I'm so sorry Holly. I'm testing tomorrow but pretty certain I'll be joining you

Elly1685 · 17/05/2017 13:34

Sorry to hear that holly :(

I've just got home from work early after having a mild emotional breakdown in front of my manager - rand the fc at lunch time to explain I was cd3, taken clomid on cd2 as it said on my pack and could I book day 10 scan..... the woman was quite rude and said 'so you've taken clomid? Why didn't you ring on cd1 for a baseline?' .... I replied 'a what?' She said 'well if you'd rang on day 1 like you were meant to then we would have got you in for a scan to tell you what days to take your clomid. I tried to explain I didn't know anything about this - just the day 10 scan and the clomid on days 2-6 but she was having none of it. So I've had to leave work early, and am now preparing for a 1.5 hour drive there for a scan that I'm worried about because they might tell me I've done it all wrong and to make matters worse my af has stopped since last night so I don't actually know what's going on now and what can be done about the clomid I've taken Sad

SummerHopin · 17/05/2017 14:00

@Elly thats horrible for the woman to be that way with you. I had one baseline scan right at the very beginning but that was actually done on day 2 and on the first day of clomid so 24 hours wont have made that much difference.

At least you're booked in to see them which is the main thing. You can only do as instructed so try and trust in their knowledge in that they will tell you what you will need to do.

ALso, my periods were approx 1.5-2 days long so I always felt I was finishing just as I was starting. Again, not a problem, confirmed by the nurse - you might have just had a short bleed. They will tell you more from the scan. FX for you x

Elly1685 · 17/05/2017 14:13

Thanks summer - today was the first day I've actually cried about the whole thing - because I know how hard I'm trying to get it right and her attitude was appalling so now I'm really nervous about what they might say to me.

It's good to know about your cycle being really short - maybe that's the case with me. There is blood when I wipe but it's stopped as a flow now - i just don't want to get there and them say 'you haven't even properly started on cd1 yet ...' which is my biggest fear .... what are they looking for in this scan?

SummerHopin · 17/05/2017 14:34

A baseline scan will hopefully show a thin lining (as its breaking down) and all your follicles will be tiny because there is no egg growing. A cyst and a follicle look the same a lot of the time so if you have any big follicles at a baseline scan this is a cyst.

When I had my baseline they saw that my lining was thin, the uterus had no strange masses in it and I had lots of tiny follicles but no larger ones that they would have classed as cysts. I had 25-30 follicles on each side which is classic PCOS but not a problem. It was over pretty quickly and we then discussed that I should take clomid that night (which was the night of day 2).

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/05/2017 15:06

I'd complain about her nasty attitude on the phone! Silly bint! I'm sure you haven't done anything wrong Elly and you'll be able to continue taking clomid. Good luck x

Iamchanging · 17/05/2017 17:43

That's horrible Elly - so sorry they treated you like that. I've never even had a baseline scan mentioned to me, so don't know how they expect you to just know these things!

Infertility123 · 17/05/2017 19:14

Holly sorry it's not month for you😢. They have told us there is nothing they can do for low sperm count. Lifestyle changes can help but it takes 3 months to make sperm so ones changes have been adopted you have to wait 3 months to re-do a SA. My Husband is trying to stop smoking but finding it hard. Because of his SA results they refuse to treat me with Clomid and recommended ICSI IVF, at least they aren't giving us false hope. We will still keep trying untill we can afford ICSI IVF.

We went for our first counselling session today which was good. It gave us a chance to get stuff off our chest that we don't talk to others about as they don't understand. I discussed my constant breakdowns and how I have anxieties about what other people think of me being so weak all of the time. She said I am allowed to be weak, the fertility journey is very difficult and I need to stop worrying about what other people think as I cannot control other peoples thoughts however I can.manage how I deal with what other people think and to try and not worry about them and concentrate on living my own life as people will always have a view and opinion. I also talked about my anxieties about the cost and worrying about spending £000's and it not working. She asked me how I would feel if in years to come if we never tried, and made me realise it's worth trying even if it fails because at least we will know and fingers crossed it will work. The best thing I got out of the session was she talked about a couple she did counselling with (no details of their sessions obviously) and how they went to Czech Republic for donor IVF and saved thousands. They now run a company assisting others do the same using their experience to make the process run smoothly so as long as my tests all come back ok on Monday we have decided to go to the Czech Republic at the end of this year/early next year as the cost id so much cheaper than in the UK.

HollyWollyDooDah · 17/05/2017 19:21

Thanks guys, bleeding has stopped now?
I had two clots the size of a finger nail with some pink streaks in cm, now nothing?!

I'm so worried that they will refuse to treat me too as oh smokes too, also I have a daughter from a previous relationship, and We're both overweight.

I don't know

Life is just being unfair at the moment with other things too. Don't k ow what I've done to deserve it, I mean I've dedicated my life to caring for others. I'm not a nasty person atall, maybe that's my problem. I never say no

Sorry I'm fed up xxx

Infertility123 · 17/05/2017 21:32

Holly life sucks at times. Sending you hugs xx

We have been refused IVF as my Husband has Children from his previous marriage. Our only option is to go to the Czech Republic for treatment as the cost is less than £2000 vs in excess of £7000 in the UK as long as my AMH results are good enough for IVF treatment.

Hope you feel better soon xx

Iamchanging · 18/05/2017 03:45

Morning all, so I think my 150mgs of clomid may have worked - I'm not imagining this am I?

That definitely looks like a line to me! Congratulations Changing xx

YouBoggleMyMind · 18/05/2017 08:19

That is positive!!! Yay! Congrats!

Iamchanging · 18/05/2017 08:27

Thanks both. Can hardly believe it - doesn't feel real at all. Please let it be sticky!

Sunny1984 · 18/05/2017 08:34

Just wondering, has anyone tried Inofolic?

SLady · 18/05/2017 08:47

Congratulations changing so so pleased for you!!! #luckythread Star

YouBoggleMyMind · 18/05/2017 09:58

Changing will you take a first response or clear blue?

Iamchanging · 18/05/2017 10:01

Hi boggle, yes I'd like to but I'm not home until very late on Friday, so won't be able to get one and use first morning urine until Sunday. So until then I'll prob just use the ICs in the hope of seeing a progression!

SummerHopin · 18/05/2017 10:35

Congratulations Changing! ALthough I can see a line there I would def recommend getting a non-IC test ASAP as I got a negative on a IC after 3 positives on CB and FRER tests! If I had only been testing with ICs I would have thought negative and that wasnt the case. At least you have a second line on that IC mine was completely clear! You get a much better line with those ones and it can save some of the stress of trying to see if lines on ICs get darker.

Congrats!!! :)

ElizabethCatherine · 18/05/2017 16:17

Congratulations @Iamchanging !!

@HollyWollyDooDah my doctor and acupuncturist both recommended my DH take proxeed to help with sperm count etc. And sex every 2-3 days will help the quality of them too. Also told him to take 400mg of vitamin E and 1000 of vitamin D a day

Iamchanging · 18/05/2017 16:22

Thanks both,
I've now told my DH that we have to stop at a 24 hour supermarket when we land late on Friday Changing so that I can see on a CB. That's made me feel so much better about the faintness of the line though so thank you!

ElizabethCatherine · 18/05/2017 16:24

Ladies I need your help/thoughts/opinions.
What do you think about flying in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy? I've booked my holiday to fly at the end of July... now the fertility clinic is saying they don't recommended air travel in the first 3 months.. this is so annoying :( I don't want to delay starting treatment until September now... what if treatment doesn't even work before holiday anyways? I don't want to give up this time TTC but don't want to put the pregnancy at risk if I do get pregnant in the next 8 weeks.. what do you girls think about all this? There is so many opinions like don't have sushi when pregnant, don't have blue cheese, don't fly. I can't wrap myself in cotton wool for the rest of my life and never book a holiday because "what if I'm pregnant".. I could be thinking and trying for years! Uhrg I'm so confused at what to do :(

Iamchanging · 18/05/2017 16:33

I work in a job where I fly all the time, as do a lot of my friends. I have just had my bfp, during my 2WW I flew three times and will be flying another 4 times in the next 3 weeks. My friend has a similar job and is about to pop having had no issues through her pregnancy. So personally I wouldn't worry.

YouBoggleMyMind · 18/05/2017 16:47

You can fly up to 28 weeks without issues. I will be flying at 16/17 weeks. I have also had a bit of cambezola (cheese you're not meant to have) and I've even had a beer or 2 (judge away, I don't really care) It's about risk and whether you're prepared to take it or not. I do not want to spend the next 9 months wrapped in cotton wool. I have no issue with people being super strict and I equally have no beef with people who are more lax with the "rules". But don't get yourself so worked up and stressed cos that won't help you either xxx

SummerHopin · 18/05/2017 17:33

I'm also flying when I'll be about 13 weeks for a two week holiday and I won't be hiding in the shade the whole time either!

It's about how you feel. I read up on the first trimester flying and I think if something is going to go wrong it will go wrong, flying doesn't increase the chances.

Also my DSis flew when she was 8 weeks then again at 7 months with her second and my nephews turned out just fine!
