Sorry about the bfn glitters and hope DD feels better soon.

Jupiter yeah I just had it too. Baths are a trigger although I rarely get thrush - apparently hormone changes in pregnancy can cause it too so i counted it as a symptom lol! Mine was better after 3 days of canesten, luckily well past FW but I'm not sure of the impact anyway, if any. Sorry not more helpful, hope it clears soon!

HeyJupiter · 25/02/2017 10:53

Thanks Grumpy, to be honest its very mild so might be just an external irritation rather than full blown thrush. Going to try some natural methods (eating live yoghut, no sugar for few days) and hope it clears up on its own. Nowhere near bad enough to stop me DTD-ing but will go to pharmacy if becomes more problematic!

Sorry about your BFN glitters, hope your DD feels better soon x

MrsC2017 · 25/02/2017 11:31

Aw grumpy sorry about BFN this morning was so sure after I seen that line last night, and penguin and glitters too 😔
My DS is sick today too, high temperatures and not to happy at all.
jupiter you can apply the yoghurt directly to the thrush too for a while, apparently it helps, although not like u can do that if u need to go anywhere! Hope it clears soon.

HeyJupiter · 25/02/2017 11:39

MrsC sorry your DS is sick! Hope you're having a cuddly day together.

Yes, I read that about applying the live yoghurt directly too. But it's strawberry flavoured and wasn't sure that was a good idea Grin

MrsC2017 · 25/02/2017 11:41

jupiter haha perhaps not!

Penguin27 · 25/02/2017 11:58

Wow, so much to catch up on! Sorry about the BFNs, grumpy and glitter ... Still got several days until AF is expected. Do you plan to test again?

I was told that you can only have lukewarm baths if you're pregnant, does anyone know why this is? Despite my bfn, I'm worried because I had a super hot bath for like an hour yesterday...

DancingUnicorn · 25/02/2017 12:03

Penguin apparently raising body temp above 38 degrees in the first trimester can lead to neural tube defects (I think) but I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue this early if it turns out you're pregnant this month!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/02/2017 12:06

Penguin excessive heat in first tri is linked to neural tube defects but this isn't widely known (my GP didn't know of the study, not sure how definitive the link is) so I think that's why you are meant to avoid saunas etc but I honestly wouldn't worry I bet loads of pregnant people have hot baths thinking that AF is imminent! I have also heard that people doing ivf are told to avoid hot baths during the TWW maybe it's not ideal implantation conditions? But I wouldn't stress xx

Yes - AF due 2 march according to Ovia who has put me on a 31 day cycle. But a 28 day cycle would make it due Monday. I don't know how long my natural cycle is - took 35 days to get AF post pill. Before I was on the pill I think I had a very regular cycle - from memory it was 30days approx

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/02/2017 12:14

Sorry bad maths. Ovia has put me on a 30 day cycle as Monday = CD28 Tue = CD29 Wed = CD30 and AF expected Thursday

buzzmoon · 25/02/2017 12:34

So I suggested the idea of oh surprising me with gender reveal. Turns out he doesn't even want to find out! Convince me that this is best and we shouldn't find out. The organised loon inside me is panicking that I won't be able to plan properly! I know that's ridiculous but still!

buzzmoon · 25/02/2017 12:35

Maybe wait till Tuesday to test grumpy?

MrsC2017 · 25/02/2017 12:52

buzz the way I look at it is, there are so few true surprises in life and this is one we get to have if we like! That's why I won't find out but obviously lots of people do so each to their own! My friend found out with her two and she just says she can't be bothered with surprises, she always wants to know her Christmas present before opening it so everyone is different!
grumpy I would do what buzz says and give yourself till Tuesday Flowers

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 25/02/2017 12:54

I think I'd like to find out too buzz. I'd much rather know in advance. I think we will keep it to ourselves though and let family find out after the baby is here. He might come round to the idea. You never know!

Thanks dancing (or is it unicorn? Haha) and grumpy... It's a bit worrying that I could have unknowingly done some damage! But I'll try to put it out of my head... I'm not expecting a bpf this cycle anyway.

Grumpy, It's frustrating not know when your AF is due!! I'd go with the advice of others, if still no AF on Tuesday do another test. Fx for you!

Buzz, I can understand your nervousness about not being able to plan! But personally, I'd like the surprise!

HeyJupiter · 25/02/2017 14:12

I think I'd like a surprise too! But easy for me to say that right now when I'm not pregnant :)

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/02/2017 14:32

Ok I'm going to stay strong till Tuesday. I only have 1 FRER left and no cheap tests anyway!

I'm definitely going to find out the sex asap! Probably will get harmony test. I'll need to get used to the idea (esp with a boy .. I've no experience with them!)

DancingUnicorn · 25/02/2017 14:36

I want a surprise, but oh wants to know!! I don't think I'd plan/buy anything differently if I know. I guess it would makes names a little easier... guess we'll have to fight it out in a few months!

HeyJupiter · 25/02/2017 16:21

Grumpy is the harmony test to check for chromosomal things? Sounds sensible so you have all the info!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 25/02/2017 16:22

Jupiter yes but they can also tell you the gender. As early as 10 weeks!

DancingUnicorn · 25/02/2017 16:25

I think harmony is an nhs test in my area if you're deemed high risk after nuchal measurement! Glad it's being rolled out!

HeyJupiter · 25/02/2017 16:28

That's great Dancing, really positive. I didn't realise harmony was for gender too! Learning something every day on this thread.

Just had two glasses of champagne for a birthday tea party (not mine!).. that's okay right? Not ovulating until next week!

MrsC2017 · 25/02/2017 16:29

Wow grumpy 10 weeks is impressive, I did not know that!

MrsC2017 · 25/02/2017 16:31

I'm saying yesjupiter as I have had several this cycle in my tww due to holidays and am going out tonight so I might have one drink also don't judge me so pre ov is def ok!

DancingUnicorn · 25/02/2017 16:31

Jupiter I drank right up till ovulation. Got a lot of tutting from oh... but I was away with work and very stressed!! It surely can't harm baby before ovulation... can it?! I figured probably not.

DancingUnicorn · 25/02/2017 16:32

Also had a sip of beer last week. A sip.
