Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like 'something' = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Hello all, I am completely failing at keeping up with this thread people probably can't even remember that I rejoined I am post so little but I do always read :)

zyla there is still hope I have everything x!

cori I have just got by Bmi down to 29.7, I am wanting to loose a bit more before we officially start trying again but we keep did during my fertile period whoops any who I am back to dieting and soo hungry lol!

tink I love Martina :)

Welcome all newbies too :)

I use the occasional opk, I think I will start using them again as my cycle seems to be shortening to 25 days, so not sure when u am ovulating now! WHAT can I do to lengthen it again?

blackcherries · 12/11/2016 09:11

cookie excuse my ignorance but why would you want to lengthen your cycle? Mine's about 25-26 days. I ovulate around day 14/15

angelazul · 12/11/2016 11:36

Howdy vidroids, how's everyone?

Welcome to the newbies, come on in & join us, but maybe leave your inhibitions at the door Wink

Got date for my next fc appt - 6 th Dec. It said on the letter that it's a review appt, so not sure if they'll do the hsg then or not. I got my ovarian reserve checked last time I was there, so hopefully get the results of that back.

curliegirlie · 12/11/2016 13:18

[black cherries] possibly because a shorter cycle could indicate a shorter LP, which is potentially problematic.

Hi everyone [waves]. I might as well join you lovely viroids, as my period has recently returned after having my DD (14 months), and despite my best intentions to track my cycles so I know what's going on, I've been a bit rubbish temping this month, and can imagine being rubbish going forward...

Have absolutely no notion of when AF might arrive. Last cycle was 26 days. This cycle I'm not sure I've ovulated, or certainly not when I expected to. In fact, I've been seeing a lot of EWCM in the past few days, so may be in for a long cycle this time....

kwick · 12/11/2016 14:50

Welcome curlie!!!

cookielove · 12/11/2016 17:47

black what curlie said! If my luteal phase is too short the egg won't implant. If I am ovulating early enough then it won't be an issue. I use to have a 28 day cycle and i conceived twice with one successful pregnancy but wasn't really aware of length if cycle before I be caught with ds :)

blackcherries · 12/11/2016 22:21

thanks. Now I'm getting a bit worried, I used to have longer cycles too before I conceived DS1.
Feeling bit down as GP has been quite dismissive. You know on all the 'guidance' and OPKs etc it says to go to see your GP if you've been trying for over 6 months and you're over 35. They have been telling me there's nothing to do if I'm having regular AF and have conceived once. But I'm really impatient and want to know if something's wrong. Need to stop being so obsessed with age gaps but it's just adding to the feeling of time running out!

justtheonethen · 12/11/2016 22:54

Hi all

Lovely to have some newbies here too, welcome Smile

Not had time to read back properly but hope all is well. Any more bfps?

cherries and others don't worry too much about actual cycle length, it's only a problem if you have a short lp- the time after ovulation. Normal luteal phase is 10-16 days. If it's less than that you need to talk to la who had some success with vit b if I'm remembering correctly.

Sorry I missed the wine party tink and zyla, raising a prosecco to you now.

I'm having a miserable day, I feel like I'm never going to get pregnant. I'm trying not to be annoyed with DH and his cheery, endlessly optimistic "this will be the month" attitude. Bless him, he's trying to keep me positive, unfortunately he doesn't realise I have lost all hope at this point. Gah, pity party for one here! Blush

cookielove · 13/11/2016 07:39

black sorry I don't mean to worry you! Have you had any + ovulation tests?

Also what do you prefer black or cherries?

blackcherries · 13/11/2016 08:34

cookie don't mind although I'll probably notice 'cherries' better!
Not had any tests apart from opks which I'm aware only test for the lh hormone. Have asked for blood tests but gp won't do them. Going to book private consultation with scan bit not sure whether to do bloods as well as it costs loads more (test as well as another appt to discuss results). Still hopeful everything is ok just want to discount or discover any obvious issues.

corgi88 · 13/11/2016 12:28

Squee just your !!! Oooooh. Sending you cuddles and gin - I know it will happen. Are you on the ivf waiting list now?

Welcome to newbies! And hi again ditsy! Hope the clomid works for you.
Scottish how are you getting on with your womble playing silly buggers?
Zyla sorry for bfn Wine

kwick · 13/11/2016 13:31

Hiya just Sorry you are feeling low... I know what you mean, feeling fairly despondent myself so trying to distract myself with food consumption and home improvemnt plans.not working too well though

I REALLY hope my follicles have had a growth spurt this weekend - otherwise I am going to start freaking Shock

Back to distraction: anyone ever put vinyl/lino on stairs?

Canters15 · 13/11/2016 13:59

corgi I think the scans improve outcome thing was me- something I was told at an o+g talk I was at a couple of years ago. The other take home point from that talk that is relevant to you was that chance of take home baby was still excellent for third pregnancy after two miscarriages. I'm glad you've decided to have the scan, fwiw I had a private scan at 7+5 and was TA and easily able to see heart beat.

Sooooo I'm having a baby tomorrow! Have just veeted my minge in preparation which was a challenge at 39+1.

Big hugs to everyone struggling, I intend to raise a glass of prosecco to you all later in the week!

JaneEyreWasASellout · 13/11/2016 15:39

Geeup canters hope it all goes brilliantly and the doctors and mw aren't nonks and let us know once you're cleaned up and perky! Or cleaned up and drugged. Or both! Even better.
Can't remember who asked but try to convince them to give you letrozole instead of clomiphene. Fewer and less severe side effects, and some studies even suggest a better success rate, although only very marginally so. I know nothing

CountryGal4 · 13/11/2016 18:32

Sad just. There isn't really anything I can say to make you feel better other than yell at your parents in encouragement. You'll get your baby. You really will. Even if I have to ruddy steal one for you! Bless mister just. That's dead sweet.

angelazul · 13/11/2016 22:28

Best of luck for tomorrow Canters, so exciting!!!

Just keep you're chin up girl, you will get there x

AF arrived today, shortest cycle so far at 24 days. But I'm not going to freak out too much about it, I'm onto a shiny new cycle & I will ice this cycle, no ifs ands or buts.

ZylaB · 14/11/2016 08:44

Cd 35, 14 days after possible icing. Bfn and ominous stomach cramps, knew I was out.

kwick · 14/11/2016 09:42

OMG canters BEST OF LUCK!!!!!

That is the spirit angel!!!
