June Bus anyone?!

Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Hi foxglove we can be test buddy's! I'm 3dpo and bored of waiting already. Yeah we DTD 3 days of FW so I am praying for 2 lines this month. I had a big temp increase this morning, had been around 97 in FW and today up to 97.8. This happened last month and then started to dip before AF so just need it to stay up
Hi lizzy yeah when I got a bfn last month (cycle 1) I was like Its never going to happen!! (How impatient) We must persevere!

Tests are bought and I'm on my way home.....

My Amazon delivery of cheap HPTs also arrived today! Ovia is telling me ten days until I test but I haven't actually ovulated yet!

Yeah I did test early but couldn't resist. Not due till Thursday. I will wait it out a bit longer :)

We have been married for nearly a year but together for 12. We were going to wait until moving in to our new house (about July time) but thought we would be releaxed and see how it goes!! I am a bit of an obsessive-planner generally in life so of course I have just purchased basal thermometer, OPKs, pregnacare etc... so much for being relaxed!! xx

Sorry about the bfns. I'm actually getting tempted to test as sore nipples and feeling a bit dizzy but only 8-10 days post ovulation and af not due until Thursday so it's probably too early. If I'm having symptoms then surely something would show up though? Unless of course I'm imagining them. That is very possible!

WTF is my body doing?!

Cycle day 31, possible implantation bleeding over the last week but BFN after BFN and now after a strong OPK this morning, I've just been for a wee and there is also loads of EWCM in my underwear and also over the tissue paper when I wiped.

I don't understand it???

That's so strange! How did you know you were ovulating before? Were you temping? Could it be possible that your body's ovulating really late and it's a long cycle? Or could the EWCM be a sign? I know you can get more mucus in pregnancy. I don't get the bfns because it does seem like the signs are there.

Well all I had to go off in terms of ovulating in May was me using OPKs, I don't temp or anything.

I can't remember if I had any EWCM and if it did it certainly wasn't like what I have just had otherwise I would remember.

I have heard of women who have their LH surge but don't actually ovulate so maybe that's what happened last month but now I actually am ovulating?

But that doesn't understand why I'm showing signs of ovulation as opposed to having my period as I would still have my period even if I didn't ovulate last month.

I might put up a thread on the main forum and see if anyone has any bright ideas.....

How frustrating writer! EWCM is a definite sign that you're in FW! Ovulating so late if AF is due would be strange and leave you with very short luteal phase ( I've been reading loads about this because I think mine is very short) Did you have a particularly stressful month? Stress can cause delay in ovulation maybe?
What kind of test did you use? If AF is only due today, I'd test again in a few days if AF still hasn't come.

A woman on the conception forum said it may be just that I did t actually ovulate last month despite the LH surge and positive OPKs. It may be that my body psyched itself up to ovulate but then actually didn't and as a result I wouldn't have a period.

I have heard of anolovutary cycles (or something spelt like that) but I don't really know much about them, just that ovulation doesn't occur. I think I will go and google it once I've learnt how to spell it properly

Writer, could you try temping? It would tell you if you ovulate or not..

The problem is what with temping it has to be really precise and I'm up 1-2 times a night with DS so my recordings would never be valid as you have to have a set number of uninterrupted hours of sleep I think before temping and do it at the same time each morning.

Apparently cycles without ovulation occurring can happen in women who are breast feeding...

I've done quite a lot of reading on breastfeeding and getting pregnant and you can have cycles without ovulation but these are usually if your af returns within a few months of the baby being born. If your af returns later then they're more likely to be fertile ones. As you've been pregnant already you are probably ovulating again. Is your ds feeding more than usual at the moment? Breastfeeding hormones can interfere with the balance of hormones making you ovulate late. They can cause a short luteal phase due to low progesterone so this could be the case here?

That's interesting friendly. I think I'm out this month as feeling pms. I'm too lazy to chart so will have to go back to every other day dtd through the month to catch the egg whenever it comes.

It sounds like you're well read up on the matter friendlyghost - I had ever really considered that BF could alter things.

I've just done another OPK and whereas this morning's was very strong it is now practically negative

I officially give up and I guess I will just have to regularly DTD whilst waiting to see if and when my period will arrive

Its the not knowing what's going on that drives you crazy. Hopefully your AF will stay away and you'll get a BFP soon. Are
You going to test again tomorrow? I'm on CD16 and have been DTD pretty much every other day. Been using OPKs but haven't had a positive yet. How accurate are they? My last cycle was only 26 days and Ovia said that I'm now within my fertile week. Think we'll try and DTD again tomorrow then see if we've managed to do enough to get a BFP this month. I'll be testing in around two weeks. Going to try not to stress about it too much. Lots of baby dust to you all X

poppy - how often are you using OPKs? The general idea is that you do them twice a day in the lead up to expected ovulation and that second morning urine is better than first morning urine. When I approached the day I thought I would be ovulating I actually tested three times a day.

The surge can happen really quickly and I went from a totally negative OPK to a very dark line in the space of 2.5 hours.

I read somewhere that optimal testing is firstly using second morning urine and then testing again at about 4pm.

I've just been testing once per day. Most days there is a line, just not dark. This is only my first 'real' cycle. I came off the pill (cilest) at the end of March and had a withdrawal bleed. 26 days later, I had a small bleed which I think was my first real AF so classing that as CD1, I'm now on CD16. Just hope I am ovulating. Trying not to overthink everything and enjoy the trying with my DH. Not sure how long that will last before I am completely obsessed!! Will DTD again tomorrow and then wait to test in a few weeks. It's hard as I've no clue when AF is due to know if I'm late etc.

writer maybe you are preggers? I had BFN on 11pdo and only v v faint 12dop but bfp on CB. Which tests are you using? X
