MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2007 16:37

Keeping my fingers crossed for you, what a lovely pressie that would be for you both! hmmmm brownies..........

nomoremagnolia · 08/02/2007 17:01

Thanks mrsmc, how are you doing? It's nice to know you're still looking in on us from time to time. You're like our guardian angel!

peanutbutter · 08/02/2007 19:05

hello all. my af is due any time from today to Saturday, but i'm feeling sick and inspite of myself i can't help keep thinking that i'm pregnant...

i have one solitary tester stick left in my knicker drawer and might just test tomorrow.

will let you know what transpires.

nomoremagnolia · 08/02/2007 19:24

sounds like you're on the same rollercoaster as me! I'm going to test on Sat, do you want to join me? I don't feel anything at all, not even pre-menstrual!

plummymummy · 08/02/2007 19:30

Good luck girls. I'm waiting in suspense here..........................

Eaglebird · 08/02/2007 19:55

Congratulations Imreadyforababy, hope your good luck rubs off on the rest of us hoping for a bfp.
My af is due 14th Feb, and what a rotten Valentines present she would be. Probably wishful thinking, but ,my boobs are killing me, and they feel like a pair of baking potatoes. Also I've been so tired these past few days that I've been in bed by 10pm, and have been struggling to stay awake at work, which is not like me.
Just got back from a holiday in America at the weekend, though, so it's probably jetlag catching up with me. Hope it's a sign of a bfp on its way, though

babylove123 · 08/02/2007 20:21

Furry, my letter came from the hosp to say that i have to ring and make an apt within 10 days of my period being due (and started), well in theory i cld but im now 8 days late so goodness only knows when that'll be! And theres a 3 week waiting list so im never gonna guess right am i?!!!! Argh! Still trying to convince myself we cant try this month....... Glad you're feeling postive tho, best of luck to you

Nomore, i hope you feel more positive soon. Its never easy with everyone being pg bar you, im like that here!!!! Argh! We'll get there soon

London, at least you get to hold them! People look @ me and think that because i dont have 1, i dont know wot im doing......if only they knew!!!

Jheys, i'd say that the likliness is you didnt ovulate last month and have just skipped a period. Think im in the same boat as im now 8 days late too.......its crap

Imready, go you! Well done! Lots of best wishes for a healthy pregnancy

Pirate, welcome i said hi on another thread but hey on here too

Nomore and peanut, good luck

toomanyshoes · 08/02/2007 20:40

Hello all, have been keeping up with everybodies news but no time to post until tonight. Huge congrats Imready, really pleased for you!
I am now CD15 but no sign of a positive OPK yet. Trying to bd as much as poss anyway, just in case. Decided that if no success this month i'm going to resign from my job. Hate my boss (she is exactly like the woman in 'the devil wears prada' - in fact she is nastier!!) and only sticking it out for the mat leave as its a v good package. Beginning to wonder if it is actually possible to conceive with such high stress levels though so might be counterproductive to stay.
Furry fox, i know we are both due around same date, just wondered if you were using OPKs? Sorry if you said earlier on thread, can't remember! Not really sure I trust them tbh!

goingfor3 · 09/02/2007 08:26

Morning all,

I'm on CD23 now but not holding out any hope as I feel exactley the same as last month. Fingers crossed it will happen in March, if it doesn't I'll take a month off as I don't really want to have a babay due around christmas day as most people seem to resent that!

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!

pirategeek · 09/02/2007 09:07

plummymummy - oops! did I mention I'm new? Maybe I could hang around at the back and see how everyone gets on...

seaside72 - Oooh! a TTC Buddy! If that law goes our way, the BFP diploma will soon be ours! (thanks for adding me)

Londonlottie/Babylove123 - Hello again! (always good to have another hello )

Good luck to all those testing soon x

plummymummy · 09/02/2007 14:52

nomoremagnolida - yes, i'll test with you on saturday morning but sad to say i'm feeling very despondent now, as i'm having classic period symptoms and had a little blood spotting today, exactly as i get the day before i come on .

let's see what happens tomorrow though - good luck x

babylove123 · 09/02/2007 19:58

toomany, yeh i've looked at leaving, stress levels arent working for me either! I've managed to not ovulate for 2 months recently when ive been regular for 8 yrs!!!!

Good luck for testing peanut

peanutbutter · 10/02/2007 10:03

came on last night. couldn't stop crying this morning. my dream of having my babies close together in age is slipping away (ds will be 2 in september). i know we're lucky to have ds, very very lucky, and i know that because i've been pregnant once before then there's no reason why we can't get pregnant again - i'm just struggling to get my head round why it's not happening so easily this time. sorry if this sounds trivial and selfish to those who are ttc their first - i feel even more shit at knowing that we should count our blessings when we look at our little boy. tbh i think the whole thing is made much worse because since coming off contraception my periods are so heavy and if i'm honest with myself then my feelings of despondency are probably made much worse by pmt...i've not been off contraception for years (fell immediately with ds) so i've kind of forgotten how awful they used to be....

sorry for ramblings - i'll get myself over to the March thread if there is one.

nomoremagnolia - fingers crossed. good luck for everyone still waiting on this thread.

honeyapple · 10/02/2007 10:53

Sorry to hear about period peanutbutter. Try not to worry about the age gap thing. It really doesnt matter that much in the long run. My DS and DD have 4 yrs between them, and now I'm TTC again and it will be a 5 yr gap... Been TTC for 6mths now and fell other times without any attempting it! Happy accidents i think they call it!

seaside72 · 10/02/2007 11:43

peanutbutter - sorry about AF appearance - I cry every month when it comes -even though I prepare myself for it and know it is coming there is always that little glimmer of hope that it might stay away. And the month ahead seems so long on day 1. It is OK to be upset. I think there are lots of lovely people on the March thread who will
look after you ( keep a spot warm for me - sure I'l be in there too at the end of the month) Haven't taken you off Feb list - stay there till you ready and are settled in March

Personally I think honeyaple is right - I f I could choose I would have a bigger gap in ages (3-5 years) but at this point it doesn't look like I have any say in the matter at all (ttc #1!)

Amby - I have taken you off the bottom as I think you have joined the March thread - sorry if I am wrong

Hope everyone else is doing OK - any testers - nomoremagnolia ?

Fingerscrossed - hope you are having a great weekend

Thought I would update a bit (as I have some info to put in instead of questions marks!!) have had a bash at updating some of the girls around me - gemwants1, lottie and fingers - as I think I know where you all are in relation -sorry if I got any of you wrong.

Need some MN opinions - I have been using CB fertility monitor again this month (first time since last summer) and it has given me my peak today (day 12) - 3 questions:

  1. am I wrong to be a bit suspicious of the fact that everytime I have used the monitor it has shown day 12 as first peak day - isn't it a bit unusual to always be the same regardless of my cycle length?

  2. So if it is peak today (and prob tomorrow I think according to CB manual) - what do you think - we BD last night - should we try again tonight and tomorrow - or leave it till tomorrow ( ie. every other day - DH is worried his swimmers are weak if we do it everyday?)

  3. If today is a peak result - does that mean OV will be tomorrow? I have been temping this month also - so should I be looking for a rise on Monday?

Sorry if these questions sound stupid - but I seem to have come full circle with TTC - having know nothing his time last year - I have read everything over the past year and now can't seem to remember anything and am getting all confused!!

nomore - cd28, a/f due 8 or 9/2

Thanks for the input/advice londonlottie

I think tom morn would be good - will have to persuade DH into a quickie as I have to be up and out early!! Not sure whether to mention it or just jump him - God I so feel like our roles are reversed !! - I am the one who doesn't mind a quickie and is happy to have a go anytime - he on the other hand doesn't like a quickie and gets anxiuos about the whole thing !!

I have also been doing some of the cheapy ebay OPKs - they say to test in the afternoon/ evening so wil be interested to see what that shows later.

Whenever I think about the every other day BD theory I think of MrsMcJnr ( I think it was anyway) who had a superhuman BD effort everyday I seem to remember from last month - and it worked !! Mind you don't think I could ever get my DH to do that!

Thanks again ll -interesting link! I think that theory about not letting the sperm get too old could be an issue for us. Have thought and read about it before - DH just seems relieved when the crucial days are passed and we seem to end up not doing it again until day 8ish.

OK - maybe TMI alert but - how come when we weren't TTC DH seemed to "take care of himself" IYKWIM, a couple of times a month when I wasn't in the mood or away? now he never does it (except once last month and it made me cry cos it was during the crucial time and he did it in front of me ) even in the 2ww / during AF when I find it hard to be motivated or up for it? Another weird DH issue - must I discuss it with him - arghhhh!! Is there no romance or shame anymore!

Ambi · 10/02/2007 13:50

I don't mind being relegated off the roll call at all, I have sneaked ova to March. Congratulations to imready. It makes me so happy when the BFPs come in, and cannot wait for mine, although I know it may take some time. I really love the support here laydeez, "it warms the cockles!" (wow, i sounded bout 50 then!) I means more to me cause I don't have any close girlfriends, although my best (gay) friend is more feminine than most girls - he is so uninterested in the whole "breeding" thing. I daren't tell anyone else in case it's like "any news?" - a common theme thoughout these threads. So it's like a secret society of TTC'ers with support and hugs and great (sometimes graphic) advice, that you would get from a big sister. I'm so addicted...
