Conception

2 week wait - again!

It's that time of the month again. The dreaded two week wait. 3rd month of trying and 1st month using ovulation kits.

Last month I convinced myself I was pregnant and obviously wasn't so trying not to do that this month.

Finding the whole process very draining to be honest. DH and I don't have very high sex drives. We're normally once a week people and are both fine with that. So having to do the deed when neither of us really want to is not as fun as I'd hoped! But we managed 3 times in ovulation week this month so fingers crossed.

Anyone else want a 2ww buddy? Smile

If I was in your position I would probably try an early response test before going on the boozy weekend (and also because I'm a papa addict, haha). Fx for you!

Thanks! What is poas?! I am afraid to do the early response test because of the disappointment if it's negative (have tested a few times before...)!

I am also 38 and my oh is 40, had my first February 2013.
I'm not taking a test until my period is late. I'm not due until 29th so a while off yet. Should we be "doing it" a frequently so to speak even though my ovulation time has passed?really want to up my chances of getting pregnant again !!

Well I would just have sex when you want to, I'd hate for my DP to not want to do it due to it being the wrong timing. DP is coming home tonight and we're probably a week past ovulation but plan on spending the weekend in bed! Lol!
I've woke up today feeling great, no sickness or sore boobs anymore so fingers crossed that was ovulation signs and roll on AF so I can have a rough idea of my cycle!

Sory af got you charley. I was just doing the hoovering and I had what I can only describe as being stabbed with a pin on the left side of my uterus area. Really need to stop symptom spotting hahaha.

So we're in the last week of waiting!!!

Anyone else get a stitch-like feeling during their cycle but it's much lower than a stitch would be?! Xx

I've had some symptoms these past couple of weeks but it's hard to tell, it's our first time trying opks for a few years (been ttc#2 6 years now Confused) so it hard not to symptom spot!! I had cramps at 6/7/8dpo (going by cbd I've never noticed in my cycle before, plus heavy bb and sensitive nipples. only get cramps after I start with af, I've noticed a few 'stretches' around my uterus if that's like what your having sarah? I'm going to test on Thursday, fx for bfp for everyone xx

Huge congratulations Julie!! X

I've woke up this morning with a stotting bad head and feeling sick again. I think it's the headache that's making me feel sick though.

How's everyone else?

Congratulations Julie, excellent to see a BFP in the thread.
Sorry the witch got you Charley, our bodies can be so cruel! Mine however is just the same as always, not even a sniff of a symptom as I enter week 2 of the wait! Unless the cold counts as I'm pretty sure that's on its way!
Hope everyone else has a lovely Sunday, i'll be sulking in a corner studying before my night-shift tonight Sad

Hello ladies, can I join?

CD 21 for me. AF due in about 10 days. Only my third cycle off the pill (and second ttc) so not too sure on length - first was 34 days, second was 28 so I'm taking 31 days as average. I think I ovulated quite late - got a positive on CD 17. Didn't DTD much during fertile week for various reasons, only on 15, 17 and 21, so not holding out to much hope this month. Difficult not to hope though!

sarahboro1 · 20/11/2016 11:58

It's weird Bertie, around 4 days post ovulation I got cramps really low and central but yesterday it was like a stretch / stitch just to one side!! No wonder I went on the pill for 12 years, I've never felt so ill since coming off it!!!!

Welcome wantingbaby1 fx for you!! Xx

Congrats Julie. That's fab news! That gives me hope. Have you had many symptoms yet?

One of my very good friends announced her pregnancy yesterday. I thought I would be jealous, but actually I'm just delighted for her. She lost her baby at 22 weeks earlier this year. I was worried I'd get pregnant first and it would hurt her so I'm relieved in a way x

I'm not in the 2ww myself, but I've got a question... As helpful as the OPK's and the apps etc can be, do you not think that it makes the whole process so regimented and organised that you have no chance of adopting a 'whatever happens' approach? If you dtd during fw, track cm religiously, take temperatures like a mad woman, it's hard to think you've not done everything you can possibly do and therefore it must be inevitable you conceived. So when/if you get that bfn, it's perhaps more crushing than if you'd just 'winged' it?
I did this with my first two children. There were no apps back then. We just went at it! This time around, 8 years later, I'm definitely much more stressed about it all, though that could be to do with the fact I'm now in my 30's and am fully aware that the clock is ticking!
Sorry to hijack your thread OP! I

I'm jumping in, currently 2/3dpo! A long 12 days left ahead of me. Going to test on 3rd Dec if AF hasn't shown her face.
