It's my birthday next month too, Beckle!
But not for another 4 and a bit weeks

Glad to hear you're ok.

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 30/03/2007 17:14

Hi Tigerschick, you okay? My birthday is in just under 4 weeks, and is a big one! Am feeling cheerful today, had lovely bus ride (his first)with my LO (4) today, top of a double decker through lovely countryside. He was so excited and chattered the whole way! Where you live sounds lovely - I used to live next to a farm and even though have been a townie for 5 years, I still miss it.

tigersEasterchick · 30/03/2007 17:16

It's a big one for me next year!

Your bus ride sounds lovely ... it must be great to go thru something so simple yet so exciting. I wish I could remember being 4!

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 30/03/2007 18:48

Somedays I wish I was still 4 Tigerschick, life was much simpler!

But then, when I was 4 I couldn't have wine, wasn't allowed to eat as much chocolate as I liked and the internet was still in it's infancy and hadn't gone worldwide!

Maybe there are some advantages to being 30!

tigersEasterchick · 30/03/2007 18:59

Well said! (says the 28 year old )

kensgirl · 30/03/2007 19:01

Hi everyone, I've not posted for a few days as I've been busy

Anyway, bad news for me yesterday as af started

that means its cd 2 for me taoday, with next af around 28th April. At least i get another go at april

I do feel really crappy though and just keep sliding away to have a wail... I really thought we would get a bfp this month, but I guess my cycle and pms feelings have changed since the mc.

Oh, well, we'll have to try harder this time

good luck to anyone due to test this weekend!!

PeachyClair · 30/03/2007 19:02

And I am on her, although not too upset for various reasons. But hello.

tigersEasterchick · 30/03/2007 19:27

Sorry about your AFs kensgirl and peachyclair.

Don't worry Scorpio, you're not alone

Off to watch rugby! Only on tv but you get better close-ups that way

FurryFox · 30/03/2007 19:48

Sorry about AF kensgirl & Peachyclair. Best of luck for next month

Hope everyone has a good night and weekend

waiting4bambino · 30/03/2007 23:00

Commiserations to all whose AF arrived. This is my CD2. Determined that April is gonna be the month it happens!

Have got over my sadness and ordered a thermometer and some wee ovulation sticks on www.accessdiagnostics.co.uk - check it out if you haven't already, it is quite cheap!

I've never done the temping thing before, so if anyone can explain it simply to me, then I'd be grateful! I know you have to do it in the morning as soon as you get up, and then write it down etc, but what is supposed to happen around ovulation time? Also, say you were just really hot in bed one night, wouldnt that affect the temp that you take in the morning etc????
This ttc is more complicated than it looks! I loved having my electric blanket on my bed until i read on a website that you can't have it when ttc, so I've had cold feet all winter! I've also had to have colder showers than normal, as that's considered bad too, and then to top it all off, i read that you shouldnt clean aquariums out as there is something in the fish poo that is bad for you! And I am the only one who cleans the fish out in my house! What happened to the days when I just imagined you had unprotected sex, and you just got pregnant there and then?! Rant over!

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 30/03/2007 23:49

sorry to see all these AFs , but hopefully April will be a better month (redress the balance a bit...)
Waiting4Bambino - I did not realise you weren't supposed to have elecric blanket on whille TTC! Is that true? No wonder did not manage it over the winter . I have hot showers too, can't bear them cool. Oh dear.

goingfor3 · 31/03/2007 08:53

Sorry about all of the AF's. March really was a crappy month.

I thought it was only men who shouldn't have hot showers/baths. Didn't think the smae went for women.

fifisworld · 31/03/2007 08:59

Morning all
I thought the hot bath/shower thing was just for men as well, if its not then im buggered,i have my baths boiling.
i've had a few niggly cramps over the past 2 days,i hope it implantation and not af,altough im not due for another 10 days or so.

BellaBear · 31/03/2007 09:08

Well, I've got my pre period spotting, exactly 28 days after the last time I had it (period turned up in full force three days later, just enough time to get myself worked up over implantation bleeds), so not holding up any hope now.

we wouldn't have had any more sex! (maybe too much?)

crap crap crap crap poo.

BellaBear · 31/03/2007 09:09

seeing as how I am hitting 28 days now since mc, I have a whole cycle left still in April.

tigersEasterchick · 31/03/2007 09:11

Morning All!

It sounds like all 'round this morning! I know it's hard but try and keep your spirits up

BellaBear · 31/03/2007 09:15

i think i might go to the hut. spirits won't be up for quite a while.

kensgirl · 31/03/2007 09:25

Sorry to hear Bella, I was relying on you after all your "busy" posts... If it helps any, we were putting in just as much effort too.

does anyone know if its true that you should only have sex every other day to keep the quality of the sperm strong, or if every day doesnt really make a difference either way?

i know that a normal, healthy couple only have a 20% chance of becoming pregnant in each cycle, so thats some consolation. April's got to be a good month after Marchs stats.

waiting4bambino · 31/03/2007 11:38

My thermometer and ovulation kits arrived this morning! Can't wait to start charting it! It'll give me something else to think about I guess! Those of you who already do the temping and charting - is there much of a rise in the temp around ovulation time? Is it a noticeable rise etc?
With regards to the electric blanket and hot showers thing etc, I read it on one of the ttc websites - i've got so many saved in my favourites now, i'll have to have a look through them again etc, but I don't know the science of it! I always thought too that you shouldnt have hot baths if you could be pregnant, cos it heated up your insides too much. I know that years ago, some women would drink loads of gin and get into a hot bath to try and miscarry (like Dawn in Eastenders etc).
BUT, on another website i read that if you can stick lying in the bath, then its obviously not too hot! So there is mixed info everywhere. I wouldnt read too much into it or you could go crazy! You can't avoid everything in life, and women have been conceiving without taking all these precautions for years!

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 31/03/2007 12:50

BellaBear
April has got to be better for us all than March was, surely?
I don't know how true it is about sperm being better if you BD every other day but when I was on Clomid for first pg I was told to do the deed on days 11, 13 and 15. I just tend to go for the as often as possible thing and hope for the best

If you have a fever, the time it becomes a risk is when your temperature heats up- because it can have the same developmental effects as a hot bath (I have read- years ago mind). And if you can lie in the bath comfortably then it is OK thing is supposedly correct.
