Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like 'something' = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

I'm fed up of symptom spotting for ovulation...

canters I would go with not feeling well and possibly have a very diluted glass of wine (with lemonade) and sip it very slowly, or swap drinks with DH. Or in to the kitchen and make your own drinks and pretend you're drinking vodka and coke or something.. don't make a big deal about it though, bringing attention to it will possibly make people jump to conclusions..

LondonGirl83 · 14/03/2016 12:36

OMG! I had a very busy weekend and am still just catching up (on page 20)

Congrats Chat!!

Sausage so glad the bean is sticky and I'm keeping my gx for you!

Canters Congratulations!! That's a cracking line :)

Sorry to those with BFNs....

I am due to test this weekend. I had very painful cramping on Saturday and woke up this morning wanting to puke and still do. Not sure if its a symptom of if I've just eaten something dodgy.

My raging fever before icing probably cooked my egg this cycle so I'm not holding out too much hope.

LondonGirl83 · 14/03/2016 12:43

Canters hangover excuse is the best I agree.

Kwick gx for your testing this weekend!

NameChange30 · 14/03/2016 12:46

London Dare I say it... Those symptoms sound very promising! What cd/dpo are you?

AnotherRubberDuck · 14/03/2016 13:09

Canters that is a beautiful line! Congratulations!

Stumbly you're not out till you're out. Pma please! Gx for you.

Well, I'm out this cycle Sad the witch is here with her stupid shiny crampy convertible. Someone pass me a hot water bottle and all the chocolate!

LondonGirl83 · 14/03/2016 13:59

I get nauseated fairly easily but its hopeful. I'm about 7 or 8 days post ovulation. Nausea has subsided now so going to grab some lunch!

NameChange30 · 14/03/2016 14:18

Sorry Duck - here you go Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate

Canters15 · 14/03/2016 14:59

London- I had terrible cramps at 8dpo which I put down to my smear but was clearly implantation-- gx gx gx!!

Duck- sorry Flowers

I spoke to my mum on the phone earlier (am off work today) and caved and told her. She was happy about it and said she'd have known immediately if I hadnt been drinking- so that's one less thing to worry about. I think my uncle and aunt will buy the hangover story.

LondonGirl83 · 14/03/2016 16:00

Oh, sorry duck we x-posted.

We totally need a hot water bottle icon. I always need one the first do the witch arrives so you have my sympathies!

Kwick709 · 14/03/2016 17:13

Viroids I am back at clinic after blood test to check my progesterone levels - apparently mine are half what they should be... I hope my chances are not scuppered already :(

ScottishLady7 · 14/03/2016 17:36

Oh kwick try to keep thinking positively, you are still PUPO!!

corgi88 · 14/03/2016 18:22

Aw kwick hope all is well, as Scottish says you are still PUPO!
I too have had a rubbish blood test,my tsh is 5.65 Shock it's supposed to be less than 2.5 if pg! eek. GP did not seem too pleased that I'd already upped my dose myself to 100mcg, but I don't care, I'm terrified I'll have another MC because of this. Grrr. Stupid thyroid :(

corgi88 · 14/03/2016 18:23

Sorry duck. [Chocolate]
canters so exciting!
And keeping gx for you london

lildottie · 14/03/2016 19:25

kwick focus on being pupo and that at least you know so can do something about it. Are you on progesterone support? I was on 1x400mg cyclogest twice a day until 12weeks pg. Progesterone at this stage is about preventing AF rather than having any impact on the embryo so hopefully they can get your levels up. Have they tested your oestrogen too? I was put on oestrogen on my first cycle due to size of follicles. The two hormones need to be in balance. Got everything crossed for you

justtheonethen · 14/03/2016 19:34

kwick try not to worry, do you have a plan in place now?

corgi ditto, what's your plan?

Thanks for you both

ChatEnOeuf · 14/03/2016 19:44

Ah Duck, Scottish I'm sorry.

Well done on pre-empting there, Corgi. I've started low-dose aspirin despite the evidence being pretty limited in the absence of any kind of thrombophilia. I'll take the obstetrician's advice as to when to stop though, there's even less evidence for that Grin

Kwick GX. Are you on progesterone? Hopefully they can get you sorted and settled.

Thanks for all the warm wishes. It's going to be a long journey - I hope.

Illiria · 14/03/2016 19:50

Corgi sorry your thyroid is being rubbish, how much are they upping your dose by?

Kwick709 · 14/03/2016 20:09

Thank you once again Viroids - you are such a lovely bunch :)

So I have been taking Lentogest (progesterone - through intramuscular injection 3 times a week) and Crinone (progesterone fanjo gel, twice a day) plus also taking daily Clexane injections (think this is to stop clots forming), Progynova tablets 3 times a day (oestrogen), aspirin 75mg and then LOADS of vitamins! I am now swapping Lentogest for Prontogest - which is a daily in the bum injection - also with a mahoosive needle. All this is consultant prescribed.

My thyroid was also tested today - came out at 2.78 - they want it below 2 so now moving to 50mg. I am glad I got this tested today despite my misgivings on the cost. I sure know how to spend money!

Seriously - if you shake me I rattle and my skin is a lovely shade of blue in quite a few places...

Nurse reassured me that lack of prog would not impact implantation so not to worry.

Not sure if they have tested my oestrogen... will ask at my next blood test on Saturday Hmm

Sorry for long message & earlier panic. PUPO, PUPO, PUPO!!!!!!

angelazul · 14/03/2016 20:24

Kwick everything crossed & chanting PUPO for you!!

Corgi good work upping thyroxine, I wouldn't worry too much about what the GP thinks, can you imagine what your tsh would've been of you hadn't increased you dosage Angry Have you been referred to endocrinology?

Sorry the witch got you duck Wine Chocolate

London don't mean to stir the crazy pot, but those symptoms do sound rather promising ...

Did another opk & it's most definitely negative, so may just see what each day brings. Did shoulder stand at yoga tonight for first time ever!!! I've got bad shoulders, so was feeling very smug with myself & invincible until I came back home & burnt my hand making dinner Sad

Canters15 · 14/03/2016 20:34

Corgi- what is with your gp?! You need to increase by 25-50% in early preg anyway even when stable, so you will probably need to go much higher!

Kwick- it's good its been picked up now. I'm sure it won't affect things. Pupo!

Kwick709 · 14/03/2016 20:41

angel I am so proud of you and your shoulder stand! Put some vitamin E on the burn it will help with healing.

I will ask again Canters please can you be my GP?

Catscatsandmorecats · 14/03/2016 21:24

angel good work on the shoulder stand Star

corgi88 · 14/03/2016 22:25

thank you viroids for all your thyroid indignation on my behalf :D and calming words. I was still in the titrating up period when I found out I was pg... should have just ignored the first idiot GP who said I didn't need to do anything, and upped my dose on the sly anyway. It's gone from 5.08 to 4.67 to 5.65! when will it be normal!?! I'm kind of tempted to go up to 150 already (I only have 100 + 50mcg tabs). Yay or nay?!
Rechecking in 2 weeks. Maybe should stick at 100mcg and see what happens? (upped myself from 50 last week after blood test).
angel not been referred to endocrinology yet, I think the midwife will do that when I book in with her. Though maybe I should get the GP to refer me in!
kwick you will be rattling! but all worth it for a beautiful baby.
still getting cramps - sat with hot water bottle. mmmm.

Canters15 · 14/03/2016 22:39

If it were me corgi I think I would increase. You've a long way to go to get tsh below 2. You could always break the 50s and go to 125 as a half way house if you wanted to be cautious...

Kwick- I would love to be Grin

corgi88 · 14/03/2016 23:03

Ah canters you wise owl. Have decided to up to 125, feel better already (mentally, not physically haha it doesn't work that fast! If only it did, I would have sweet release from this constipation Angry)
