want baby number 3 at 30, am i to old??

I have 2 children and a step daughter, my dd is 8 my ds is 20 months and my sd is 9, i am longing for another baby and my dh has just agreed we can try for another next year, i will be 30 by then. am i too old and mad, my family think im mad and my sister said its to old more so that i have 1 of each plus a sd. Also the big downer is money, we bring a good amount in but a lot goes out, debt and stuff, is there anybody out there that has four children and no money if so am i doing the right thing and will i cope????.

Too old? Are you mad? The AVERAGE age for a first baby is now late twenties. In what way too old? Why too old? I don't get this. I don't think any of my friends didn't have babies after 30. I had my two at 38 and 41. And what has it got to do with your family anyway?

You're not too old, but I actually think the question is more of a financial one.

Q: Am I too old?
A: Hardly, a lot of the mums on here only had their first child in their 30's

Q: Will I cope?
A: Certainly - you'll have no choice

As for family thinking you are bonkers - well it isn't any of their business is it?

Uh oh, I hope you're not too old - I've just had my first and I'm 31! My mum had her 4th at 40 and she loved it - if its what you really want then go for it I say especially if you have the support of your DH xxx

not old at all. I have just had no.3[have a ds 3 and dd 13mths]. I am 30 this year and hope to have another baby in 2/3 yrs or so all being well.

all the factors such as money are ones oly tou can decide about.

BUT 30 is in no way shape or form too old. Many women don't have their first baby until their mid 30s. My sil was 35 2 weeks after her dd was born and i have many friends who were well into thier 30s before thay started a family.....

I was 29 when I had dd (my first) and at my nct/nhs antenatal classes was the youngest ! Am now 31 and still consider myself relatively young to be trying for another...

HOWEVER, in your shoes I would focus on trying to bring the debt down a bit before having another mouth to feed, body to clothe etc.

i think it the fact that i had my dd at 19, she thinks i'll be an old mum, thank you 4 all your support is nice to hear from everybody. obviously the money is a big thing too. xx

Why are you listening to what your family think rather than what you want?

I had my first at 30 and my third at 34. You're definitely not too old!

Re the money: if everyone waited until they could afford to have to children, the human race would have died out. You'll manage!

I understand some people have babies at 19, is it too much to ask for others to understand that some women have them at 40?

i dont feel old,but when people are telling you that its to old it gets you thinking. thank u all. xx
