Thought I would create a fresh thread as the original had been going since Feb. This is for anyone TTC #1, a bit of moral support as we all attempt to embark on the scary journey that is parenthood! Join us if you are a mix of terrified and excited, don't really know what you're doing yet and hadn't heard of CM before you started reading Mumsnet!!

I'm feeling pretty down today, 6th day of flashing smiley, cd15. I've ov on cd15 the last two months and I also did a cheapie OPK and only the faintest of lines. Last month by now the test line was darker than the control line.
At the start of this cycle I started taking pregnacare conception, even though there are some bad reviews online. Today I had another read about them and lots of people say they delay ov - which I'm really not happy about!!! I'm considering stopping taking them, what do you think?
I've been verging on harassment DTD with DH so I'm annoyed this might be wasted effort haha! Good thing is we're going on holiday tomorrow til Weds so if get a static smiley then can jump straight into bed lol!

Pyjamas81 · 30/07/2016 06:49

Ah Eva - I know that damn flashing smiley face is disheartening Sad All I can say is keep at it - I was blaming the test, but like you the cheapies backed it up. Ignore the advice to stop testing after 9 days if no static - it all so much depends on when you start testing in the cycle!

I felt the same way - all that dtd and then my FW moved drastically! Annoyance.

Interesting what you say about the pregnacare - I also started taking it but will stop if that's the reason behind delayed ovulation!! I've heard good things about seven seas one.

I've got my fingers crossed for you for a static tomorrow!

Eva30 · 30/07/2016 06:58

Thanks pyjamas I definitely feel like you did about a week ago! Yes lots of reviews about delays, maybe it's just because it's first month taking them, who knows. I'm going to persevere with CB monitor and see when I actually ov.
Any symptoms your end? How's temp looking?

Pyjamas81 · 30/07/2016 07:20

It's so frustrating I know - I started to feel like I was broken by day 10 ( although DH kept reassuring me I was just be predictably unpredictable). The relief at finally getting a static and mega positive cheapie result was huge! Keep going - it will hopefully happen soon.

Am roughly 5dpo and felt some twinges yesterday on right side, have CM, temp was rising but then took a bit of a dip this am. All could be pg symptoms, but all could be AF symptoms too!

happybus28 · 30/07/2016 08:00

Another BFN this morning 14 dpo and starting to get period cramps so I'm out this month. I think I'm gonna invest in a fertility monitor for next cycle, my cycles have been so long that I'm not 100% sure when/if I'm ovulating. I will be meeting my cousins new baby tonight, I'm so happy for them but a part of me is dreading it as I know I'll feel jealous which then makes me feel like a terrible person Sad TTC is so hard!!!

Pyjamas81 · 30/07/2016 08:08

Sorry to hear about bfn happy Sad How long have you been TTC?

happybus28 · 30/07/2016 08:26

Thanks pyjamas only since April so not too long. It was meant to be December originally but had to postpone for a few months so I feel like I've been waiting for ages! It's the long cycles that are getting to me I think, 40+ days every time. Although if AF does show up today it'll be 38 days which is the shortest so far.

BusyNothings · 30/07/2016 11:15

Sorry to hear about your bfn happy sending WineFlowers

I take the seven seas conception vitamins and not having any issues with them at all. I normally get sick from vitamins and nothing so far! Can get them cheaper online too nods

Sorry to hear the flashing smiley bastard is visiting you eva! Just keep going and trust that it will get there. Let yourself wallow a bit if you need to but pull yourself back up!

Jjspoon · 30/07/2016 12:11

TMI alert I just went to the loo and had massive amounts of ewcm... loads more than I've ever had before it was pretty gross Blush!!!! So I will be jumping oh later even though my temps are still crazy and I have no idea what my cycle is doing, got to be a good sign!

Sorry you're feeling down Eva, things will sort themselves out eventually, hopefully it won't be too long for you.

LondonJem · 30/07/2016 12:44

Hi girls just been catching up, I've been away a while trying to take a more zen approach Halo

JJ sorry about your mc Sad I've read you are more fertile afterwards so I hope that was your body's way of saying it's ready and will catch again quickly.

Congrats to the others with bfps I hope the early weeks are going smoothly.

Happy I feel your pain, it's so hard being around babies. Hope you enjoy a cuddle and it gets some encouraging messages through to your ovaries. Think of it as practice for when your baby does come Smile

I'm halfway through cycle 8 now, feel kind of resigned to it taking a while. Trying to enjoy DTD with DH as much as possible and go with the flow.

Good luck all Flowers

Pyjamas81 · 30/07/2016 16:51

Hi London (also my hometown Smile) Admire your zen approach! This is the first cycle we've properly tried and I feel like am already losing the plot Confused

That sounds promising jj! Fingers crossed for you!

Are you OPK testing again today busy?

BusyNothings · 30/07/2016 17:18

Hi london well done for the zen approach I can't imagine it's easy.

Yeah a complete negative again today. Bizarrely though I'm a week away from predicted AF but have all the same symptoms I had last month already. We shall see I spose =]

Eva30 · 30/07/2016 17:59

Thank you ladies. I just did an OPK and the line is stronger but still not as dark as control line.
pyjamas it's sounding promising so far, fingers crossed for your BFP.

First time TTC - thread 2
Pyjamas81 · 30/07/2016 18:17

That looks promising Eva - hopefully you'll get s positive soon!

I do have symptoms, but similar to AF, so hard to tell. I'd say the only difference is that the slight cramping seems to be concentrated on the right side, but probably just me reading too much into it! I had a bit of a temp dip as well, but have read it could be AF imminent, or implantation dip, or my room just happened to be cooler last night!

Eva30 · 31/07/2016 08:09

Woooo I've finally got a static smiley!!! I feel so relieved. Normal OPK backed it up (yes should have trusted CB monitor pyjamas Blush ) I'm going on holiday today so will pounce on DH at hotel today and tomorrow!!Grin
I'll be testing around 12th August.
My temp also went up this morning, but I did get up later than usual today.
I always wonder that pyjamas, like during the heatwave surely bbt would be higher but they say it shouldn't affect it - not sure how that works!!
Hi london
Good signs jj, do you use opks?
busy so do you think you may have already ov then?

First time TTC - thread 2
Pyjamas81 · 31/07/2016 08:42

Woohoooooo Eva! Had a feeling you'd get the static today Grin Time to pounce on your DH!

Ha ha yes - I'll be trusting the smiley faces more next month as well. But it is nice having back up proof with the cheapies!

My temp is back up after yesterday's slight dip, but tbh, I don't trust it much!

Eva30 · 31/07/2016 09:56

That could be implantation though.. Everdene on the August bus had a really big dip at 4dpo. They reckon it happens around 6dpo. Fx

Pyjamas81 · 31/07/2016 09:58

Fx indeed - Ovia telling me that AF due on Tues but not to test until Sat, gah!!

BusyNothings · 31/07/2016 11:33

Yay eva! Enjoy your holiday Wink

I don't know if I've ovulated this month really. Maybe I didn't because it was the first month? Or it was really early? The darkest line I got was this one - think when AF arrives I shall be ordering the clear blue one for next month and go from there.

As for temping when we had the heatwave the other week I played around with my temps and they were the same so it must work.

pj eek good luck so Tuesday would be a 28day cycle? But because you ovulated late it would be Saturday? God I think I'd be poas every day and going insane! Make sure you don't go insane though lol come talk to us ladies!

BusyNothings · 31/07/2016 11:34

Sorry forgot to post pic! I'm still doing opks but period is due next Monday and already have ridiculously painful and swollen boobs. Low cramps and a few other bits which I got last month.

First time TTC - thread 2
Pyjamas81 · 31/07/2016 11:48

Could be that you're ovulating late this month busy! When was that test taken?

If AF arrives on Tuesday then it would be a 27 day cycle, but yes, I ovulated late so Saturday would be 12dpo. Tuesday will be 8dpo so probs too early to start testing. I'm almost fine with not testing as I'm a bit scared to be honest! Still veer from excited to totally terrified about the whole thing! It's going to be a loooong week if AF doesn't arrive on Tues Confused But, I've only had a 22 and a 32 day cycle, so not expecting it to show on time this month!

BusyNothings · 31/07/2016 11:57

Is 10dpo usually the absolutely earliest it could show up? I really hope it's worked for you this month. You deserve it after dtd in all that heat lol!

That was day 9 of testing, today is day 11 but yesterday's was a lot lighter. Will keep testing until AF turns up though, you never know. Had a huge temp rise today, almost a full degree from 35.4 to 36.38! Not sure if it means anything but I'm pretty sure I'm getting geared up for AF.

Pyjamas81 · 31/07/2016 12:15

I think 10dpo is when people normally start testing - let's face it I probably will then too even though I really want to wait and avoid having to squint at lines! I am mentally preparing for AF this week though - getting knocked up at first proper try (at 35) would be lucky!

Lol at dtd during heatwave - not going to lie, didn't enjoy it that much as a I hate hate hate heat and even more annoying that I ovulated late so FW then moved out of the heatwave time to later anyway so had to panic dtd on last two days of FW or would have ended up missing the entire week! Typical lol

I'm hopeless at reading temps - I basically only do them for something to do ha ha. But definitely keep testing, who knows when ovulating might strike esp with uncertainty around cycle length!

BusyNothings · 31/07/2016 12:28

You never know though. Think positive! Have you got some tests in ready? I know someone was having a giggle at your expense with that bloody shift.

I'm the same with temps. Something to do and distract me looking at them but I think it's far from an exact science!

Pyjamas81 · 31/07/2016 12:47

I've got none of the moody AF symptoms (for now) - so am at least enjoying that! Yep - have got two FRERs and two CB digitals ready Grin
