Toomanyshoes - Sorry AF arrived and sorry you're not hopful for this month. I'm CD38 today and thought AF was on her way last night but she still hasn't showed so when she does I'll be skiping March too.

toomanyshoes · 02/03/2007 21:36

thanks furryfox, aren't you even a bit tempted to test? I'm so impressed you haven't caved in!

Lucy1977 · 02/03/2007 21:50

FF - no worries, don't think I've properly introduced myself yet, wanted to make sure I had the right thread!
We've just started ttc DC2, DD is 1yr old. I knew it wouldn't happen immediately but I was gutted when AF showed up! How long are your usual cycles? Aren't you tempted to test?

TMS - I'm also CD2 and this month had a 37 days cycle but that's shorter than my 2 previous 42 days cycles.

plummymummy · 02/03/2007 22:53

Welcome lucy I have a ds aged 2 yrs 8 mths. Conceived him straight away and both pgs after (which I m/c). This will be my 3rd cycle ttc since m/c.

Hi, am new on here and ttc no. 3 after mc last year - have posted on march thread but can I chat here too??? not up with all the MN etiquette yet!

plummymummy · 02/03/2007 23:02

Welcome beckysparkle As for MN etiquette - neither am I which is why I sometimes offend

OP posts:
becklespeckle · 02/03/2007 23:04

i am unoffendable! (is that a word?) but ever so good at putting my foot in it - which thread should I be on?

plummymummy · 02/03/2007 23:09

Post on both if you like. That's what I'm doing, but I'm only putting my cycle date on this one. I'm on CD3

OP posts:
becklespeckle · 02/03/2007 23:14

okay, put my cycle date on march (CD55) - cycle so irregular that even AF would be a blessing at the mo! Just wanted peeps in similar boat to talk to so don't bore DH to death!

plummymummy · 02/03/2007 23:21

Know what you mean, but then they moan that you spend too much time on MN! Yr cycle is horrendous It's not nice when you have no idea when you ovulate or when you will get your period (though nice not to bleed as frequently). As a teen I used to get a period every two weeks which lasted over a week

OP posts:
becklespeckle · 02/03/2007 23:24

my dh is currently snoring on the sofa - his usual evening's entertainment! your teen cycle sounds horrible! mine always been bad but since mc AF been twice and outstayed her welcome both times! (2 weeks and then 3).

BellaBear · 03/03/2007 09:10

Morning Easter Eggs! Hello I am on CD1, my period is probably due 1st April, second cycle TTC our first since m/c at six weeks, period signs for last two days and now it is here! Giving up the casual approach and using the approach that worked last time (although then miscarried, but that can't have been because we shagged every day for ten days can it???).
SInce coming off the pill last autumn, periods have slipped back into a 30 ish day cycle, so this one was shorter than usual but following a mc so not very surprising. So I might be due at the end of March, but I figured new cycle, new month!
Well, after rambling on, just wanted to say hello really!

Lucy1977 · 03/03/2007 16:38

Hi PM, BS and BB!

BS, I empathise with your long cycles - when we were TTC DD my first cycle off the pill was 75 days!

I once read that doing it every other day was good for TTC as the sperm were more concentrated in the semen but if doing it everyday worked for you before then I'd say do that again!

So envious of those people with short cycles, I have sooo long to wait to get the prime time!

Lucy

becklespeckle · 03/03/2007 16:48

know what you mean lucy - wd love a short cycle at the mo - think AF only turns up at mine when she really really bored! How are your cycles now?
I had heard every other day was better(conceived first pg using clomid and they told me to do that when ovulating) - trying to convince DH of that would be hard work tho!

Lucy1977 · 03/03/2007 21:44

BS, well I've had 3 cycles since DD was conceived (she's 1yr old), two 42 days and this one was 37 days but it only lasted 2 days - weird but I'm not complaining! Hoping they will get shorter.

Every other day it is then!

Lucy

becklespeckle · 03/03/2007 22:57

Lucy - yours do seem to be getting shorter! Did it take you long ttc DD? Have you done a test? I would have had to with only a 2 day visit! mine are getting longer! i have had 2 full cycles since m/c last year - first one cd47, (2 week bleed) next one CD55, (3 week bleed) - am now on CD56 with no sign of AF and a BFN yesterday

Lucy1977 · 03/03/2007 23:59

BS, sorry if I sound daft but if I had AF (albeit for 2 days) surely I couldn't be pregnant? I don't feel like I am but no haven't done any tests. I had a horrible D&V bug for a few days so maybe because I was ill from that my AF was shorter?

We were really lucky and conceived DD the second cycle after coming off the pill but since my first cycle was so long I think we were just v v v lucky.

cityangel · 04/03/2007 01:00

Hello April a sad first day AF bunny joining. Here's hoping my Easter eggs get fertilised.

fresco · 04/03/2007 06:41

hello plummymummy
which one is the other thread please?

BellaBear · 04/03/2007 09:05

Lucy - I think becklespeckle is suggesting it might be an implantation bleed, which is often confused with s period but is a short light bleed when the fertilised egg implants in the lining of the womb see here

cityangel - I know just how you feel!
But I'm going to eat all my chocolate eggs, I promise! (I know what you meant but it made me giggle! )

Fresco - the other thread is the mad hatters and march hares thread which is for those whose period (or positive pregnancy test!) is due in march.

Lucy1977 · 04/03/2007 09:32

BB - oh right, sorry was a bit slow there, I think my AF was a bit heavy to be implantation tbh but good to know.

CA - sorry the witch came to visit.

Hi everyone

Need some advice if anyone has any. I did take a test this afternoon. Soon after taking the test AF seems to have come back.

The tests are cheap Ebay ones, "On Call". They have a line about 1.5 cm from the bottom where the urine isn't supposed to go above. The first test I took the urine did accidentally splash above this line and came back positive. So I took a second test and the urine didn't go above the line and it's negative. I did the tests 20 mins ago so not FMU.

AF is now just a trickle, I realise I am not pregnant (or not with a viable pregnancy) so should I get a doctors appointment tomorrow to get checked out or go to early pregnancy unit tomorrow or just do nothing and presume that if anything had begun it's all out now from AF?

Sorry if I should've have put this on this thread, I'll ask for it to be deleted if it offends anyone.

Thanks
Lucy

Lucy1977 · 04/03/2007 19:58

Sorry I meant to also add, or should I just ignore the first test as void?

BellaBear · 04/03/2007 20:01

I don't really know about the tests - my instinct says wait another day and do another one before doctors or hospital.

Lots of good advice on tests at peeonastick.com

But why would that post offend anyone???
