Hi all, how are we all? Haven't been on for a while.....

Well today is CD28 and I caved and a BFN! I don't wasn't going to bother testing but I just wanted to know one way or the other. I am 12dpo and have had AF cramps for last week. Boooooo 😢

On a positive I went to gp last week as I'm now 6months ttc and she has referred me straight to fertility clinic- she was really nice and understanding. Got my bloods done too which apparently are all normal so I'm taking that as nice positive news!!!

Anyone else waiting for appointment to go to a clinic?

sarahboro1 · 21/03/2017 16:23

Blondie do you mind me asking how old you are? I ask because 6 months is quite a short time to be referred so really pleased for you that you have such a good gp. I've been thinking about going back to see mine as I'm now 12 months ttc and 36 years old. Had my bloods done in October which were all normal so they sent me away to crack on so to speak!! Xx

rainbowsockstoday · 21/03/2017 17:21

So by my testing and judgement I ovulated at the weekend which makes me 2/3dpo... there's no real point in us DTD now but should I tell DH that or just keep quiet and see what happens?

rainbowsockstoday · 21/03/2017 17:52

@blondienut we are also waiting on an appointment as we are quite old but we have to wait a couple of months as we are only 22mths into trying and it has to be 2yrs. It does however mean up to 18mths OFF ttc which I'm not happy about

Blondienut · 21/03/2017 18:02

I'm nearly 39 and my dh is 45. We both have children from other relationships. Nhs website say to be referred of over 35 and trying for more than 6 months so I would be pretty firm about getting referral if that's the case

hellybellyjellybean · 21/03/2017 18:21

@rainbowsockstoday ha ha love it and definitely not too much!and thanks @Moo31, more people seem to go with the conceive plus than preseed so will go with that next month if we have another month on the go! Work in a school also and ended up in the middle of a fight today, getting pushed and bashed about and all sorts today, girls are nuts! Was thinking when I came home that good job I wasn't pg right now really as impulse said to stand in the middle of it and protect the girls from each other, realise how much I'd be putting myself at risk and would have to go against all instincts or if the other instinct just kicks in to protect baby!

rainbowsockstoday · 21/03/2017 18:27

@blondienut they will refer you but as you haven't been ttc for two years (regardless of age) and also have existing children they can only advise and do the tests. Any treatment will need to be private.

Blondienut · 21/03/2017 18:29

Rainbow - yep that's what dr said and what I expected. I'll just be glad to get investigations done to be honest

BellaMoon · 21/03/2017 20:12

lol at #wherespeggy haha. it's a bit like where's wally but less obvious!

cd1 is always an absolute 'c u next tuesday' of a day BUT i have welcomes AF into my home, my car, my work, and even invited her to stay with me for a few days. i'm making her comfortable, offering her tea and the odd biscuits. iv offered her freshly laundered pjs, a nice big comfy bed and even allowed her the luxury of a cat for a hot water bottle. she can have a couple of pain killers just incase she gets uncomfortable in anyway... and when she goes, hopefully in around 3/4 days, she's going to be soooo grateful that she'll leave some great feedback with Mother Nature who will reward me with a wonderful peggy who just cannot wait to meet the doreen's and give me a wonderful winter baby 🤰🏼👶🏼 ❄️

BellaMoon · 21/03/2017 20:17

sorry that posted early as i dropped my phone on my face...!

sorry to all my other AF ladies... it's the necessary evil in the whole process i guess. allowing us to draw a line and start afresh. big love ❤️

loving all the info sharing on all the little tricks of the trade... i reckon between us there is nothing that a fertility expert knows that we don't #girlgangpower #throatpunchAF

CakesALot · 21/03/2017 20:26

Very good of you to treat her so well @BellaMoon. Let's hope she's planning a 9 month vacation somewhere else after her pleasant stay with you!

Cramps have arrived with a passion this evening. And a sulky mood. Come on af, just get here already!!

rainbowsockstoday · 21/03/2017 20:30

Hmmmm no offer of a cuddle from the mr... I wonder if he's worked out the plan and that's me done now for the next 2/3 weeks 😫

AmandaP86x · 22/03/2017 00:01

@AmandaP86x for convenience i used fmu but like hippy said some say midday-ish.

is it cb digital opks you are using? cd8-10 is the best time to start with them according to their instructions x

CakesALot · 22/03/2017 07:07

Ding dong the witch is here! Hello cd1! April, you are the month of bfps!! We got this ladies!

Thanks for quotes hippy, needed those this morning xx

rainbowsockstoday · 22/03/2017 07:25

Well the tww is passing by here by being a busy week first. I have a struggle to find a birthday present for DH and for a 3yo girl!

@amanda it's recommended to use 12-2pm opk tests as I have certainly found morning gives me nothing and afternoon gives me positive. It's because I'm the northern hemisphere women tend to ov in the pm and in the southern in the morning. It's all to do with the moon and when certain hormones can be made. So LH builds up through the day and gets stronger till the evening when other hormones take over and are stronger. The opposite is true of prolactin which is stimulated more at night and hence why babies don't sleep well at night (actually children aren't meant to sleep just at night it's not natural for humans to do this).

CakesALot · 22/03/2017 08:04

Ladies, cd1 means planning and preparation for april BFP. Here's my thoughts for me this month

Definitely continuing with no opks, I enjoyed the month and the sex so much more just going with my instincts. We won't be able to have as much sex this month anyway due to being away during fw in a room with DD! Quickies here we come! So I want to remove extra pressure.

I've asked DH to do one of the at home sperm tests. He was on some meds for 4 years, came off them at Christmas, and discovered that there is some research suggesting being on that type of drug for a long time could effect sperm count. Coming off the drugs should mean it returns but I want to rule that out as an issue.

More missionary sex!! There was too much doggy last month!!

And that is all. Sticking to healthy living and reduced caffeine and alcohol too. Might pick up some tea as well.

On it!!!

Hope everyone is well this morning! Thanks for letting me share my plans. I like to get things written down 😂

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 22/03/2017 08:49

Has anyone had the 21 day blood test. If so, what happens next?

DH went to ask about his Doreen's and was told that I have to be tested first. Even though DH is the one who had an operation on one of his testes! Very very very tempted to pay for private but then I had a thought... what if it is me?! Shock So I am going along for the blood test next Tuesday!

ArchiesMamaBird · 22/03/2017 09:38

Salem I had the 21 day bloods done, and my results came back as normal and fine.

Then I booked another appt and the DR said thae next step is for DH to have his sperm tested (he's going next week) and I've been booked in for an ultrasound and internal scan on 6th April.

If they come back normal then he said I will go and have the dye test, where they insert it through your Fallopian tubes (not sure what it's called?)

Then if all of that is clear, he said we carry on trying until we get to the 2 year mark, then he will refer us for fertility treatment, but we'd have to pay for it privately as we already have DS.

Roseandbee · 22/03/2017 12:30

Salem my husband had his Doreen so checked before my 21 day blood test. Don't see why it can be done now you need both for a proper investigation as it's not like if they find a problem in your day 21 that means your husband gets the all clear. They need to check if both, none or one of you have a problem.
Archie's the Fallopian tube thing is called a hycosy or hsg I'm having mine done on Monday
Amanda when I'm getting close to ovulation i test a few times a day so I don't miss it. Otherwise I aim for about 10-12 on the days I'm not really expecting it.
I've always loved Christmas babies, I get extra excited when some one I know is expecting then, my niece was born Christmas Eve uk time which is when my family's main Christmas celebration takes place. She lives in America though so her bd is actually the 23rd

rainbowsockstoday · 22/03/2017 12:37

I have already started the process. I've had my 21 day bloods, 1-4day bloods, ultrasound and internal ultrasound for follicle count as well as dh having Doreen count. The letters below are the next steps but the waiting list here is 18mths long and you can't be ttc within that time as when there's a cancellation they ring up and get you in on short notice. You can't be pregnant when you have it so must hold off ttc just in case. I'm ignoring this so far.

Roseandbee · 22/03/2017 12:37

Cakes good luck with your new cycle. I always feel super positive on cd1 even though it's the official end of the previous attempt. Don't know if I just get some kind of hormone mood boost or it's just a relief to have a fresh start again.

Roseandbee · 22/03/2017 12:44

Rainbow that is so ridiculous! I just had to ring up on day 1 of my period and the fitted me in for cycle day 11 as the say they like to do it around cycle day 10. Could you not just avoid ttc between say cd 1-12 and then dtd in time for ovulation?
