I'm another who said I would miss this month as was not sure about the xmas baby but after three months of no BFP (ok, I know that's not really a long time) I couldn't miss out a month, I'd always be wondering if that would have been 'the month'. Also have 37 day cycles and would be far too long await if I missed a month out

fleacircus · 26/03/2007 12:38

DP and I briefly discussed skipping this month - it's only our third cycle TTC - but I'm too impatient. Plus holiday offers too ideal TTC opportunity to miss!

FurryFox · 26/03/2007 12:40

flea - Sounds lovely but just one question, what will you do without mumsnet?

fleacircus · 26/03/2007 12:46

Probably mutter away to myself. Accost people in the street and ask if they're being unreasonable?

daisyboohoo · 26/03/2007 12:48

Hi Everyone

Hope you all had a lovely weekend...

Anyone else having trouble opening this thread? or just me? I've been trying all morning.

Beansprout - sorry to hear about AF

Fifi and Scorpio - about ewcm - I've not been following for many cycles but it lasts 2-3 days for me. Tho this month drank grapefruit juice cd1-17 and had none!! Did read somewhere that lots of bding can cause less? Would it be good to have less? It could mean that it's staying where it's needed? Sorry if you're eating lunch and tmi!

I'm on CD21 and feeling pants! Cycle usually 22- 26 days. Have been feeling sickly for a couple of days and so tired today - tho had a real long day yesterday and lost an hours sleep saturday night so could be that?

I know that I'm not imagining these and certainly not the pains I had last week but just trying so hard (and failing miserably) to read too much into them....

fifisworld · 26/03/2007 12:49

We were going to wait until june to ttc as we are going on holiday but we decided to try now. Just means if i do get bfp then i'll be 10 weeks pg when we go, not that it really matters.
I'd quite like a xmas baby, means i wont have to do the dreaded visits to see everyone and can just put my feet up.
My dads b/day is xmas eve and we always have a little tea in the house with some drinks but he never really gets anything though

FurryFox · 26/03/2007 12:50

lol at being unreasonable Happy birthday for next Monday too

And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that looks at their potential due dates

FurryFox · 26/03/2007 12:55

Daisy - Signs sound good but I am not one to symptom spot Hope you get your BFP this month

fifi - We had planned on starting ttc in April but at Christmas we decided to just get on with it. Not that it has made much difference as still not pg. maybe I'll be lucky in April...probably not though. I'm sure being 10 weeks pg will be fine while away, here's hoping if you are then you don't have bad morning sickness

scorpio1 · 26/03/2007 13:00

daisy-do a pee

im not going to skip this month (too late now already) and i certainly would not be even a tiny bit miffed,i would quite like having an excuse to do nothing, just sit on the sofa all xmas and eat dps dinner yummy .

im going on holiday on the last day of july with all 3 kids and dp,and i will be 20 weeks if i get pg this month.so no go-karting for me but sort of smug too

im also supposed to be going away in april with my parents to watch rugby, alhtough i will be something like 5-6weeks pg if i get pg this time, which im not too sure about doing.it will involve late nights, pubs and i dont think i will be up to it.will have to see

Flea-can you not get it on your mobile???

daisyboohoo · 26/03/2007 13:24

Scorpio Glad you and dp are ok now. Tried to comfort you on Friday but couln't get the page open. Think I'll have to update this ole machine!!

Cant test today...surely too early?

Actually I wouldnt be able to muster the energy to walk to the shops..

Will maybe get dp to take me when he comes home from work? Which would be best to buy?

We planned a summer baby but now we really dont mind. I think a xmas baby would be quite lovely. If me and my sister ever got big presents for birthday we were always told they were xmas presents too - her birthday is july! I think you have to make it clear that the 2 occasions are seperate and are to be celebrated seperatly. We have friends who dont put christmas tree up until after sons birthday mid december.

scorpio1 · 26/03/2007 13:28

you can get tests that are 10 miu, that could tell from now, because you are nearly at the end of your cycle.

try access diagnostics website, they are very cheap and mine always arrive next day.

the commercial ones like clearblue, etc are usually 25 miu,so cant tell you until a few days later,so if you used a clearblue for example it may be negative even if you are, because it wont pick up the small amoung of hcg in your urine.

how many days ago did you ov?

fifisworld · 26/03/2007 13:35

oohh yes go on and do one daisy

daisyboohoo · 26/03/2007 13:38

Thanks scorpio I'll have a look and try to order some.

I'm not temping so not really sure when I ov'd. Had pains on cd9-11 and ff said cd8-13 depending on cycle length which varies between 22-26 days. Then had pains from cd14- 18. Now I have a few other symptoms but keep thinking I must be imagining...

scorpio1 · 26/03/2007 13:40

PEE

so you could be like 10dpo or something?people have had + at that

hello pinkcandyfloss you brave woman, ttc 10 weeks after giving birth!

im also ttc dc3,and am expecting it to take longer, purely because of the 'stress' of life with 2 kids already.

tigerschick · 26/03/2007 14:37

Hello pcf. I agree with Scorpio, couldn't imagine trying at 10 weeks, you're much braver than me! Good luck for this month

fifisworld · 26/03/2007 17:41

Another stupid question from me...
ok so now im clued up on cd's and ewcm but, if me and dp bd last night am i right in thinking that even if i ovulate today the sperm will still be alive in me, so if we miss tonight then do it again tomorrow that should be ok?
I cant ask anyone in rl as no-one knows we are ttc so dont tell anyone

scorpio1 · 26/03/2007 18:02

fifi-i should think that is fine.i think the emphasis is on making sure the sperm are there for when the egg comes out,so if you do ov today, and shagged last night then in theory the sperm should be there.once released,an egg is fertile for 6-24 hours,so if you did it again tomorrow you may still catch it.any reason why you cant tonight?or just trying to get away with it,hee hee?

BellaBear · 26/03/2007 18:23

Hello, I stopped all the shagging and stopped posting as well!

I know I've discussed (somewhere) what day you count as CD1 (most people seem to say first day of real flow as opposed to just spotting), but last month, if I counted like that then I had a LP of twelve days, which is good. However, if I count up to first spotting, then it is only nine days which is crap. Seeing as spotting has started, surely that means period has 'started' in that it won't now stop. So what was my luteal phase last month? (prizes for good answers!)

tigerschick · 26/03/2007 18:30

42!

BellaBear · 26/03/2007 18:31

a box of chocolates for tigerschick for the first comedy answer!

fifisworld · 26/03/2007 18:38

just trying to get away with it
i feel so so tired today for some reason, i cant even be bothered to move

tigerschick · 26/03/2007 18:51

Ooh thank you Bella I like this game!

Fifi - have one of my chocolates, it'll make you feel better, one way or another!

Seriously tho, Bella, I know next to nothing about all this (I found dd under a gooseberry bush, I'm sure ) but I'd say that, once spotting has started, you're gonna have a period. Whether you count it as cd1 or not, it's gotta be the end of your lp, surely!? I'd be very happy to be corrected on this - it's just a gut feeling

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 27/03/2007 00:59

I wish I had a regular cycle... Now CD8, AF not quite cleared off yet but definately has bags packed, given she stayed 3 weeks last time that is good! I have started on grapefruit juice but TBH I am bored of it already - just can't imagine drinking it everyday for the next couple of months until AF comes again! Am far too lazy to chart temps to predict ov so guess will just have to keep at it and hope for the best! BTW BellaBear, I always count first day of spotting as CD1 (although guess it depends on how heavy the spotting is).
daisyboohoo - did you decide whether to test yet or not?? I would (but then I have no willpower ).
Pinkcandyfloss - you are very brave! Mind you, wish I'd started ttc no3 that soon, maybe I'd have him/her by now!
