Mascara, hope your scan goes well today x

Friendlycav · 29/02/2016 17:22

Yes good luck Mascara, hope it goes well.

Glad you are feeling better today Mrsunsure, still no sign of AF?

sunshinegirl12 · 29/02/2016 18:07

Friendly, how are you getting on now? Have you started the progesterone? x

Wishing you lots of luck for tomorrow Mrs, keep us posted. As others have said, worst case you have extended your luteal phase which is great.

I'm 4dpo and started the progesterone suppositories yesterday. No side effects other than a slightly weird taste in my mouth! I will find it really hard if I get BFN this month.. I've heard that progesterone can extend a cycle so mustn't get too hopeful if AF is late. DH and I travelled so much to see each other during my fertile window this cycle, it all seems so unfair.

Sunshine, when are you going to get the HSG test done? I'm tempted to get it done next cycle just to get it out of the way.. apparently the month you have it done you are extra fertile as the tubes are all flushed out!

OrianaBanana · 29/02/2016 19:01

I'm gearing up for ovulation now (Shock) - OPK is relatively faint so it may be a few days off yet.

Good luck tomorrow mrs!

Friendly, when I get next AF I'm going to ring in and book it as they said it needs to be done before ovulation, will get the AMH bloods done at same time. I've also heard it can make you extra fertile for a while afterwards so in a strange way I'm quite looking forwards to having it done.Smile

Fx for you this month with the progesterone. Did you get it through the NHS or is it a private prescription? x

Friendlycav · 29/02/2016 19:14

Thanks girls x

When I had my private consultant appt, the doctor said there was nothing obvious that he thought was preventing me from getting pregnant (not helpful!). He suggested an HSG test to rule out blocked tubes, I think I read somewhere that blocked tubes are the cause of 20% of infertility issues. I would assume that if you have been pregnant before then this is less likely to be an issue. I asked what I could do to extend my luteal phase as I was convinced this was an issue. I said that I had tried progesterone cream but he dismissed this as very 'homeopathic'. He said progesterone suppositories were more effective but that he recommended I wait until I had the results of further tests until I tried it. I said I didn't want to wait and insisted he wrote a prescription for me! Thankfully he did.

Friendlycav · 29/02/2016 19:17

The progesterone was a private prescription. Sunshine, I'm going to do the same and call for an appt for HSG test when (if!) I get AF. I think we are at a similar point in our cycles so keep me posted! Agrer I'm almost looking forward to it, anything that might help I'm willing to try!

sunshinegirl12 · 29/02/2016 19:28

I have just read a bit more about the procedure, it sounds horrible but anything to get a BFP. Fx you won't need it and the progesterone will work first time x

Hey everyone just been catching up. I find when I check mumsnet everyday I obsess over TTC. Sorry for the AFs. Everyone seems to be around the stage where they're getting get help now though?

I think we're all around the same stage.

We started TTC January 2015 so have been trying for just over a year.

So far I've had two internal ultrasound scans, one external ultrasound scan, smear test and blood tests at CD21 and 8DPO (clinic is closed sat and sun and 7DPO would've been the sunday). Everything so far has come back fine except I have a small left ovary they wasn't sure ovulated (I chart BBT so know it does) and my progesterone level was 20.

I've been reffered to a gynaecologist which I'm seeing in three weeks and DH is booked in for SA next week - this has all been on NHS.

LP changes month to month with my longest being 12days but most months it's 9days and Ive noticed the months when it's shorter I suffer a lot of pain with AF and have prescription codeine to manage the pain. I suspect it could be endometriosis as my mum had it but some doctors say it is and others say it's not hereditary.

I'm going to ask for progesterone at my appointment as it seems to have success on here and I'm sure it's my progesterone levels that are problem and casuing short LP.

When charting my temps are usually high 35C/low 36C before ovulation and low 36C after ovulation. My coverline is usually about 36.1C

CD13 here and Sod's law I'm due to ovulate the day DH has his SA and has to withhold ejaculating for a couple of days prior haha.

My GP has mentioned clomid a couple of times but they always dismiss LP being a problem.

Hopefully it works for you Mrs. How many lots of blood tests have you had to test progesterone levels? As my LP can vary I wonder if I'd have the same as you with some months different levels of progesterone.

Keep us posted on clomid!

mrsmugoo · 01/03/2016 17:29

Excellent news MrsU! Being scanned is the best monitoring you can get, so that is really reassuring.

sunshinegirl12 · 01/03/2016 17:32

Good news mrsunsure. Did your AF arrive then? Sorry if i missed you saying.

Sunshine, is there a test they can do to check if it is endo? x

Sunshine12 yeah it's called a laparoscopy but apparently it's not a very nice procedure.

Mrsunsure wow lots of blood tests. Good luck with the clomid. It sounds positive and surely they would have prescribed progesterone if they thought you needed it? X

Hi ladies, I have posted here before but struggle to keep up as I'm on a few different threads... I've got short luteal phase 8-9 days AND Polycystic ovaries (splendid!!). Just wondering if I can ask you a question as you are likely to know better than my GP! She wanted to do my day 21 bloods on day 21, but I'm on day 28 now and I know I haven't ovulated! I said I though they should be 7dpo but she disagreed and said anytime post ovulation was ok. Is this true?? I had a scan at 7dpo last month and there was no corpus luteum because I think my progesterone had already dropped too low, I came on the next day. If I have bloods 7dpo would my progesterone already be dropping? Should I have them done earlier?

Thanks
Amy

Hi Amy, I agree with Mrs, I'd go for day 21 bloods 7dpo.

Mrsunsure, so happy to hear you had a good meeting with the consultant and you are making progress. Please keep us updated on how things go with clomid. Keeping everything crossed for you x
