Hi all

I thought I'd start the June bus as I'm getting impatient!

I'm 31 (for a bit longer anyway), TTC#1. DH and I agreed to start TTC in May, but won't be ovulating till about the 24th. ETD 8th June! Feeling terrified and excited at the same time.

Join me if you will! Smile

I wanna see your squinter!!!!! Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 01/06/2016 13:12

The squinter is in the bin, it's far too squinty to show up on an IC photo Grin

babydances · 01/06/2016 13:20

Hahaha I couldn't resist posting i want to see your squinter!! haha.

FriendlyGhost · 01/06/2016 13:25

Go on, go on, go on Grin

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 13:27

Aww come on! We can invert it and everything!

I still have all my tests from last time and somewhere in a box is my test from DS Blush Crusty and yellow and eight year old urine and all! I can't bring myself to throw them away!

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 13:28

Damnit you've made me go on a pregnancy test gallery binge now Grin

babydances · 01/06/2016 13:31

Hahahaha this thread always makes me smile. bertiebotts I have never heard of keeping them for years!

Writerwannabe83 · 01/06/2016 13:34

I've just squeezed out a bit more wee and this test is completely blank. Maybe I imagined my squinter, or maybe I should have let some www build up again first before testing again?

I'm just off to ASDA now to get something for dinner and I don't know if I will be able to resist the urge to buy a FRER....

Are they more sensitive than IC?

Laura05 · 01/06/2016 13:35

Wow writer go for it! You can't hold us in suspense!

Kn33 · 01/06/2016 13:40

No prizes for guessing how I found this out Grinhaha
First response tests are on buy one get one free in boots for anyone that is as impatient as me Wink lol

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 13:47

I don't even know why I have kept it! I haven't kept anything else like teeth or cord stumps etc, just the test. Weird. I have moved country with it as well Confused I've just had it so long that I don't know what to do with it. Perhaps I'll present it to him on his 18th birthday, that might be a terrifying enough sight to stop him becoming a teenage dad??

Laura05 · 01/06/2016 13:49

Haha! bertiebotts you've just made my day! I can't stop laughing x

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 13:51

Hold your pee for 3-4 hours and try again?

BusyNothings · 01/06/2016 13:52

Bertiebotts my mum has all three from us and hides them in a box full of photos. I won't ever forget routing through it being scared of spiders and then realising there was much worse! Lol

Also question how soon after stopping contraception did you guys start to use OPKs? I haven't had a period in years so no idea what my cycle is.

Writerwannabe83 · 01/06/2016 13:53

Tests are bought!!!!!

Now to decide whether to use my saved sample for an instant test or whether to wait 3-4 hours for another wee.....

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 13:53

How many DPO are you again? I'll check the results on countdowntopregnancy. Asda ones get 47% positive on 8DPO apparently, which is pretty good.

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 13:55

FRER get 42.9% positive at 8DPO.

Writerwannabe83 · 01/06/2016 13:55

I'm 10dpo.

I have two FRERs and two CB (non digital).

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 14:05

Save the clearblue, do the FRER. You can dip one and save one? Grin

Writerwannabe83 · 01/06/2016 14:06

I also have two of ASDAs own brands too, I thought I would start off with the the cheaper ones and break out the FRER if I see a squinter.

I will use one of the ASDA ones on my saved wee. I'm just on my way home now.....

Mbire · 01/06/2016 14:07

Busynothings I think i started using OPKs on my third or fourth cycle but I'm sure you could start sooner than that. I was lucky and my cycles came back quite normal straight away.
Just back from the doctor again. I've had blood hormone tests and an internal scan so far and my husband has had the semen analysis so my next step is to have the 21 day blood test.
I went to see a different doctor today. Previous doctor said it was very important that we dtd regularly all the way through the month. The doctor today said it was important that we abstain until fertile week so that the sperm is concentrated and of high quality! Arghhhh! Any insights?
Still no symptoms, I'm a teacher on half term so not getting up or going to bed on time so it's hard to spot differences really! AF due on Sunday. Fingers crossed for everyone!! Good luck with the squinted writer!

Mbire · 01/06/2016 14:08

** squinter - damn autocorrect!

FriendlyGhost · 01/06/2016 14:09

I'm not sure if any of us can wait another 4 hours!
Bertiebotts that's so funny! I kept mine until the digital display ran out and then DH made me chuck it. It was a very sad moment.

BertieBotts · 01/06/2016 14:11

I don't know if they had digital ones eight years ago... maybe they did? I was skint anyway so probably wouldn't have afforded one.

FRER gets better results than Asda by 10DPO, Writer.

Asda

FRER

BusyNothings · 01/06/2016 14:14

Mbire thanks =] I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I watched that great sperm race last night that people were talking about and they said waiting all month was actually bad for the sperm. I'm no expert but really confused now lol.

Writer four hours! Wow that's a long time you are a lot more patient than I would be!
