MrsU was that to me asking how long TTC?

It was 11 months of charting and always a luteal phase of 7-9 days. 6 months of actively trying but conceived first month on progesterone. I have no doubt that it was the progesterone that helped me and was just what I needed to keep my levels high enough to implant. I got my bfp on 12dpo with spotting from 10dpo.

23 weeks and I can feel the kicks from the outside now. Keep the faith ladies!

mascaraisamust · 07/02/2016 07:00

Haha how strange Mrs, we talk too much! It's a boy, Grin I was right! My love of cheese gave it away for me. I just 'knew'.

I'm with mrsmugoo, same for me on the progesterone front, bfp second cycle after mc, first month on progesterone. Now 17 weeks. I totally agree with the being informed as possible mrs, I almost had to 'tell' them what I wanted and how I wanted to be treated by stating my facts and research I had done. I disagreed with some of the things they said as 'keep trying' come back in 6 months was not what I wanted to hear Confused

OrianaBanana · 07/02/2016 07:46

In shock. But mostly very worried about the stickiness as all my hormones are rock bottom and I am bleeding now (lightly but it's bright red).

My temperature has also come right down.

Friendlycav · 07/02/2016 08:41

That is a strong positive Oriana! Tentative congratulations and try not to worry. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Wow, interesting that progesterone worked for both of you mascara and mrsmugoo. Please can I ask how you took the progesterone? Was it cream or pessary? I've been advised to buy some natural progesterone cream by my Chinese herbalist but not sure if that will be strong enough.

FuzzyOwl · 07/02/2016 11:51

Congratulations Oriana and I had quite a lot of bleeding at cd10 and 11 with my DC but all was fine didn't stop me worrying for nine months though

Congratulations as well mascara. Smile

I think I need to find some progesterone gel to use. I have heard good things about it and need something to enable my BFP.

"Keep trying" is not a solution or a fix for a short luteal phase - that's an acceptable suggestion for unexplained infertility with a typical regular cycle!

Progesterone is a good starting point if you know you're ovulating but a short luteal phase means your progrsterone level is dropping too soon for a fertilised egg to implant. It simply just artificially keeps it raised so you're on a level playing field.

The NHS don't want to know though - GPs don't have enough of an understanding so you get packed off with the typical "keep trying" nonsense.

Go private - get an overdraft, a loan, a credit card whatever it takes! It's not that much money and will short cut all the stress of the NHS bullshit!

mrsmugoo · 07/02/2016 14:06

Congrats oriana! Fingers crossed it sticks Thanks

mrsmugoo · 07/02/2016 14:07

Oh and congrats on team blue mascara - how exciting! Now you can chose a name!

mascaraisamust · 07/02/2016 14:55

Orianna! Had a feeling! Wow that's early too.Maybe you ovulated early! Fab news!!

Pessaries friendlycav, I would be cautious of the creams/gels, I nearly did the same when I was desperate.

Thanks for the congrats, I'm getting a little bit more confident each day. Once I get to the 20 week scan I'll believe it! Everyone else around me is getting carried away and I'm staying quite reserved.

How are you Oriana? Hope all is ok.

Not much to report here, not entirely sure when I ovulated but temperatures are above the cover line so guess I did around cd14. I'm now 7dpo, using progesterone cream and still on the Chinese herbs. Will be interested to see if these to anything to lengthen my short luteal phase. Trying to stay positive.

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

OrianaBanana · 09/02/2016 11:07

Not much to report I'm afraid friendlycav - still bleeding but still apparently pregnant (I'd say almost 4 weeks pregnant, or 11 days po now, been bleeding since 7 dpo). I'm currently experiencing the joys of being passed from pillar to post - the midwives can't really do anything as it's too early for scans to show anything, and the GP says to talk to the midwives - but I think I'm going to have to try and push for blood tests with the GP to see if I have low progesterone and can get some help - I think that's all I can do really.

Good luck with the cream friendlycav, fingers crossed!

Friendlycav · 09/02/2016 12:09

Keeping my fingers crossed for you too Oriana

mascaraisamust · 09/02/2016 17:42

Orianna everything crossed, do push for bloods. Hopefully the bleeding will calm down, it's more common than you think. So hard not to stress x

Hi Mrsunsure yes I bit the bullet and bought that progesterone cream. No idea if it's doing anything but thought it worth a try! AF is due tomorrow but I've promised myself I'm not going to test until the weekend. No symptoms other than feeling bloated but think that could be more to do with rich food I've eaten Confused. My temperature is dropping so I'm not hopeful. Really good luck with your appointment, I hope you are able to get some answers x

I know how you feel. Everywhere I look there are pregnant people and what to scream 'seriously, how did you do it'?? Seems so unfair that some people can fall so quickly and easily.

No side effects at all! Which makes me think it's not doing much but I'm going to stick with it. AF due tomorrow and my cycle is usually 24 days so will report back and let you know if it (or the Chinese herbs) have extended my luteal phase.. fx!

Relaxed sounds good, hope some of that rubs off on me!

Friendlycav · 11/02/2016 09:06

Where do you actually put progesterone cream?!

sunshinegirl12 · 11/02/2016 12:11

Hi Ladies, am still on hols so havent been keeping up with things but have been wondering how everyone is getting on. Just had a quick read through so sorry if I've missed anything...

Oriana, wow, congratulations, hope it all works out for you.

Sunshine, good to hear the medium has definitely predicted children in your future, esp twins (oh how I would love twins to save going through this worry again.)

Mascara, congrats on baby being a boy. Smile

I'm feeling miserable today too as I'm only 11dpo and AF arrived this morning, knew it was coming though as at 8dpo when I wiped had a bright red streak and quite a big clot which I've never had like that before, fully expected AF to start then but nothing since until today, so an odd cycle for me. Sad

Have got my private appt with internal scan and an acupuncture / chinese herbalist appt in a couple of weeks, maybe I should ask to be booked in for a AMH blood test too and also going to ask about getting my tubes checked (HSG?) privately too.

Hope everyone else is ok, sorry if I have missed anything else. xx
