Am going to sit on this thread and feel sorry for myself for a bit!! If anyone else wants to talk to me, please feel free!

Yeah, we needed a night off at 2 dpo, so we just relaxed, cuddled on the sofa and watched tv... it was nice. But then last night the mood took us and it was equally as nice to not bother propping my bottom on a pillow for 15 minutes aftwards

JoAndTheBoys · 25/01/2007 15:56

Cd20 - how slow the time is passing! Have been on a really boring course today so have spent all day dreaming about being pg/babies/names, etc.!

Symptoms of impending af/pg are currently:

  • Suddenly starting to feel v moody/down last night
  • Absolutely knackered
  • Have developed thrush over the last couple of days, which I've only ever had whilst pg with ds1 and ds2 - no nasty discharge, just extreme itchiness/swelling
  • Feel a bit nauseous this afternoon, although that could be the buffet I had for lunch today on the course or brought on by the extreme boredom!

The niggling worry that I think started me off in a tearful mood last night is that I might not have ovulated this month. I got aches & pains/rampantness on Saturday that had eased off by Sunday, which I assumed was it, and then lots of clearer 'wet' cm (although not what I would describe as EW, which I did get most cycles last year) on Tuesday and a bit more rampantness! I thought they were pretty good signs...
But my temp doesn't seem to have risen, it was still 36.26 this morning, which is lower than it's been earlier on in my cycle.

Ready · 25/01/2007 16:26

Jo&TheBoys, are you sure that the earlier temps are completely accurate?? Were you poorly?? Temping at the same time?? Not getting 3 hours sleep... all those things can affect it. Do you want to list your temps for us to look at??

fruitful · 25/01/2007 16:47

KezzaG - woohoo! Congratulations.

Goingfor3 - my older 2 are 4.5 and 23 months, and I'm having one of those days where I think I should quit while I'm ahead!

Jo&TheBOys - if you think you haven't Ov'd and you're on day 20 - well, you still could, couldn't you? That would 'only' be a 34 day cycle (I have those all the time).

jersey · 25/01/2007 19:40

KezzaG congrats on your BFN!!!!!

I have some info to pass on which my doctor told me when giving me painkillers for my sciatica! Don't take Ibuprofen when ttc as it can cause very early miscarriage!!!!! . This is why as soon as possible I stopped taking them just in case.

Good luck to everyone.

KezzaG · 25/01/2007 19:56

Thanks all, obvously I did another test today, where would the fun be if I didnt give ClearBlue a bit more money Thanks for the info Jersey, I dont think I have taken anything for ages actually, but good to know.

I dont even pretend to understand all the temperature business, it really shouldnt be that hard to conceive should it fgs!!!! I will keep watching with interest to see how you all get on.

Thank Ready, I am lucky to have ds, he is my price and joy.

JoAndTheBoys · 25/01/2007 20:21

My temps over the last 2 weeks ish have been:

cd5 - 36.32
cd6 - 36.30
cd7 - 36.41
cd8 - 36.19
cd9 - 36.45
cd10 - 36.32
cd11 - 36.08
cd12 - 36.35
cd13 - 36.44
cd14 - 36.22
cd15 - 36.41
cd16 - 36.26

At this point it was Sunday, the day after I first thought I'd ovulated. I was pretty peed off that my temps hadn't rose and started to doubt the thermometer, a cheapish digital one oof Ebay, and had the bright idea of using the Braun ear thermometer I use for the boys. It was a lot higher with that when I used it on Monday AM, 37.8. Then I read up on it online and everything said you weren't to use an ear thermometer, so I gave up for a day or two before starting with the other oral one again when I thought I might have ovulated on Tues! So,;

cd17 - /
cd18 - /
cd19 - (Wednesday) 36.26
cd20 - 36.19

I can't see a significant rise there, can anyone else make sense of it? Is it just me being thick?!
I haven't been stressed at all really, so that can't have affected things. Maybe the hormones from the cerazette are still in my system

As I mentioned, I'm not entirely sure of the accuracy of the thermometer, so if af arrives, I'll get a new one for the next cycle.

JoAndTheBoys · 25/01/2007 20:34

Sorry, have been so busy waffling about myself that I forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS KEZZA!!!

Really pleased for you, and a teensy bit

Fruitful, not v hopeful I'll ovulate late, I never have done before, but you never know...

Ready, well bud, they were all taken around the same time each morning, I wasn't poorly, hadn't really drank, and had usually had at least 3 hrs sleep before taking them... so, I dunno. Maybe I'm a freaky gal who just doesn't have temp rise after ovulation! If by some miracle I'm pregnant next month I'll know that's the case!
How the hell are you anyway Any symptoms yet?!

beansprout · 25/01/2007 20:36

Woooo - hoooooo Kezza!!! Congratulations!!!

EDD?!

OP posts:
KezzaG · 25/01/2007 20:39

Thanks, EDD 3rd October which is my ds's birthday. Must be a lucky time.

I had a suspicion I was as I get super emotional about anything child related, even the mention of pregnancy set me off when I was pg with ds. I was in a presentation by a healthcare company this week, and they did a case study on a premature baby - thought I was going to start blubbing, how embarassing.

MrsMcJnr · 26/01/2007 08:53

Hello! I just wanted to pop in and wish you all the very best of luck. I got my BFP this morning after 8 cycles of trying, I am so excited and scared all at once. It can be done ladies!

Congratulations Kezza - my software says my due date is 7/10. Too scared to move to ante natal boards yet but hope to meet you again on the due in October board is there one?

Mumpbump · 26/01/2007 10:14

Just popping in to say congratulations to MrsMcJnr! I have been lurking occasionally on the ttc threads and have always admired how upbeat your emails are... Here's to a happy and healthy pg!!

seaside72 · 26/01/2007 10:28

What fab news MrsMcJnr!! - congratulations
You will have to keep an eye on us in the Feb thread and send us some of your good BFP vibes!!

Gracie14 · 26/01/2007 11:13

Hi all,

Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to MrsMc, I'm so pleased for you.

Ready · 26/01/2007 11:21

Jo&TheBoys... I am no expert, so only take what I say with a pinch of salt... but your temps area tad erratic honey! This is going to sound daft (but Greedy will back me up!) do you just take one temp and trust that reading? and also do you just take your temp straight away, from cold? Apparently it's best to let the thermometer "warm up" a little in your mouth before pressing the button to take the reading, it's more likely to give an accurate reading.

What I do also is take 3 readings... or 2 if they are identical readings straight off the bat. Is this the first month of temping then???

I would suggest giving that a go before worrying about annovulation. To be honest, observing your CM is a very effective way of charting OV...

Hang in there!!

Me?? Well, I have had a pain in my tummy, but up near my bellybutton, so nothing to do with pg/af ... and a backache. But I just have a feeling that I have missed out again this month I am normally ultra positive, but something in the back of my mind keeps telling me that this is not my month!

Ready · 26/01/2007 11:21

are not area - oops

beansprout · 26/01/2007 12:56

I have that feeling too Ready. Just don't think it is going to happen this time. Am well and truly stuck in the waiting room!! Will still have that sickening hopeful few days leading up to AF's arrival though. Ho hum.

OP posts:
JoAndTheBoys · 26/01/2007 13:35

They are pretty erratic aren't they!

At first I used to put the thermometer in my mouth 'cold', then someone on here said it was better to let it warm up for a bit first, so I started doing that after about a week...
I have always only taken one reading though, will start doing three. Do you take the highest of the three as 'the one'?

I read your temps 'down under' are often more accurate, so did that this morning to see if there was any difference - it was 36.51 doing it that way, which is quite a leap from the highest oral one I've had yet, but it probably is 'hotter' down there anyway!
I'll just take them that way in future I think, with 3 readings like you said Ready.

I've also got that feeling that there's no chance that this is my month, esp with the unsure temps etc. I really shouldn't be that bothered, as we weren't going to start trying until March (because my first two were conceived so quickly I had it in my head I could pick a month, any month, to have no. 3, and I wanted a December baby - how naive can you get!
But dh agreed we could "see what happened" in Jan and Feb, and that was it, I had the bit between my teeth!

honeyapple · 26/01/2007 13:40

Hi joandtheboys- stupidly (looking back on it) DP wouldnt start TTC till Sept last year because he wanted a summer baby...on the assumption, that like last times, I would get PG ASAP... now I cant stop thinking about those wasted months! GRRRRRR! Daft, I know! Now I am looking like another winter baby (DS Jan/ DD Dec)... never mind!

JoAndTheBoys · 26/01/2007 14:02

It's daft really isn't it, it only took one failed cycle for me to get past caring when no 3 would be born, and to just want to be pregnant!

To be fair on dh though, it's been pretty obvious to him that I at least, am not 'seeing what happens' this cycle but trying pretty hard! I've been pouncing on him at every available opportunity since af ended, he's worn out!

Thanks Lottie, that puts my mind at rest! Actually found it much easier, plus the beeping when it's done isn't nearly as loud!

goingfor3 · 26/01/2007 16:46

Hello all,

I'm on cycle day 9 now so I think it's time DP and I start getting busy. The problem is we are both so exhausted, has anyone got any tips!!!!!!

Ready · 26/01/2007 17:45

goingfor3.... massage oils and relaxing music?

JO&theboys, I hope what I said wasn't out of order about your temps being erratic. I reckon doing them Down Under is probably the best method for you!! Did you ever sip water or anything before a reading??

iwillbepgbydec07 · 26/01/2007 19:08
