Conception

2 week wait - again!

It's that time of the month again. The dreaded two week wait. 3rd month of trying and 1st month using ovulation kits.

Last month I convinced myself I was pregnant and obviously wasn't so trying not to do that this month.

Finding the whole process very draining to be honest. DH and I don't have very high sex drives. We're normally once a week people and are both fine with that. So having to do the deed when neither of us really want to is not as fun as I'd hoped! But we managed 3 times in ovulation week this month so fingers crossed.

Anyone else want a 2ww buddy? Smile

Good luck to you MrsG!! I've got 5days left to wait, not getting my hopes up though just in case. Xx

Hey duckling!! I understand exactly what you are saying however (and I can only speak for myself here) at the grand old age of nearly 36 ttc our first and after 8 cycles still absolutely nothing it does get kind of worrying!! I too started off with the it'll happen when it happens approach thinking I'd be pregnant as soon as I came off the pill but as time cracks on I have started to monitor my cycles and this is my first month of using opks - something I didn't really want to do as I didn't want it to be regimented, I wanted it to be all hearts and flowers and we'd conceive and live happily ever after!!! I'm worried about my age and that there's something wrong with one of us and that it's possible we'll never have our own children. So for me, that's why I do it. But I get you!! 😉 Xx

Hi duckling I totally get your point and do wonder what it would be like TTC without all the information you can get at the click of a button or on the end of a stick. I wasn't tracking this month as we weren't actively trying (supposed to be having a break from TTC due to timings of various things) however our oops moment was probably in my fertile week, based on previous ovulation. The TWW is still a drag though and even though the chances of a bfp are pretty slim with just the one oops moment, i'all probably still be just as disappointed when AF shows than if I had pulled all the stops out.

Hi duckling. Like you I had DC almost 10 years ago (yikes! He turns 10 in two weeks) and although I monitored my temps I was very laid back about it. Oddly, the month I fell pregnant was the month I didn't think it would happen as temps were all over the place.
This time round it's a little different. Age isn't on my side. I've only just started down this road again and at the moment we're taking a very relaxed approach. I'm sure that if nothing happens within 6 months I'll be making the most of all the technology at our fingertips. Yes, it takes the spontaneity out of it but time is moving along faster than I'd like and my window is getting more and more narrow with every passing year.

Hey ladies.

Wondering what the earliest time I can test is? I'm only 4 dpo now so still some way off. The only tests I have are the Internet cheepies, a boots cheepie and the digital clear blue. I'd rather not buy anymore!

Do I need to wait the full 14 dpo?

Report
Oggy88 · 21/11/2016 07:52

Wanting, there is a website countdowntopregnancy.com, which gives you stats by dpo and tells how likely you are to get a bfp at any dpo. Dangerous place for symptom spotters and poas addicts like myself, though.

Hi Ladies,

Going to join in if thats okay. Due to test next Monday/Tuesday.
Don't think it is my month, think I ovulated really early!

Next month I am going to start CB ovulation sticks I think.

Symptoms are really sore boobs - but that is kinda normal for me. I think they feel worse then previous months but that could be wishful thinking.
Feel hungry in bed every night - but again may be I should eat more in the evenings Grin
This week is busy for me and brother is getting married on Saturday so hopefully it wont be to much on my mind!

Oh Oggy i may have to have a wander over to that website on my lunch today!

Hi Duckling. I completely agree. I'm using OPKs this month and I think if I don't get a BFP, despite DTD 3 times around ovulation, I'll be thinking, what's wrong with me! I never imagined the whole process could be this draining. I suffer from anxiety anyway and it's really taking its toll xx

Hi Hellsbells. Just wanted to say good luck and hello.

AF is due on Sat so I've got 5 days to go. I'm not feeling any symptoms though (but then, I thought I had every pregnancy symptom under the sun last month and was wrong!)

Hey guys. Think I'm in my 2ww now judging by my OPK. I'm 2DPO today I think. Probably going to test on Sunday 4th Dec if AF hasn't arrived by then.

Thanks oggy, I'll have a look.

I'll try and wait another 7 / 8 days and test around the same time as hells. Then I'll be 11 / 12 dpo so something should show up if there's anything to show!

I would normally wait until a missed period but it's my DH birthday about 12DPO, this Friday, so think I might do a secret test just in case it is positive - an extra wee present for him.
However not feeling any differently, apart from slightly sore boobs. Although the half hourly prod they are getting is probably responsible for that! I actually feel a bit like af is about to show her ugly mug so I may be out before I even get to Friday!

Duckling I get what you mean. I personally am a bit of a control freak so the "relaxed approach" would never work for me. I need to see that things are happening, and as it happens I ovulated super early this month so had I not been using OPKs I would have probably missed ovulation. So I think its a good thing that we have the choice really.

I'm glad it's not only me who thinks this way. I'm a complete control freak so if the apps, OPKs etc are there, I'm going to be using them
And peeing on everything that even minimally resembles a stick!
It's draining and all consuming and affects my mental state to a point I would never have believed possible

I'm a total stress head control freak obsessive which is exactly the reason why I have to keep it all fun/relaxed! Lol

Felt sick all morning again but not enough to be sick.

2ww starts today for me! I'm saying I wont test early (test day 3/12) but I know I will! Ttc number two after a mc in August at 3 months. Ttc nearly a year now x

Eek on the verge of testing, even though it's too early! One of the reasons we were having a break from TTC is because of a wedding abroad next September. My friends have found perfect accommodation for us and want to book tomorrow. I obviously won't be able to go to the wedding if pregnant so really need to know if I am or not. Will be between 9-11 DPO tomorrow as I'm not sure of exact O date, so it's a bit too early to test! Oh the dilemma!!

Well ladies I'm cd 24 and there's either a very aggressive egg gnawing it's way into my uterus lining or I'm gonna be early - which is just not like me!! 😥

Well I think I might be out this month Sadaf not due to the weekend but I feel like I have my usual stonking hormonal headache that I get a few days before. On a slightly tmi note I have been having some really strange bowel movements the last few days.

Bassetmum, that's strange, weird bowel movements for me too. Really dodgy tum last few days. Maybe just the anxiety of it all. 12 days past ovulation for me now and no symptoms still Confused

Hi all

I haven't been ttc but af is late and I'm beginning to think I might be pregnant

Dtd on day 20 of cycle when I thought ovulation had passed. Had spotting on day 28. Now day 32 of cycle and feel very much like my period is coming but am testing negative still, but this could me because it's still less than 2 weeks from ovulation

Anyone else had similar?
