Thread 10 ttc#1 The one where we're all really bored of hormones, the tww and cervical mucus or Why is my eggo not preggo!?

Symptom spotters, tww - ers, slightly hysterical hormone laden ladies! Regs, lurkers, intermittent posters! Our raison d'etre is 'am I pregnant?' Depending on how much Ovia (Whybird/Ovibitch) has pissed us off/messed with our fw she is either the oracle or a sanctimonious charlatan.

Just a warning, we move FAST! Our threads last on average, about a week before they're full.

Thread 10, Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in CM management!

We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies. Fart stories make us laugh, stories about cervical mucus, pooing, cysts and nausea equally welcome.

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, I have been dubbed the resident piss stick queen loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

We like acronyms, we make some up: PET = Proper expensive test. We love the d(h)...which can of course mean 'dearest' or 'dickhead' why, what were you thinking?

FX lillian

zazzles with you on the wind! Was in the pub after work last night and had to keep subtlety walking away to deal with it 😳

miley what a beautiful horse

LillianFullStop · 13/02/2016 12:03

I think the cheapie paper ones need dipping in a cup because you're not meant to go past a certain point. The FRER and CB can be done in the stream.

Mooseville · 13/02/2016 12:20

miley it often appears much more glamorous than it is in actual real life! But saying that, it can be a really rewarding job especially when you know you've taken someone really nasty off the streets!
I'm originally from up near your neck of the woods - nr Middlesbrough?

twinky I'd say hold off if you can? But who am I to give advice, I've not even peed on an OPK yet never mind a proper test!! God knows what I'll be like when it gets to that stage!

harrietm87 · 13/02/2016 12:22

sucha not a cup - a gu ramekin! That's the receptacle of choice round here! OH said he found one in the cupboard this week and didn't want to use it in case I'd pissed in it! (a) I thoroughly wash and then dishwasher them an (b) I've taken to keeping one in the bathroom anyway!

harrietm87 · 13/02/2016 12:25

I'm cd13 today and midway through my glow/fertility friend fw. The ovia one starts on tues. I've been dtd every other day but gonna try every day for next few days of we can.

I did parkrun this am and got a new pb! Really pleased! Does anyone else do it?

Chocaholic88 · 13/02/2016 12:25

Aww what a cutie miley !

We did a private tour of the Queens stables (the royal mews) and the household cavalry stables for my job and it was amazing. We're very lucky, we get to attend all the high profile shows etc. Sadly I won't be making it to Rio this year (even though we have alot of friends and contacts competing the the equestrian sports).

Moggysinger · 13/02/2016 12:54

harriet good going! Hope you succeed in your plan. my plan was also to dtd every day if possible whilst in fw but I've been sat on the loo since 7am with cystitis! Not how I planned to spend my most fertile day of the month! Ffs.

Also yes love a park run! But I'm 16 miles from my nearest one sadly. Well done on your pb, what was your time? My best for a 5k was about 24 mins but that was years ago. Last park run I did in the summer my time was 28 mins! Got my work cut out to beat my pb.

I work as an occupational therapist in the community working with older people. Its hard, still not convinced I am cut out for full time work if I'm completely honest!!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 13/02/2016 12:55

Cd 31. 14 dpo. Not testing. I'm exhausted today! Not been charting cm, boob soreness seems to be getting less.

I always pee in a cup and then dip. I always advocate waiting to test. Was going to poas tomorrow but I probably won't now.

Aw starky I think you should deffo test tomorrow!!! When is AF due?

moggy it was 24.13 - really pleased! My previous pb was 24.20 but I got that ages ago and recently have been more like 26, 27mins so I thought I'd never get there again! Lots of people do my local one with buggies so if I do have a baby I might keep going! Shame you don't have a local one anymore - I really like the community spirit at them.

harrietm87 · 13/02/2016 13:01

Ps moggy soz about the cystitis. Drink loads and wee loads is my usual strategy. Don't rule out a recovery by this eve!

SuchaJem · 13/02/2016 13:26

harriet hahaha at the gu ramekins! We DTD every other day during my fw - CD 18 now I'm hoping its paying off. Come on eggy...

moggy I qualified as an OT back in 2011 but came back to London broke and got a job back in marketing. Have never gone back to OT and feel quite guilty about this. It's an incredible job and I agree - not easy. The nhs is not an easy place to work for anyone these days it seems.

Fx starky

Feefeefs · 13/02/2016 13:39

Yes it must be a gu ramekin!

How's the DTD every day going harriet? We had to miss a day as DH had to wear an ambulatory ECG fri to mon this weekend and they only gave him enough replacement stickers for three showers (sat, sun, mon) and he won't DTD with it on as convinced the nurse will know ahem... How long he lastsBlush fair enough really.

I'm actually really enjoying the DTD each day we both commented that we feel much closer, we can sometimes lapse into once a week or less normally. My libido is also definitely much higher since stopping the pill.

Also question does anyone else get more spots around ovulation?

Feefeefs · 13/02/2016 13:39

Oh also well done on the pb harriet!Star

StarkyTheDirewolf · 13/02/2016 13:42

harriet af not due till next Saturday at the earliest. Plus be another fortnight going off longest cycle! I may test the middle of next week, I'd be surprised if I got a bfp this cycle now though because of all af symptoms this week.

moggy definetly tank as much water as you can. Literally pints, to try and flush it out. That's what I do. Cyctitis sucks! Flowers

Thanks jem

Chocaholic88 · 13/02/2016 13:55

stark I've never heard of a luteal phase longer than 16 days? Is that normal for you?

SuchaJem · 13/02/2016 13:56

feef totally agree about feeling closer to my DH since ttc. We got quite lazy with sex last year - sometimes a month could go by and we hadn't done it. I don't know why as we both really enjoy it when we do get round to it! Having this new incentive to shag so much is great.

Although I'm only on cycle 2 - not sure if I'd be saying this in 6 months time..

Moggysinger · 13/02/2016 14:30

Yes feef with you re. how it brings you closer, nice little perk! And I'm the same with libido post pill ... Probably hence the cystitis!! Blush
I really don't think I'll go back on long term contraception until I'm completely done with procreation. I didn't realise how much the pill affected me and I'm think I could stay baby-free just by tracking my cycle like I am doing now.
Thanks ladies I am so bloated with water I now look 6 months pregnant, also been drinking bicarbonate of soda, and little shots of vinegar! Oh and peeing in the bath so that bladder can totally relax! (don't tell dh) thank God for google, starting to feel better finally

Kwick709 · 13/02/2016 14:31

Very exciting lillian do a frer tomorrow with fmu!!!!

Thanks elle

Feefeefs · 13/02/2016 14:32

True sucha if no bfp this month we're giving it a break for March/April so should keep things fresh! I know it might seem mad to some people but quite keen to avoid December/January baby (obviously if still TTC this time next year won't care) me, DS, DB all have birthday in December and January and we all hate it plus think it was a massive expense to DPs as we were growing up.

Feefeefs · 13/02/2016 14:35

Glad your starting to feel better moggy. I was terrible on the pill was on 7 different types and the implant and just bled and bled and bled! No wonder I had a crap libido! DH has agreed no more hormonal contraception. Baby making till we are done and then he gets the snip Smile

Moggysinger · 13/02/2016 14:38

Harriet that's a great time for a 5k You must be in great baby making condition! I bet ovia is very pleased with you! Grin

such yay Im excited, a fellow OT! do you think you will return to it in the future? It seems quite straightforward to return to practice, we've got one with us at the moment who has been out of the profession for 20 years! But she's like a duck to water Smile Nhs is so hard atm, I'm thinking of making the jump over to private, but feel sad about it, love the nhs but think it will break me mentally and physically if I stay in it for much longer Sad

Snowdog37 · 13/02/2016 14:38

I haven't tested. I'm too nervous and stressed over it. I get so upset over a bfn it's almost better just to see if af shows up on Monday or Tuesday. I'm going to enjoy this weekend with dh and put testing to the back of my mind.
Happy Valentine's weekend every one hope you all feel extra specially loved and loving ❤️💐🎉💐❤️

SuchaJem · 13/02/2016 15:10

moggy can't tell you how great it is to know people come back after a long break, that really gives me hope I could do it. I don't blame you for considering the private sector. Do you want to stay with older people?

I wouldn't go back to hormonal contraception either. Haven't taken the pill for about 5-6 years and just wouldn't go back to it. After the babies it'll be the coil for me until DH considers the snip.

feef I was also thinking about a break March/April for the same reason. Will see how this months goes and then think about it properly if we need to.

snow that sounds like a good idea - I hope you can get your mind off it and enjoy your weekend with you oh
