Thread 6! Wowzers! Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in cm management!

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, a resident piss stick queen runner, loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

But on the whole, we're a good bunch, especially bunch who is literally, a bunch. bunch

Aww snow I'm the same. AF cramps and general pre menstrual gloom is kicking me in the balls today. We aren't out until she actually shows up of course, but like you I don't want to get falsely hopeful. I can't fucking help it though!! Especially these last few days. I just kept thinking maybe it's my month, and then it's a blow. So even though I know I'm being inpatient and just need to buck up, I completely feel your pain!

LaraG13 · 20/01/2016 10:59

*impatient

Snowdog37 · 20/01/2016 11:04

It's a real pisser isn't it Lara 😝 I tell myself each day it's all good, what will be will be. And I'm ok with that. However it gets to the last couple of days before af and I am so maudlin and it all seems hopeless. Flaming hormones are a pita. I'm fully expecting af tonight or tomorrow. On the positive side at least I have had two reliably good length literal phases. I'm ovulating. Haven't killed dh from too much sex. And this is only month two of Properly Trying. It's all good.

Now where's the cake? 🍰

Snowdog37 · 20/01/2016 11:05

*luteal phases. Literal phases I've had none.

Mileymoocow · 20/01/2016 11:08

harriet yes! It's a bit misleading sometimes.

LaraG13 · 20/01/2016 11:11

snow we're fine! We need to eat all the cake and stop moaning 😄

firstgo1984 · 20/01/2016 11:13

kat yes I think i am hopping onto the feb. bus (I hope it's not the march bus!) unless ovulation suddenly happens!!

LaraG13 · 20/01/2016 11:16

You don't need to stop moaning btw snow. That was more a note to myself! It's nice that we can share the shitty bits of the process as well as the good bits

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/01/2016 11:18

Congratulations leonie that certainly looks like a positive to me! Grin

I’ve been away for a few days and missed so much! 10 pages to catch up on!

Bug and Leonie - many congratulations! Such lovely news!

Feef and other talking about Ovia – right, you have all convinced me to download FF and use that as well as Ovia. I see what you mean about the differences as it’s already showing different projections to Ovia, and I guess using more than one will help me see a better picture.

I don’t like the user interface of FF so much, but accurate data is obviously more important. Ovia had me down to test on 28th Jan, while FF is saying 30th.

Jam - “No, I feel emotional and you're making me worse!!!! Cruel, cruel Ovia” – I’ve never had this, but you’re right, that is fucking ridiculous.

Holly300 - yep, I also check them just to see if anything’s changed. What do I think will happen?? So sad….

Sorry to everyone whose AF has arrived. Such a horrible beast she is.

Harriet - yes, me too! I also wonder if something at work has aroused me and it’s just my own excitement… because I’m a spreadsheetophile and like other things I do in my job too

Chocaholic88 · 20/01/2016 11:57

Congratulations leonie

I'm still feeling sick, metal taste in my mouth was replaced for 2 hours this morning by the overwhelming taste of cigarettes (I don't smoke and neither does OH)

back to metal now!

Pinklily1 · 20/01/2016 11:57

Congrats Leonie, looks like a line to me!

IrregularCommentary · 20/01/2016 12:15

Harriet Yes - always! It's really annoying! Especially as I never seem to really get proper sticky stuff so I think it gives me false jizzy hope.

Chocaholic88 · 20/01/2016 12:26

Question... do you ladies count your DPO as the number of days since your first positive OPK or from 12-48 hrs after that?

Just sat here wondering lol

firstgo1984 · 20/01/2016 12:31

choc i went for 48 hrs after as that was my peak EWCM and my cervix was really high! Plus my AF came 16 days after my first positive.

regarding FF is it any better for irregular cycles than ovia. I am not temping if that makes a difference.

Confusedcat1 · 20/01/2016 12:38

I am using ovia and pink pad. They both gave me totally different fertile weeks, so I covered both with dtd every other day. I think an app can never really tell us when we are fertile, how could it? It's all just guestimation... Trying to keep my chin up but feeling rubbish somehow. I don't know.. Can I have some of that cake?

Bugmuncher · 20/01/2016 12:46

leonie congratulations!! How many DPO are you?

IndiX · 20/01/2016 12:49

Aargh ovia has changed my FW AGAIN! I had EWCM last night and now have watery cm so put that in and it's changed my FW by a day later whereas yesterday it was a day earlier than originallyAngry, I'm just going to have to keep shagging every day to make sure poor DH will have balls like prunes at the end of this cycle

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/01/2016 13:20

Re:opk, I go from the day I got a first positive result, anything thereafter is considered x dpo. My okp's Tried today! Hurrah! I went for the thicker strips and can honestly say they tend easier to read, I did one for posterity and one of my other ones that I had left over, and have decided that I shall do one each day at 1 pm from now on to see if I can judge a progression, I love okp's! Boo to the potential AFs, Lara and Snow. I'm keeping everything crossed that she stays away.

Harriet, yes! I did read somewhere that it can be quite confusing. I guess all that residual junk has to come out somewhere though unless there's a little ocean of dead sperm somewhere in my reproductive system.

I've had EWCM since Sunday (CD 11) despite Clue/Ovia not predicting ovulation until next Saturday (CD 17) based on my cycles but it's starting to dry up now so I think the moment may have passed. Hopefully we've caught it but now feel like we're in for a very long 2+ weeks until AF is due in Feb.

ImpYCelyn · 20/01/2016 13:47

Wow, I went away for just under 24 hours and the thread is huge. I need to make a mental note to check in hourly Grin

Congrats Leonie that's great news!!

evergreen yes your cervix literally moves and changes position. Broadly: up and down, backwards and forwards. Some tilting happens too. So it could be that in certain positions you're hitting it. Or rather, DP is hitting it GrinGrin

I'm still spotting. 8dpo, and a week off af according to FF. Goodness knows. I don't have any other symptoms, except a weird smell thing last night - DH was cutting a cucumber and it smelled like the freshest, ripest thing ever, almost fruity, i could smell it from the sofa and wouldn't believe it was a cucumber. He was like Hmm. But aside from that, nada.

I saw the surgeons yesterday, and they won't take my stitches out til the end of next week, do I've been signed off fur another week. This is terrible for my credit card! I can't go out, so I'm jus shopping on line. I'm going to get knitting for baby stuff though.

Okay, literally in the time taken to write this I've developed cramps. Wtf?

ImpYCelyn · 20/01/2016 14:02

Oh re other threads. When I had my first two I was on mn quite a bit and posted all over the place. And then experienced some really mean-spirited, unsympathetic posters towards me, and it seemed to be happening more and more elsewhere too. I left and went to a different forum where people were much kinder. Then there was an exodus to Facebook, and eventually the Facebook group got nasty too and the forum was basically dead.

So this time I decided I'd join a nice TTC group, a pregnant group ( hopefully), and basically stick with those. I don't plan to post anywhere else, just read the odd thing (I do love baby names for a laugh).

miley I was 24 when I got pregnant with DS1. My midwife was so patronising and condescending. Without asking anything she told me about the evening classes post birth do I could finish my education (at the time I had a masters and was a graduate medical student), she offered me a letter for my benefits adviser (I didn't have one) and asked if the father knew and was planning to be involved (I was married to him). And DH is 9 years older. I think it's great they offer all those things, but to just assume I needed them because I was "young" was a bit rude. And I wasn't even that young - at 24 with my first I was clearly plenty old enough to have finished my education etc.

Anyway, people are funny and it depends who you meet - in the school I trained in (I left medical school and became a teacher when DS2 was 18mo), the girls thought I was really old to have a 3 year old (28), a good few of my 11 year olds, and some of the older ones, had mums my age. I've met so many mums now, older and younger than me, all doing it differently and all doing it just fine. Makes no difference in the end.

Some people have read everything going before they TTC, some find out once they start, no one should be rude to you however you do it! Meanies.

FXSkip · 20/01/2016 14:13

ImpYCelyn that's fairly outrageous, great that they offer those things but really they should ask your circumstances first!

So, Ovia has changed its prediction of my fertile week from next week to this week, however this would imply that I would have ovd CD 9 (or 10 if it was today) I think this is based on a dipped BBT last 2 days and 2 days of inconclusive OPKs - I had a couple of days of control line only, and then 2 days of faint test line (and darker control line) which is supposed to be a negative - but wondering if I am building up to OV and should just ignore Ovia for now?

KatOnATinRo0f · 20/01/2016 14:27

Impy are you a doctor too??

KatOnATinRo0f · 20/01/2016 14:30

I DL FF, I don't think it's very user friendly on the iPhone. Don't like all the drop down menus. I like ovia for its ease of use, haven't tried any others. I use it really to date when my period is, when I've had sex and when I have a peak OPK. From that we can figure out when fertile anyway surely. What's glow like I haven't heard of that before.
