Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

I also got my BFP 13dpo and it was really clear so 12 definitely not too early! It just doesn't mean you're out yet if it's not either :)

marmitecheesetoast · 05/08/2016 23:09

If you've got a nice sensitive one im hopeful for another two line pic tomorrow! But as jj says, if it's bfn definitely doesn't mean you're out yet either!

I'm still feeling fairly mental, it hasn't sunk in at all. But it's early days yet. I'm apparently about 3wks pregnant so estimated due date would be second week of April sometime. I didn't realise they count it from basically when your produce an egg.

jj I wouldn't feel guilty about drinking, it doesn't sound like you're going crazy and you definitely deserve to let your hair down for a bit just now!

Eva30 · 05/08/2016 23:22

busy I go through phases like that too. When people tell me they've got pg by accident or without trying winds me up the most lol. I have moment where I feel so down and that something is wrong with me. But must remember there's only a 25% chance each month even with perfect timing so it might take a while. Our time will come busySmile
pyjamas lol with your mocktail story - sounds like some kind of health kick smoothie, definitely needs a dash of alcohol. I'll check back in the morning, good luck for testing!!
Hi skipper yes gp should be able to run the basic tests to see if any issues and then go from there. I read that 80% of problems can easily be resolved with a visit to GP eg meds so I'll be paying a visit if it doesn't happen by Xmas.
jj your temps look good. When are you testing?

Blissfulignorance · 06/08/2016 03:23

I'm working nights and I'm so keen to know your result pj that I may actually have to stay awake in the morning until you've posted. Got everything crossed!!

Pyjamas81 · 06/08/2016 06:18

BFN Sad Nothing, not even a squinter of a line whichever way I look at it. Big fat Not Pregnant on CB digital as well.

AF not here yet but am now preparing for her to arrive! I know I'm not out of the game yet, but I would have expected at least a faint line. Will keep testing until AF arrives, but not much hope! That's it - am ignoring all symptoms next month and I may even drop temping.

On the plus side - the disappointment I felt when I saw the the BFNs at least showed me I do really want a BFP!

Daisy111 · 06/08/2016 07:46

to busy and Pj - sorry to hear, but it will happen soon!

Marmite, how did pretending not to drink go? It was terrible for me, so obvious, but there's really nothing you can do when sitting round a dining table and someone hands you a massive glass of wine. I did some pretend sipping, but it was painfully obvious the level didn't change all night. And one girl pointedly asked me when we're planning kids... Oh well, can't do much about it.

Blissfulignorance · 06/08/2016 07:55

Sad face pj it's not over yet though. Lots of love

Pyjamas81 · 06/08/2016 09:17

Thanks guys - annoying, but oh well, nothing I can do other than wait! My temp is now being weird - v slight dip today (chart below). Honestly might give up the temping side of things if AF shows this time around - not sure temping as soon as I open my eyes then analysing it is good for my mental wellbeing!

First time TTC - thread 2
Jjspoon · 06/08/2016 09:20

Oh pj that's a shame :(. Don't count yourself out yet though fx it's too early. And like you said you know how much you want it now!

eva the temps just look crazy to me! I don't think I will test this month unless af doesn't come for a long time or I have mega symptoms as I have no idea what this cycle is doing. I think I might have ovulated last Sat/sunday purely going by ewcm so I'll probably test next Sunday about 14pdo if af not here but we only dtd once in my fertile days so highly doubt we caught it! Didn't want to put pressure on us this month after my mc so just taking it easy. Next cycle I'll be back in full ttc mode and will go for it again lol.

marmitecheesetoast · 06/08/2016 10:02

Sorry pyjamas you're not out yet though. Will you try again tomorrow or wait til Monday if still no AF? Did you use 10ml sensitivity whatsit ones?

dasiy I can't believe they said that to you! How unhelpful and inappropriate! I told my friend I was getting over a UTI and so thought I better not drink. Seemed to work ok!
I have got a friend coming round for 'wine and cheese' tonight though Blush will use the UTI story again and stick to the boring hard cheeses

Pyjamas81 · 06/08/2016 10:20

Hi marmite - yep, will try again tomorrow, you never know, but at least I'm properly expecting a bfn now! Am using FRERs and the Clearblue digital ones - no idea how sensitive they are! Think FRERs have a better reputation for sensitivity, so might just buy a bunch of those and a couple of CB so I can see it in writing if/when I get a bfp on a FRER!

Feeling a bit better after doing my exercise dvd. Have to remember this was only our first proper month! And whatever happens, I think getting this bfn was a valuable lesson for me.

Good luck with the UTI story tonight! I can't believe they asked you that either daisy!

Keeping fx for you jj

Eva30 · 06/08/2016 23:26

Only just checking in, been rushed off my feet today.
I'm so sorry pyjamas. It sounds a bit like my first cycle, attached picture (ignore the first week or so I was getting used to temping). It went crazy up and down and then levelled out with AF was getting ready to show her face.
Like you said it's only your first cycle, don't be disheartened.

Pyjamas81 · 06/08/2016 23:32

Thanks Eva - seeing your chart is useful! Will be interest to see my what my temp does tomorrow - today was CD32 and still no sign of AF. So annoying! Will just keep testing until something happens.

How are you getting on?

Pyjamas81 · 07/08/2016 06:47

Another BFN for me on a FRER this morning - but at least I was expecting it! Am on CD33 now, no AF. My temp went up again today. So. Confusing.

marmitecheesetoast · 07/08/2016 11:15

sorry pyjamas Flowers I think sometimes our cycles just like to mess with us! Weird about your temps though. Hang on in there and try and distract yourself!

Pyjamas81 · 07/08/2016 12:00

Hi Marmite (just waved at you on other thread Smile - I have no one to talk about all this, so nice to have these groups of lovely ladies!). Yep - my cycle is well and truly messing with me that's for sure! Just went to the gym and feel a bit better. All I want at this point is an answer either way - am meant to be visiting a friend week after next for a few days but won't if it's in FW which is currently unknown!

Had this nugget from Ovia today. Yes Ovia, but what the crap is going on ha ha

Eva30 · 07/08/2016 12:37

I'm on 6dpo, had bad cramps this morning but that could be due to the amount of crap I ate yesterday on a day out!Blush temps are up although a slight dip today. I'm not reading in to anything this month and not thinking about it too much which has surprised me.
busy how are you getting on?

BusyNothings · 07/08/2016 13:58

Hi all! Sorry had a really quick catch up. Sorry about the bfn pj but the temp hike today looks good? I've dipped a bit in temp this morning but no signs of AF yet. By this time last month I was cramping to hell and nothing yet. But could just be a longer cycle than thought.

Enjoyed the play. It was amazing and had a few too many to drink which is fine as not drank in ages!

Pyjamas81 · 07/08/2016 14:11

Hi busy! Glad you enjoyed the play! And nothing wrong with a few too many on occasion Wink I found the best drink ever yesterday - M&S now do mint and cucumber gin and tonics in a can!

I think I need to give up trying to work it out - nothing is making sense. No sign of AF even being on her way today. Bah!

BusyNothings · 07/08/2016 14:22

You still testing? Or waiting a few days? Sorry it's not going straight forward for you. It really sucks.

Oooh that sounds good I need to take my mum to m&s for some tights. Might stop and try that.

Pyjamas81 · 07/08/2016 14:31

It's really really good - so refreshing Smile And made up for the other night's pointless mocktail/smoothie ha ha

Yep - carrying on testing until AF shows. No idea what's going on, but POAS makes me feel like I'm at least doing something! It really does suck. If AF shows, I am NOT symptom spotting next month - the mind is full of cruel trickery :-/

BusyNothings · 07/08/2016 14:43

Youre telling me. I swear my boobs are different. Even dh thinks they are weird and hard. Lovely confidence building moment for me there!

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. And if all else fails then at least you got some good practice and stamina for this month coming!

Pyjamas81 · 07/08/2016 15:55

Ha ha - nice one DH! You never know though!

Thanks busy - I've got my fingers crossed too but trying to remain grounded. I'm still getting the odd pang here and there but no cramps, so I'm ignoring it. Just chatted about it with my mum - she seems to think I'm testing too early!

BusyNothings · 07/08/2016 18:42

Yeah the early tests are pretty new. It used to be 4 weeks my mum was telling me! Can you imagine? Period two weeks late but still can't confirm besides a blood test?!

I had a bit of a cramp earlier localised on my left but I was power walking so could have been a confused stitch lol

Pyjamas81 · 07/08/2016 18:57

I know, crazy!!

In a moment of continued madness obsession - I put in all my data into fertility friend to see how it compares to Ovia. Well FF says it hasn't detected ovulation at all for this month as I didn't get three consecutive temp rises after peak OPK day or something. Which would explain the no AF yet I suppose Confused but then it did pinpoint ov last month and I didn't get three rises then either!

Whatever - I'm clearly malfunctioning. I'm off to the pub with DH for a pint or two.

Ha re your stitch busy - I got that earlier and then realised it was probably because I was on a sodding treadmill Blush
