June Bus anyone?!

Barefootcontessa84 · 02/05/2016 22:59

Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

I caved and went to the doctor, who I was surprised didn't tell me I was being an idiot! He did another urine test, also negative - no surprise there. Said that as my previous period was really long, it is likely that ovulation this month happened later than normal. He reckons it will arrive in next few days but if not (or if it comes and is really long) I have to go back and have tests to check all hormones working normally and I am ovulating. Hope this explanation is useful to others experiencing the same thing.

And one thing I'm looking forward to with two is that I won't be dealing with one stage at a time. I think that it can be really intense when you just have one, the stage they are in always seems all consuming and harder than the others in one particular way, and, well - yep, all stages have their own difficulties and challenges, and there will always be something about every age which is uniquely challenging, but on the other hand, there is something about every stage which is uniquely charming or appealing, and sometimes it's actually hard to see that part when you're in the middle of it trying to figure out the challenges!

So, I hope, one thing I'm looking forward to is perspective. When one child is being challenging because they are stroppy and mobile, the other will be contrastingly all lovely and portable and demanding only of milk and cuddles. Likewise when I'm frustrated with a non sleeping screamy monster, I'll suddenly appreciate the other one's articulate speech and reading ability.

I'm sure there will be days when they are screaming and stropping in stereo, too, but I'm looking over the bigger picture here.

I was in Tesco's earlier and they didn't have any of the early testing FRERs either, just the standard ones like the ones I bought yesterday.

Are the early testing ones rare and hard to get hold of or something?

tamsyn88 · 02/06/2016 16:01

Hi I'm new hope it's still ok to join

Me and my partner have been together for 8 years and i have always worried that he would never want children but he has finally said that he would like to try!

I'm 28
Ttc #1
FW 9 - 14th
ETD 26th
Cycle 1

I am so happy that he has decided that he dose want them as I have always wanted children but never wanted to push him into it as I want to go into this journey together!

My biggest obstical is I work permenent nights which I do enjoy but will make it harder to dtd some times when I'm in my FW.

Butterpuff · 02/06/2016 16:14

I live your thinking Bertie, I'd be thinking that one can entertain the other so I wouldn't be so in demand. I didn't think about the differences in behaviour giving a bit more perspective.
Can't say I'm looking forward to the exhaustion of the new born phase, but it is also uniquely beautiful.

Writerwannabe83 · 02/06/2016 17:14

I've used up all my HPTs just so I don't have any in the house. I knew they'd all be BFN but it means I no longer have any way of testing. I was driving myself way too crazy.

So now it's just a case of wait for AF to arrive. I actually feel quite relieved that there aren't any tests in the house, I feel calmer.

FriendlyGhost · 02/06/2016 17:28

Welcome TamsynSmile
Bertie your post really made me smile and realise how much I want another one. Every stage is tough but fantastically rewarding at the same time. It just takes one little smile to make it all worthwhile. Saying that, I have no idea how I will cope if dd doesn't start sleeping soon!
Glad you feel calmer Writer. I know I will drive myself similarly crazy if I start testing before af is due so I'm leaving it for another week.
Is anyone else testing soon? Out of everyone on here we must be due a bfp at some point!

babydances · 02/06/2016 18:09

Evening ladies, just caught up on posts. I'm now on 7dpo. Dp is away as of tomorrow u Ril Sunday which is great as I wouldn't test without him nearby as couldn't tell him before his friends stag or whilst on it. I'm gonna test Wednesday. Af is due Thursday. Smile

Laura05 · 02/06/2016 18:29

Hi ladies. I didn't test today as dh was up first thing this morning and I'd rather test on my own. No symptoms at all now so still no inkling as to bfp or bfn. AF should be here by Saturday at the very latest so might just test tomorrow morning for the sake of it haha

BertieBotts · 02/06/2016 20:16

Yes I like the idea of them entertaining each other too! Though I don't hold out much hope for that with such a big age gap. I found one singleton very hard going during the 3-5 stage in terms of how much interaction he wanted and attention he needed. Even now he hates it when we lie in at weekends. He drags me out of bed to sit on my computer so he can ignore me on the tablet while I'm in the same room Confused He says he likes company!

Butterpuff · 02/06/2016 22:05

How old is your ds now Bertie? He may be happy to entertain!

Barefootcontessa84 · 03/06/2016 00:11

Hi all! Back from holiday Angry... To update, I'm around 7dpo (though could be 8/9 but no more). Have had mild cramps for about three days now which is unusual for me to get at this stage in my cycle - usually only come on once AF has started. Today I also had a very small spot of brown/red blood (sorry TMI) in my knickers and I've never bled/spotted between periods. It was small but definitely there! Could these be good signs of implantation....?

TheImprobableGirl · 03/06/2016 07:37

Sounds promising barefoot !! What are your boobs like?

I'm just coming to the end of the withdrawal bleed, but came off the pill mid cycle- so not sure what that means for fertile-ness. I think I'll try and dtd every other day until my proper AF should kick in... But all quite confusing!

auberginefrog · 03/06/2016 07:44

Hi tamsyn!

Gosh writer you've had a stressful few days - hope your other half sorts himself out soon.

I tested on Monday and today - both BFN but have sore boobs have had cramps and no period. I've only just come of the mini pill but bled all the time on it and then had what seemed like a normal period on the 2/5/16

Wee bit worried now due to all the posts on difficulty getting pregnant post mini pill especially as you have to be so careful when you take the bloody thing in case you get pregnant! Going to try and hold out till next week and test again. Laura are you testing tomorrow? Good luck

Laura05 · 03/06/2016 08:22

Morning ladies. BFN for me this morning Sad AF due by Saturday at the latest but sure I'm out this month. Oh well on to the next cycle xx

Eva30 · 03/06/2016 08:33

Good signs barefoot
theimprobablegirl I did that, came off pill in April and had no idea where my cycle was up to until AF came and I could start counting from CD1! I bought a BBT thermometer to try and suss it out, think I've just about worked it out now.
I'm on CD17, 2dpo and already the wait is killing me!! DTD on cd12, cd13 and cd15 (day of ov) so I have everything crossedGrin

JessJR23 · 03/06/2016 09:11

Hi all.... guess what?? After 9 months trying - I got my BFP this morning!!! Over the moon doesn't cover it. I was going to give it 1 more month then got to GP!! So excited and happy.... really hope there are some more BFP here this month and any who aren't get theirs next month. It's so hard to keep waiting and trying and I've cried every month for the past 5... but here it is :D super super excited (sorry for the ramblings!!)

Laura05 · 03/06/2016 09:15

Congratulations Jess!!!

Sunshineface123 · 03/06/2016 09:18

Oh yay!! Jess that's amazing news!! Big congrats!! What Day did u test on? Xxx

Julia2016 · 03/06/2016 09:19

Congratulations Jess, great news to have a BFP! :)

FriendlyGhost · 03/06/2016 09:22

Congratulations Jess! Wonderful news!
Barefoot I'm about the same as you-somewhere between 7-9 days post ovulation. That's a best guess! When are you testing? If I can I'm going to wait until I'm actually late which is next weekend but I might get impatient before then.

SoozC · 03/06/2016 09:30

Yay Jess!

I've been away so haven't caught up with all the posts from the past week (there have been lots!) so apologies if I've missed any BFPs.

I reckon I'm ovulating so just going into tww. Argh! :)

Eva30 · 03/06/2016 09:36

Congrats jess, wonderful news!!! We so needed that BFP!

JessJR23 · 03/06/2016 09:48

Thanks all :) I tested yesterday at 11dpo and really, really faint line (which I thought I was imagining) and then today with stick (faint line) and CB digital (1-2 weeks positive). Don't know if it made the difference, but this month I switched from pregnacare to 7 seas and conceived first cycle AND had a really relaxing spa day the day before I had my LH surge. Don't know which had the effect but my LP lengthened from 7-8 days to 12 days!

Mbire · 03/06/2016 09:52

Congrats Jess
I LOVE hearing about BFPs and I'm also on 9th cycle so this makes me happy and hopeful!!
Laura I'm due tomorrow too. My last AF was two days early so Ovia said I was due yesterday. Going to wait another few days to test (they always give me the wrong news so I don't like poas much!)
Not much out of the ordinary happening me though. Maybe mild cramps but nothing that jumps out. Don't feel like it's this month but let's see!
