I'm doing ok thanks Mrs. Trying to keep busy to take my mind off ttc. I had an appt with my herbalist yesterday who thought my temperature chart for last cycle looked great so I'm going to persevere with the herbs and cyclogest and see if I get anywhere. I've decided to postpone my HSG as its going to be hard for me to get time off work next week and it's £425 so hoping my referral comes through soon and I can get that done on the NHS.

When are you getting scanned again?

Friendly good news your chart looks better! Very expensive though for HSG!!

Mrs good luck with clomid. I thought that's what I'd be given today but nope.

Had my gynae appointment today. Being sent for HSG which she said I'll get a letter with appointment on and then go back in two months to discuss results.

Also been given forms to have progesterone blood test again but on cycle day 18, 21 & 23 (I said I usually ovulate CD18) as she wants to see if I missed the surge last time.

She also said if bloods and HSG come back clear then she won't order any further tests until we've been trying past the two year mark as she said by then 95% of couples will have conceived naturally. Such a long wait.

DH's SA came back all fine so at least no problems there.

10DPO today so at least LP is longer than last months 7days!

I think my ovulation is rubbish too and wondering if I should suggest clomid if I don't have any luck with cyclogest after a few months. Spoke to GP today and apparently I'll get my NHS referral within 4 weeks. I wont let on that I'm on cyclogest so will be interesting to see what they suggest. I wonder why they recommend clomid before HSG, perhaps clomid is less expensive?

Mrs - fingers crossed for you. Seems like your clinic's ovulation prediction was spot on so that's a really great sign and hope your luteal phase is good too.

Sunshine2015 - great that your luteal phase is better than previous cycles. When will you test?

Sunshine12 - really sorry I won't be able to share my HSG experience before you have yours. I've been reading up on it lots and you have nothing to worry about x

sunshinegirl12 · 17/03/2016 22:25

Sunshine, try to stay positive, alot of ladies seem to conceive shortly after the HSG so that is giving me a little hope right now as I should be having mine soon too, though privately as im too impatient. Did they say anything about your suspected endo and bad period pains? x

sunshinegirl12 · 17/03/2016 22:30

Friendly, good to hear that your charts are looking great. I had another session tonight and I do feel its starting to do something rather than that I'm just lying there with a few pins stuck in me. I'm on CD12 and had a few sharp pains in my left side today which the acupuncturist later said that is the side I'm ovulating on, so hoping maybe its a stronger ovulation this cycle (I can hope). I may also be starting on the herbs soon too, do you know what herbs you take? x

Sunshinegirl2015 · 17/03/2016 23:03

Mrs we've been trying for nearly 16 months. Bloods for progesterone at 7DPO last time were 20 but AF arrived the day after.

Friendly I probley wouldn't test until I was 13DPO as my longest LP ever was 12days and I've peed on so many sticks only to get BFNs.

Sunshine I'm staying positive. We've just bought a dog and get him at the end of April so that'll occupy my mind a little and give me something else to focus on :)

She doesn't think it's endo as pain isn't every month and said every woman has different pain threshold when I said some months AF is so painful I'm actually sick or faint. Hmm.

Amazing that accupuncturist can tell what side you'll ovulate on! I do want to try it but it sounds expensive.

Friendlycav · 18/03/2016 07:40

Sunshine12 - I actually don't know what the herbs are that I take. All I know is that they are a mix of about 10 different herbs that have been specially prescribed for me. I take one batch up to day 12, different herbs days 13-16 (around ovulation) and different ones again from day 17 onwards x

OrianaBanana · 18/03/2016 08:18

Thinking of trying acupuncture/Chinese medicine but I was worried it would interfere with whatever drugs I get given at my referral (if any). Maybe I should just start acupuncture/herbs anyway? Referral is taking so long.

DH has an appointment for his SA but it's just around my ovulation and he has to abstain for 2-5 days (WTF? Is it 2 or is it 5 - or 3 or 4??).

AIBU to ask him to postpone? He got v grumpy about it - I think he just doesn't like talking about his sperm on the phone to strangers Smile

And then does he have to knock one out Blush in advance so it's 5? Otherwise it will probably be 7 days' abstinence Blush

Keep going ladies, it's good to know there is lots of help being taken and professionals involved, we will get there!

Oriana I know 2-5 days is confusing. My DH had his sperm analysis on a Tuesday morning at 9am. We DTD Saturday lunchtime and then abstained so it was about 2.5 days for us with no BDing.

He had to cum in a little pot and we had to get the pot to the hospital pathology lab by 9am and within an hour of him ejactulating (with school traffic etc. We were teeth brushed shoes by the door ready to go - so sexy haha).

GP also told him results would take 3-4 weeks but pathologist told him 5-7 working days so he got results over phone and all was good.

Hope that helps!

Hi ladies, still lurking and rooting for you. Sounds like everyone is going in the right direction, fingers crossed some bfps are on the horizon! X

Sunshinegirl2015 · 19/03/2016 06:58

Mrs I know what you mean my DH doesn't touch himself like that so I dressed up in a kinky outfit and tried to make a role play out of it but where i couldn't use lube I don't think it was too comfortable for him.

Woke up at 05:50 today. Felt pain so quickly took my codeine, paracetamol and ibuprofen like GP told me. Writhed in pain, cried from pain, dry heaved a lot but it's finally kicked in and I'm now blissfully pain free ish. AF arrived with full force. 10 day LP thought which is better!

Hey everyone, just been catching up, looks like I'm first out of us to go for my HSG/HyCoSy which is on Weds. Will report back. They've said there's no need to take time off work but to take someone with you so you don't have to drive straight away.
Mine's at 4pm but I probably would have taken the afternoon off anyway just in case.

Mrsunsure I think they're probably asking for AMH just to get further info. It's not standard as in you have to pay for it, but I don't think them asking means there's a problem. You shouldn't get a bill for any of the other bloods!

For those with DH doing SA, my DH has done 2 now, both times he didn't want me around - the first time he used the room at the hospital, but this time did it at home as we only live about 15 mins from the hospital. He found it was easier doing it at the hospital which surprised me! Should get the results at the same time as my HyCoSy. I gather it is important that the prior abstinence isn't more than 5 days - even if that means they have to get on with it themselves. I do feel for them!

Also Oriana I would not feel unreasonable asking my DH to move his test to when I'm not ovulating... mind you I deal with all the appointments so he probably wouldn't realised I'd tweaked the timing!

Glad your painkillers are working sunshine.

Mrsunsure, really don't feel guilty, you still need to have a life.

Its hard isnt it, but its still important to enjoy life and not feel your life is totally on hold. We are jetting off for a romantic weekend over bank holiday with AF due the day after we get home, and I will be enjoying a few drinks while away and trying not to focus on if I have conceived (although I know I would feel bad if I did get my BFP), but I am usually pretty good and don't over indulge which hasn't done me any favours so far. Hmm I did wonder if everyone else has given up alcohol, esp in the 2ww.

I'm doing ok, trying not to focus on ttc too much and just stay positive, esp as I'm still not sure about the redundancy. If I stop and think about it for too long it just seems to take over and drag me down. x

Mrs don't feel bad! I'm not a drinker either. Still need to let hair down once in a while though.

Also I'd have thought they would've mentioned payment if it was required?

Just got a copy of the letter my gynaecologist sent to my GP. Seeing the words "27 year old suffering from primary subfertility" made me feel sad Sad

Good luck for Wednesday Iambear x
