I totally agree Beckle. Feel a bit of a fraud tho, complaining about having such an irregular cycle but not doing anything about it Dh and I decided many moons ago that we would let nature take its course. So I guess that is what we will continue to do - it worked with dd ... eventually!

Hope everyone is fine and dandy this morning

daisyboohoo · 27/03/2007 11:45

daisyboohoo - do you think you will test tomorrow??? or will you resist for another couple of days?

Pinkcandyfloss - welcome and wow how brave, I thought that having my two dc 15 months apart was close, but then I do know people who have only 11 and 12 months between their dc!!! Hope you get the perfect gap for you.

You were right yum03 (like the name!) - CD83 for Tigerschick.
We were almost cycle buddies until AF came last Mon Tigerschick - my last started on 6th Jan! My DH and I had also decided to let nature take its course, if we were meant to have another it would happen. Then I m/c'd and cycle went even more wonky than usual, I am not so fussy now and will take any help I am offered! How lond did TTC DD take? (slap me if I'm being too nosey) My prob is that DH doesn't want a massive gap so if I am not pg by Christmas, he may well call time on the whole thing...
Daisyboohoo - you have such willpower!
RLR - yes Clomid is a drug that helps you to ovulate and give you a regular cycle.

tigerschick · 27/03/2007 16:03

Thanks for working it out - my brain stated fizzing when I got 3 different results!

Beckle, dd took just over 3 years of not overly concerted effort! I agree with you about not wanting a huge gap so we have to decide that, if I'm not pg by x date do we 1. stop trying

  1. seek help or
  2. carry on anyway...!?

Hope everyone is enjoying at least a little sunshine today x

AttilaTheMeerkat · 27/03/2007 18:06

tigerschick

I've just blundered onto this thread by accident and noticed you.

I've had irregular cycles like this and they do have a cause.

If your cycles are that irregular anyway then it is highly likely you are not ovulating at all and that hormonal imbalances are to blame. In this regard a condition called polycystic ovaries or its related syndrome PCOS are common culprits.

Do you have any other symptoms?.

I would urge you to seek proper medical advice from a gynae asap, you need to know why you are so irregular.

Letting nature take its course in such circumstances is especially not a good idea.

AttilaTheMeerkat · 27/03/2007 18:07

I would also say as well that if it took 3 years to conceive your first child then there is likely to be an underlying fertility problem.

peanutbutter · 27/03/2007 18:49

hello everyone,

Hi scorpio - yes i think we've both been on the ttc threads together for a while but manage not to meet properly til now. Come on, be brave and spill the beans about your pdo - it can't possibly be tmi

Thanks Atilla. I thought about that a few years ago when it was in the news. I'll have a read up and talk to dh, see what to do next. tbh this time round, for me, it is more pressing as i don't want dd to be an only child if we can help it.

hello gracie

Good luck for this month x

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 28/03/2007 00:14

Blimey Tigerschick 3 years is a long time, you must be very patient not to have seen your GP about it. DS1 only took a few months but then I had had a m/c before him and it seemed to knock me into a regular cycle (had to use Clomid to conceive one I m/c). DS2 took a bit longer at 18 months although didn't know I was expecting him until 10 weeks when the sickness arrived! I was not too worried about age gap between first 2 but don't want a new baby to feel left out as the DSs get older (DS1 is 6.8 and DS2 4.2). Also m/c last year has made the gap larger for us too - not ideal in DH's eyes but me, I am not so bothered now, I just want another baby.
I don't think it would hurt to speak to your GP, they may or may not help straight away but the at least the ball will be rolling and you would know what your body is doing. Even with my blood tests showing I am not ovulating and my cycle being so long, the consultant is not prepared to give me Clomid yet - he wants me to wait and see for a while - I have had some more bloods taken and will get results in July. I am half tempted to ring and get the results now but I know I will try to analyse them myself and then panic for the next 3 months if they aren't good!

tigerschick · 28/03/2007 07:24

It wasn't so much a matter of being patient more that we were happy just the 2 of us. Tbh if I had become pg in either of the last 2 houses we lived in I don't know how we would have coped (no central heating or double glazing, nearest neighbours 1/2 mile away etc) I became pg 6 weeks after moving into this house! Seemed like my body decided the time was right I am going to call the gps today and get an appointment to see what they say about PCOS. Will report back when I hear anything.

Hope everyone else is doing OK

Daisy - have you tested yet???
