TTC No. 3

hello! have been ttc no.3 since last april now. ds took about 3 or 4 cycles to concieve and dd 1 cycle, so i am finding this hard to get my head round!

the main reason for starting this thread, if anyone is interested, is that sometimes i feel really bad chatting on the other threads about age gap concerns, how i will cope with another one etc....when lots of other 'posters' are ttc no.1.

it makes me feel a bit guilty going on about no.3 when some other MNers have such tragic stories.

anyway, i know there are a few of you out there also ttc no.3. Do you all have big houses and cars?

I think its a little bit addictive to have babies, I mean they are really sweet and then everybody you know surprises you with cards and gifts and love.
And when you have a growing family you know that they change and the hardest bits don't last forever...just that love.
So yes I'd like to be back for four. I know a women with 7 who is addicted to babies, not even Catholic.

honeyapple · 24/01/2007 09:52

I think i am addicted to babies...then they grow up and the relationship you have changes and matures... I think there is something incredibly amazing about the relationship you have with a newborn/young baby... that is what I crave!!! Not that i don't love my two growing up- I do it's great- but it's just different.

I would love to have a home birth for no. 3.

goingfor3 · 24/01/2007 10:53

I think I will always be broody but I know that if we have more than three all of the children will miss out on our time and on activities.

greedyforbabies · 24/01/2007 20:39

i worry about that too goingfor3. how can you possibly spread yourself around lots of kids!....i find it tough giving 2 of them enough time and attention sometimes! ( especially now i have discovered MN!!!!!!)
i was supposed to have a home birth for no.2, but it didnt happen cos i had gastroenteritis just before going into labour. i have now changed my mind though and i dont think i would like one next time!

Greedy try a hb its fab. (Goodasgold is a Homebirth Evangelist I know)
You will always find the time and money-remember what its like with one new born and you think how the hell I am going to manage to... and then you just do.
Well lets take one baby at a time.

fruitful · 24/01/2007 21:35

Honeyapple, I could happily skip the baby stage and go straight to about 18 months. In fact I'd like to skip pregnancy, and the cs that I'll have to have, and the whole nipple-biting no-sleep separation-anxiety bit. Toddlers rock. And 4-yr-olds are great too. Beyond that, I have no experience! Mostly I think I'm mad to want more kids, and then I look at my family at dinnertime and just know that there are unfilled places at the table.

GfB - I've planned homebirths for both mine, and had caeseareans. A little part of me thinks that if I plan a cs this time, well, I might just get [whispers] a homebirth ...

greedyforbabies · 24/01/2007 21:39

fruitful - i am sure that will work cos i planned a waterbirth for my first and then left it too late and was practically giving birth in the car so couldn't have one. BUT second time i planned a home birth and was ill, so had to go into hospital but ended up having the water birth i wanted first time round!!!!!

OP posts:
fruitful · 24/01/2007 21:49

I think I'll just take what I get this time. No time or energy for any planning!

honeyapple · 25/01/2007 09:43

hi fruitful and everyone else TTC no.3.
Well, I reckon I'm going to wait until i actually get PG before I talk too much about the birth!
Toddlers are great as are 4 yr old and 5 yr olds and 6yr olds and 7 yr olds and 8 yr olds... havent got any further... but, I love babies! I loved being PG, I loved B/fing... of course it's sh*t too- no sleep, cant booze or go out at all (or only for 4 hrs before baby needs a feed) etc..
I agree about seeing places that need filling around the table. My DC are quite spread in age so I dont have such a problem giving them equal attention- tend to put DD to bed and then do something with DS on his own- play cards/ read a book.. I do think it will be difficult to continue all this with a baby, but heh, bring it on!

mum03 · 26/01/2007 18:47

Greedy - how could you, I thought you were going to wait for me in March to conceive.... oh well....
No seriously congratulations on getting your bfp and being pg with no.3, (or 3 AND 4 - with your dh's "rambo" sperm, you never know!!!)
I hope I will join you soon with a bfp.

greedyforbabies · 26/01/2007 20:07

thanks mum03! sorry about the whole march thing! i genuinely didnt think i had a hope in hell of getting a BFP this month! i still can't quite believe it!
guess i will have to start a 'pg with no.3 thread' and wait for you all to join me soon. (please!)

JoAndTheBoys · 26/01/2007 20:10

Greedy, I'm so pleased for you!!!
Congratulations! What will your due date be?

To think how convinced you were that it wasn't going to happen this month... I bet it felt fab putting that little + on your chart!

I really hope I'll be joining you soon...

ItsMeMellowma · 26/01/2007 20:11

Lucky greedy! Congratulations!

fruitful · 26/01/2007 22:58

Fantastic! Get that "pg with no 3" thread going and we'll all be along to join you in a mo!

madness · 26/01/2007 23:07

congrat greedy!!!
BTW, saw something about your dh wanting to buy a new car. That was how I persuaded DH to go for a third one, so that he could by a new and bigger car...(we now have both)

PeckaRolloverAgain · 26/01/2007 23:13

I lost a baby over christmas. Had tried for 2 months.

I now cant decide what to do about trying again

madness · 26/01/2007 23:20

Pecka, I had a mc before my third dc. DH wanted to give the idea of a third one up after my dc, but I felt "more determined" to have a further go, I felt the mc would otherwise have been a wast of time, if that makes sense...

greedyforbabies · 27/01/2007 09:16

hope you are ok pecka, i watched your thread over christmas time and it broke my heart. it certainly wasn't straight forward and easy for you was it. i hope that the 2 that you have help to take your mind off things a bit.

OP posts:
PeckaRolloverAgain · 27/01/2007 10:15

greedy are you the same greedy i was on the TTC thread with?

I must admit in a sick, twisted sense of humour way I laughed to myself that I jinxed myself with all the talk of how easily I fall pregnant. hmmm not so easy after all is it!

Im thrilled for you that you are preggo

greedyforbabies · 27/01/2007 10:23

thanks pecka! yes thats me!
