Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like 'something' = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

I have to admit I have my doubts sometimes kwick. Could you have taken a reaction to something???

Flingmoo · 19/09/2016 21:59

Hiya, can I join you?! I am new to JS. I conceived my first baby in the first cycle of trying so this time I'm really uptight and expecting it to happen instantly even though I know it was probably just a fluke the first time round!

AF due any day now. POAS today was negative. Hopped on the October bus on here and started having wild thoughts of temping and charting... Which just seems ridiculous considering that I have no reason to suspect fertility issues.

So here I am... reading the acronym list alone cracked me up so that's good enough motivation to join you. Hopefully being part of the JS clan will make me chill out and shag more, worry less...

When is a sensible time to POAS, by the way?! With my first baby I did it around the day AF was due, and it came back negative, it only came back positive when AF was 2 weeks overdue. So do I need to wait til then?

Name: Mamushka
Age: 26
DC: 1 DS, age 2.5
TTC: Since 2 weeks ago!

coribeth · 19/09/2016 22:24

Welcome mamu I guess the poas thing is different for everyone I never got a positive for my ds had a scan to confirm even though I was six months at that point and could feel him moving!?!? Even the blood test came back negative! Think I must be some kind of medical anomaly!

kwick · 20/09/2016 08:18

Welcome mamushka!
What pregnancy test did you use last time? With a FRER you should be able to get a BFP from day AF is due, if not before.

angel the only thing I think it can be is washing powder - but it is one I have used before without issue Angry today I am not even wearing a proper boobage holder as I could not face it, instead I am wearing a comfort support - which is what I sleep in.

Flingmoo · 20/09/2016 09:00

Well my POAS are from Poundland so I suppose I can't be too surprised if they're a bit unreliable Blush

Flingmoo · 20/09/2016 14:48

Well the bitch is 2 days overdue but even with morning wee today POAS was negative. So I guess I'll just have to resist the temptation to keep ripping open more packs and testing constantly. I bet AF will be here soon. Sometimes she keeps me waiting just to get me all excited, then she turns up anyway. Pfft.

kwick · 20/09/2016 15:53

AF is like that mamushka Angry mine has yet to show after stopping progesterone on Sunday - so I keep widly hoping all the BFN were wrong but when I was preggers I got BFPs with every POAS I did.
Blimey loads of people crying at clinic today - clearly not a good month for them.

angelazul · 20/09/2016 16:51

Welcome mamushka AF is such a witch sometimes.

Had appt at fc - turns out dh has high level of anti-sperm antibodies, which basically means his immune system is attacking his little swimmers. They did bloods today to check my ovarian reserve & I've to go back for hsg. If that's all ok then we'll go on waiting list for ivf, so all in all probably about 1 year before we start treatment. I know I should be happy that we know what the issue is, but completely floored by it & I feel gutted SadSadSad

kwick · 20/09/2016 20:08

angel honeybunny!!!! I know it is gutting to find out you are fallible but there is treatment to help you - and you have time to have a good go at it.

justtheonethen · 20/09/2016 20:26

angel that's a shame, sorry lovely. BUT at least you know and are on the right path now. It doesn't mean it can't happen naturally necessarily. Did they tell you what the level was?
Feel for you lovely, sending Wine and Cake and hugs

kwick hope your body makes itself clear one way or another soon!

mamushka what a bugger af is Sad

justtheonethen · 20/09/2016 20:26

Sorry cori......you didn't know you were pg?!

coribeth · 20/09/2016 21:24

Yeah I knew it was convincing the doctor who thought I was a 19 year old nut job! X

coribeth · 20/09/2016 21:33

Feeling completely crap today deffo coming down with summit and my boss is driving me mental so am avoiding and keeping a low profile to the point where she took me in the office and asked if I had problems at home cos I'd been so quiet! Wanted to yell no you stupid git I've got problems at work namely you! But settled with a feeling a bit crap! Damn my polite Britishness Angry

justtheonethen · 20/09/2016 22:20

cori Angry bloody work. Rest up lovely. How funny, bet he was shamefaced after!

ChatEnOeuf · 20/09/2016 22:28

Welcome, Mamu! I only ever get a BFP about 3-4 days late. Except when it was twins...

Angel at least there's a plan now. Try not to get down - it only takes one.

Hope you're holding it together Kwick - AF will Rock up at a most inconvenient time I'm sure.

angelazul · 21/09/2016 06:39

Thanks vidroids, think i need to get my head around it a bit. IVF is the thing I've been dreading, it scares the crap out of me.

Just we didn't think to ask the levels, I wish now that we had though. Hubby's GP had got results back a couple on months ago & more or less said everything was fine, so we totally weren't expecting it. I think we were both in a bit of shock & not really thinking straight.

kwick · 21/09/2016 07:50

angel IVF is not so bad. What bit scares you? I just have tried to focus on task at hand - and not the whole picture. So for example if it is a scan day then I concentrate on that. If you have to inject to stimulate the needles are small and it is not very painful. Chances are you won't need the additional intramuscular progesterone injections. Anyway I am here if you have any questions or concerns and TBH if I can do it, anyone can!

Am still it itchy like crazy but am going to try and ignore with some prework retail therapy. Still no sign of AF but am wearing beige knickers so won't be long now.

angelazul · 21/09/2016 08:10

Thanks Kwick. The whole package is really overwhelming, but I think it's the hormonal side of things freaks me out worst, I had hormonal imbalance after coming off the pill & it wasn't pleasant. I think I need to try to put that to the back of my mind & cross that bridge when/if we come to it. Gx the witch appears soon - have you tried changing your bedsheets??

cookielove · 21/09/2016 16:17

kwick do you think you will do another test or wait for af?

kwick · 21/09/2016 18:09

angel maybe natural IUI or IVF could be an option - where there is minimal drug intervention?
Also it is not so much of getting a hormone imbalance as getting lush, juicy and ripe Grin
Sheets will be changed tomorrow - I washed them yesterday.
Beige knickers on... Womble feels like it is in hyper contraction mode but still no AF

cookie your question is very timely... I think I will test again if no AF by the time I get home, simply because I am now back on DHEA and coenzyme supplements and cortisone for itchiness which you should not take if upduffedand also because I am an eternal optimist and feel like pissing away a five

corgi88 · 21/09/2016 18:42

howdy all. popping on to send unmumsnetty hugs to angel - hope you are ok, it's understandable that it's all really overwhelming. kwick I'm still keeping my gx secretly crossed for you but have some hugs anyway....
welcome mamu!
NFMV: 8dpo, desperate to POAS. (Sore nips but those have happened before and I have got excited only to have AF arrive ... never trust the boobs!)

cookielove · 21/09/2016 18:47

I really want you to be upduffed kwick haven't know you for long but still rooting for a little beany! Will cross everything :)

kwick · 21/09/2016 20:03

Af is in da house!

kwick · 21/09/2016 20:06

Fanks corgi and cookie - means a lot

Flingmoo · 21/09/2016 20:55

Already announced this on the October bus but I actually got my BFP today! Well, in my case BFP stands for Bloody Faint Positive... Despite testing negative yesterday. I'm 3 days overdue AF but what can I say, Poundland POAS are a bit rubbish.

It was only my first cycle so DH is disappointed we will not need months of rampant shagging... Will have to shag him anyway in solidarity with you lot - despite only joining you yesterday Blush
