Oh that's crap phase if you think it is AF symtoms. Holding out isn't sometimes the best way though.

So frustrating when it doesn't happen quickly again isn't it. Then realise how lucky you were the first time! Some people get no quick goes. Dam luck of the draw!

Patiently waiting for FW to come around. But I've managed 2 cups of raspberry leaf tea past two day.

I'm trying EOD sed this cycle? What do the rest of you do? We've mixed it up a bit but last few times done every day and nothing. So back to EOD which worked the first time we got pregnant!

It's that relaxed state that no longer exists..

@AmandaP86x hope you found the details you needed. i'm going to go back and read it all again as it does get all a bit muddy in my brain as we read sooo much! i thought flashing smiley meant guaranteed static smiley soon but that's not the case, there is a chance that you can have a flashing smiley (estrogen rise) without the necessary egg release. it's only when the LH surge happens that you get the static smiley. it isn't positive to have an egg released without an LH surge but that doesn't always mean an OPKs will pick up your LH surge! it's a total mind fuck!

@Moo31 yeah you could be completely right, i was naive to think all cycles would be the same. thanks for sharing so i know i'm not the first woman in the history of making babies to have this happen (it can feel that way when i'm a bit miffed)

@MissMagpie as above, thank you. were you 5days with flashing smileys? i'm on day5! i think we started as cycle buddies too. damn that late egg, dunno who my new buddy will be!

@Anna2006 thanks for the luteal phase info. good to know that my luteal phase last cycle should at least stay the same (14days) so 🤞🏼 i peak soon.

I need talking down ladies. Found myself plotting to purchase a frer tomorrow and test. I'll be 9dpo. They have a sodding calculator on their web page that tells you when you can test and the feckers told me tomorrow. What?! I will resist and stick with my Monday plan. Must. Be. Sensible.

well I've been toying with the idea of taking a complete relaxed approach this cycle - binning off the opks and just keeping my fx .... I stressed myself out last cycle and i really didn't like it. I can't believe that everyone in the world that gets upduffed dtd at exactly the right time - ie static smiley!!! Xxx

anna I did EOD in my successful cycle. Only difference was we did it in the morning one day and then the evening the next day of what I thought was my positive ovulation time so that was technically every day but felt like EOD?

cakes I tested at 11dpo I think and I got a very faint line so I wouldn't waste a test if it was to just give you a false negative? Although those apps did the same with me too! It makes the urge even more real!!

Hippy I think there's a lot to be said for a relaxed cycle! Like you say, all the couples who manage to get pregnant and don't track, they must manage it without focusing on OPKing and such like! Are you gonna use preseed again this cycle?

Oh and phase FX for your BFP this weekend! Hopefully AF stays away!

dolly I'm not sure about the preseed - I've still got 6 applicator tubes so I probably will - I don't find that bit too stressful ... it's just the opk malarkey cuz I can't make dp dtd ... if he's in the mood it happens if not it doesn't so might as well just go with the flow ... all this stressing out is getting me down and I can't be doing with being a negative nancy xxx

as much as my brain is mush with OPKs i'm still ok with it but give me another couple of cycles and i might turn into a Happy Hippy too, throwing caution to the wind, peeing on everything APART from sticks, sounds sooo freeing ✌🏼 & ❤️

Bella I had about 4 flashing smileys then switched to using the other Clear Blue tests that just say low or static smiley as I was just waiting for my peak. I used a load of tests this month thanks to a late egg! So annoying. It had better be worth it ;)

Cakes don't do it!! (Obviously you can if you want). I am a BFN phobe so don't have the problem of wanting to POAS when it's a pregnancy test. I'd rather wait to see if AF turns up. But if you can face the possibility of a white space because, and only because, it's too early, then go for it. Or buy something nice for yourself for the price of a test. Cake? Nail polish? Wine?! (When I got pg with my DS I was really late and as I thought I might be pg after a year of trying, I had a glass of wine the night before I was going to test in case I couldn't have another for ages!! Lol!).

Hippy there definitely is a lot of stress caused by ttc and especially monitoring ovulation and dtd according to that. You could always try a relaxed month and see if it makes you more relaxed. Just listen to your body and dtd it when you want to.

You're so right ladies. I'm not normally an early tester because I always think if it's negative then I haven't gained anything, I could still be pg or still not be. Damn the people who invented home pregnant tests! You shouldn't be allowed to buy them until you can prove af hasn't been when she should've! I'm off work tomorrow for some me time,what a treat!! Will go out and distract myself.

Go for it @Hippychic79. Listen to your body and read the signs and get some dtd in if the mood strikes. If the opks have stressed you out this month then see how you feel without them. I really thought I would use them this cycle but got muddled from the start and my response to that sort of thing is to ditch it! I'm all for an easy life!

Hold out cakes. I know it's so hard. But the let down is worse. Hold off until 11DPO at least. That's like my go to day. Where testing is made acceptable 🙈 Lol

Ditch the OPKs Hippy I say. DTD with DP if and when he fancies it and see if you strike lucky. It does all get a bit technical sometimes and all we really need to do is have lots of sex and have fun!. An a baby will arrive st some stage right?!

My husband is slightly dubious about me tracking my ovulation so I get the whole relaxed thing. In fact he's already told me to calm down about it which obviously I haven't as has anyone ever calmed down just because they were told to?

Also when do you count your post ovulation from? (See, definitely not calming down ?

well, i'm still on a flashing smiley BUT i think my test reader is fucked!! last few nights iv forgotten to take the pissy stick out (my bad)
so when i take it out and out and out the fresh 1 in this morn, instead of the wee test symbol appearing it went straight to flashing smiley! i took it back out, it flashed for say a min or so, then went blank. put it back in and the test sympbol was showing. as iv done IC OPKs throughout this flashing smiley WEEK and nothing has shown on them at all, i think it's faulty altogether.

just gonna stop pissing on expensive bits of plastic this cycle and see what happens. iv turned into a Happy Hippy overnight hehe

bella I think your reader is faulty too.
Some months just don't go to plan when ttc and you never know that could be a good thing. It seems frustrating at the time but you can't do anything about it so your only choice is how you respond ... with love or with fear ... yes I have swallowed a self help book 😂 Xxx

Morning soph I count ovulation from the day after my static smiley.
I know when people tell you to relax you just wanna punch them in the face ... but I'm starting to think maybe there is something in relaxing and accepting what will be will be xxx

Sophsta I think DPO should be counted from the day after ov, I ov on Tuesday and recon I am 3 DPO today.

Hippy and Bella I think that as long as you dtd regularly (or cannot really control when to dtd) opks aren't necessarily useful. The studies on optimal dtd days also find that it won't increase your chances if you dtd on all your fertile days, the crucial thing is to hit one or two days before ov or ov day. So every other day is fine. The rest is up to eggy I think. According to the It starts with the egg book, we put too much weight on hitting ov and too little on nurturing eggy.

I have to add that for me opks are crucial as we don't really dtd that often and my cycles are all over the place. So for me this is less stressful than pressuring myself and dp to dtd every other day (would not happen anyway). Also, dp handles the pressure quite ok, so when I say it's peak day he usually goes with it. But the romance in not blooming I have to say

patient good book that is :)) and well remembered ... I read all these books and half the information goes out my head!

To be honest - my dp doesn't even know we are trying, so even if I do the opks and hit my peak - I can't even say 'hey babe we have to dtd today cuz im at my peak' ... so all that happens is that I worry all day wondering whether we will dtd and he'll finish the job ... he's got enough pressure as it is so me being stressed about his Doreen's ain't gonna help my Peggy
