Sorry to hear that Mrs Flowers you sounded so upbeat yesterday. It's a real emotional rollercoaster isn't it. Try and stay positive (I know easier said than done) but at least you have some medication and I'm sure it will help. It's really great that you trust the clinic and you are in their care now, so many positive steps forward!

TMI but the progesterone suppositories are making me really constipated and emotional. My BBT was the highest it has ever been since temping this morning so hopefully that is a good thing. Mrs, hormones do crazy things so I'm sure it's the clomid that's affecting your mood today x

mrsmugoo · 02/03/2016 17:41

Constipation is a very common early pregnancy symptom - when can you test??

Friendlycav · 02/03/2016 17:54

Thanks Mrsmugoo - I'm only 6dpo so not getting hopeful yet x

Sunnydays321 · 02/03/2016 17:54

Thanks mrsunsure and friendly. I will patiently wait for ovulation and then book my bloods. Cycle day 30 and no sign yet! :(

Will be interesting to see how you get on with clomid, I think that's what they will suggest for me. Hope you feel better and bad AF symptoms settle down soon. And Hope you don't get baby bombed at the weekend. But It's ok to feel happy for other people and jealous and unhappy for yourself at the same time. I read something once that makes me feel shit but also better in equal measure: there aren't a certain amount of pregnancies to go around, if they weren't pregnant it doesn't mean you would be pregnant in their place, and vice versa. Kinda gives me a bit of perspective. It's still shit though. I'm a midwife and I'm normally pretty good at seeing my patients with a bit of professional distance... but iv had a lot of women recently who say "we only had sex once" or "I was on the pill" or we got pregnant the first month" agh, happy for them but jealous for me!! X

It's a bit tricky because obviously I only see people once they are actually pregnant, so I miss out on a lot of the trying/treatment stages. But I know lots of gynaecologists believe that it's a strong ovulation, resulting in a good corpus luteum that results in higher progesterone levels.. This fixing the ovulation with clomid results in higher progesterone.. Ie treating the cause rather than the symptom. Lots of gynaes believe the jury is a bit out still as to whether progesterone helps or not... But I have seen it used successfully, particularly when people have had recurrant miscarriages. But some of the gynaecologists I know won't start people on it until later. It seems to differ from Dr to Dr. But like I say... I'm not an expert as all my patients have got past that bit!

Iv just been out for dinner with friends: one is pregnant, one has just started trying for no 2 (and I'm sure she will be very soon..she conceived on the very 1st try 1st time) and another friend has a surprise baby! Seems so easy for them! They talked about babies all night. People keep asking if we are thinking about babies yet and I just kept having to brush over the topic as we haven't told anyone :(

Have you ladies told people or not? I just don't want to get into it with everyone and have them looking at me every time I go out, or have a glass of wine /don't have a glass of wine etc. x

OrianaBanana · 03/03/2016 07:10

I find recently if people ask me about babies, saying 'Oh, I've just had a miscarriage' shuts them up. I don't really mind people knowing (it's not a big secret) and really people asking about my and my partners' reproductive plans really pisses me off! Angry

Mascara - hope your 20 week scan went well?

Mascara/MrsMugoo - I wondered if either of you charted your temps when on cyclogest? I'm 8dpo and my temperature has usually started dropping by now but it was the highest it has ever been this morning. Trying not to read too much into it as I know it is artificially elevated but wondering if either of you had any experience of this?

mrsmugoo · 04/03/2016 13:44

No I didn't temp on cyclogest, in fact I always stopped taking my temps after ovulation anyway as I didn't want to fixate on what happened after.

Fingers crossed for you!!

Friendlycav · 04/03/2016 14:06

Thanks for your reply Mrs, perhaps I should stop fixating! x

mascaraisamust · 04/03/2016 17:05

Oh friendlycav, good sign. How many dpo now? When will you test?

20 week scan went great thanks, just need one more at 36 but it's definitely a boy, confirmed twice now! Still nervous, fixating on movement now Confused ah it's doesn't get better!

Mrsunsure, don't be down! My private consultant wanted me to try Clomid first before the nhs gave me the cyclogest, he said the same thing that it would bring a stronger egg and naturally increase progesterone levels as a result and hopefully have an impact on LP. He wanted me to try it for 3 cycles before reconsidering be dosage. I was more than happy to try this!

mascaraisamust · 04/03/2016 17:07

Oh and I did take my temp and it was high. I'll try find what it was if I read back, but maintained higher hence why I tested early at 10 dpo. Though I was rubbish at temping so I only temped after ovulation Hmm

I was also told the exact same thing about clomid by my private doctor - he was going to try me on it after 3 cycles of cyclogest.

Don't stress about thinking you "need" progesterone to sustain a pregnancy - clomid totally artificially regulates your cycle so your levels should be just fine (like a "normal" person!)

mrsmugoo · 04/03/2016 17:55

Oh and my best friend is 6 weeks ahead of me - she conceived first month of trying on clomid after 2 years of trying - not ovulating and thin womb lining.

I really am rooting for you all.

Mrsunsure did you get CF close to ovulation? I don't usually have any or much at all.

Went from having low fertility on CB OPK all week to today having peak fertility with no high fertility detected. We DTD yesterday but now are withholding as DH has his SA test Tuesday. Sod's law eh? We were joking last night that it's worked out well that I'm ovulating later than usual as it meant we wouldn't miss the window. No CF though.

Sunshinegirl2015 · 06/03/2016 09:26

Thanks. The more I read about clomid the more I think I may ask for it. My GP seemed to reckon the gynaecologist may give me clomid. Two weeks until my appointment and a month until DHs SA results.

mrsmugoo · 06/03/2016 12:18

I would say clomid is the belt and braces approach with progesterone just being a bit of a "helping hand". But who cares how you get there if you end up with a baby I say?!
