally put dd in her own room last week so it was great to have sex in bed for once haha.

Xx

Cariad2017 · 20/04/2017 08:08

Joey - I think the advice is that how often you should dtd depends on the quality of the sperm. If it's top notch, then dtd every day should be fine. If not, then every other day might be preferable.

We've dtd every day of the fertile window for the past four cycles and got precisely nowhere so are aiming for a few more days off this time around. Ironically, all 3 of my previous pregnancies (I've only had one successful one) happened as a result of dtd on the day of ov, when we hadn't (generally unintentionally) dtd the previous day, so this strategy may well be better for us. It's all a bit trial and error I'm afraid, but I'd try not to stress too much about it, and the reality is that dtd every 2 days should be enough.

Cariad2017 · 20/04/2017 08:26

Can anyone help me with a where am I at in my cycle query? Currently on CD11 and I typically ov anywhere between CD10 and CD15.

This cycle I had loads of EWCM up until CD 10 but no positive opk. Yesterday, I managed to ruin my first OPK so it couldn't be read. I tested late-morning and had a medium positive. This morning, the test line on my OPK was darker than the control, however, my CBFM still thinks I'm "high" rather than at "peak" which I suspect means that it missed the surge yesterday morning. I think there's a high likelihood I will ovulate today/ tomorrow (as historically, I've always found OPKs to be a very reliable indicator) but I have literally no EWCM (and haven't had any since yesterday morning)...

What do you think ladies?

Cariad2017 · 20/04/2017 08:29

Just to add that we dtd CD8 and CD9 missed yesterday (as I assumed ov was still a few days off) and will aim to dtd tonight and over the next 2 days hoping it's not too late

TriJo · 20/04/2017 09:18

DTD on CD13, will try and get in a few more over the next couple of days (today is CD15, we were a bit cockblocked last night by our 1 year old deciding that staying awake until 11:30 was the craic).

Timpani · 20/04/2017 09:32

Officially here as CD1!

juneybean · 20/04/2017 09:53

blue the preseed did come with applicators but they were not dissimilar to a calpol syringe so you could definitely use that!

I found it okay, I tended to put it in about 20 minutes before so it could warm up.

Cookie1831 · 20/04/2017 10:55

LOL at cockblocked Grin
CD 15 and still neg OPK but that makes sense as long cycles, have just started some more supplements after a bit of research uniquinol is meant to be good for general energy levels but also some reports of better egg quality so will see what happens, we only usually DTD twice a week rarely more than that but have conceived 3 times before that way so will stick with that for now x

Cookie1831 · 20/04/2017 10:56

Sorry typo ubiquinol

Cookie1831 · 20/04/2017 10:59

Yeah you could have missed it cariad but i am no expert x

Cookie1831 · 20/04/2017 11:01

But the swimmers from CD 9 should still be around I imagine?
Sorry for the 4 posts guys not bright enough to put all in one today zzzzz

CinnamonSwirlGirl85 · 20/04/2017 13:19

Joey - As Cariad said, it mostly depends on the sperm. We were advised by the fertility clinic to do it every 2-3 days. We'd been doing it once or twice a day over the FW thinking that would give us more of a chance, but it turned out it was doing the opposite!

pebble82 · 20/04/2017 16:31

Just checking in. Getting so impatient and only about 3/4DPO.

First month doing OPKs. I have annoyingly long cycles so got my positive smiley face on CD21. We DTD CD18, 21, 22 - I wanted to on CD20 too but we had people staying so was a bit awkward. CD23 DH refused because he "wasn't in the mood" - really annoyed me because throughout the month he's borderline annoying but as soon as it matters he's too tired. argh!!

I assume as the OPKs pick up the LH surge then we did catch the two most fertile days - just hope I didn't ovulate late (CD23/24) as we might have missed it. Or equally I hope the OPK didn't catch the end of a surge as only testing once a day at 7am. If so our efforts on CD21(pm) and CD22 (pm) may have been after ovulation.

10 looooong days left until test day....

lookatthemoon · 20/04/2017 16:36

I'm also 3dpo Pebble and already it seems like an age. Your dtd dates sound good to me! I think the important thing is that there is some good sperm there to meet the egg, not that you do it exactly as the egg is released.

Maybebaby2 · 20/04/2017 18:22

Yesterday Cd 11 opk had strong line but not positive, today cd12 got a negative opk. Im thinking I might have missed the surge?

We dtd Cd 7, Cd 9 and Cd 11 so hopefully will have caught it if I've ov'd already!

Question is do we dtd again tonight just incase we're at the end of the FW? Dh might not be too keen as we dtd yesterday and he says there needs to be a days recovery for his swimmers!

Ava1985 · 20/04/2017 18:28

Just checking in with everyone!

pebble your cycle must be similar in length to mine. I usually ov anywhere between cd19-20odd! Your dates for Dtd sound spot on though so good luck!

Cd13 here and did an opk for the hell of it! Was negative as expected Sad line was quite dark though so I think next week may be the week I get my surge but dh is away monday-Thursday Sad so I'm praying I ov from Thursday onwards (hope your listening, eggs 😂) X

Maybebaby2 · 20/04/2017 18:35

Lol Ava, are you listening eggs? Would be great if we could tell them what to do an exactly when to o! 😂 Wishing you luck for your post Thurs ov 👍👍

pebble82 · 20/04/2017 20:48

Those of you looking at opk lines, with DD I only ever got a slightly darker line (never darker than the control line) on cheapie opks the month I got bfp so your darker ones might be positives. It was only in hindsight I knew it had shown a positive.

From testing this time with expensive CB digital opks the day before my smiley face was a really faint line (you can see the lines when ejecting the test stick). As was the day after. The day of the positive was very dark. So the surge isn't a slow build up, the intensity of the line happens suddenly.

BlueeSpottyTiger · 20/04/2017 21:05

I agree with that pebble however i did notice a slight build up. It started almost unnoticeable and gradually got darker.. never dark enough to wonder if it was positive iyswim. Then all of a sudden it was darker than the control and that was within the space of 10hours xx

Maybebaby2 · 20/04/2017 21:21

Yeah I guess I have to do a couple more cycles using opks to get to know what to expect properly.
Last cycle I had faint lines for a couple days then a dark line but not as dark as control line, next day was darker than control line and then they went back to faint. So it to was really easy to read.
I expected the same to happen this cycle! 😂

otters2017 · 21/04/2017 06:22

Hi everyone. Cd 18 here. Been getting flashing smileys on CBFM since cd15 not sure if I'm going to ovulate this cycle! Frustratingly I only have 1 test stick left so hope I get my static smiley tomorrow. Wonder if I should order ic opks online just in case. Do you test in the morning or afternoon with the ic opks?

Maybebaby2 · 21/04/2017 07:55

Otters I think you can test anytime with internet cheapies just not with your fmu this is because the lh levels are higher in the concentrated fmu and can give a false positive, so it's better to test between 10am and 8pm. I think that's the correct guidelines.

boatrace30 · 21/04/2017 08:03

Anyone with experience of temping... I've been ill a few days ago (Sunday-Tuesday). So have discarded Tom those temps as they were super high. But now my temp seems to have settled above where my cover line usually is. Do you think it will just take days to get back to normal and does that make temping for the rest of the cycle inaccurate?
I'm sure I haven't ovulated as I'm cd12 and usually ovulate around cd25-30
