Thread 6! Wowzers! Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in cm management!

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, a resident piss stick queen runner, loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

But on the whole, we're a good bunch, especially bunch who is literally, a bunch. bunch

No I didn't holly couldn't decide if it was wishful thinking or not. However i did note that when the dye dried, it had dried on the strip at the very top and bottom where the positive line would be and superrrrrrrrr faint probably evap in the middle...

Hahahahaha snowdog .. that's basically what the OH said when I got home last night 😂😂

Chocaholic88 · 16/01/2016 11:16

I think that's negative miley but I may be wrong!

Mileymoocow · 16/01/2016 11:27

It got darker but my phone camera doesn't like to focus. I'm definitely due to ov on the 20th so maybe it's just building up

Chocaholic88 · 16/01/2016 11:45

Test again later today :)

Feefeefs · 16/01/2016 11:50

zazzles I'm reading "expecting better" on the advice of someone else in one of the threads on mumsnet can't remember if it's this one or not and the advice around alcohol and pregnancy and TTC is excellent and all backed up with evidence and statistics I'm really enjoying it.

Laurenowls · 16/01/2016 12:01

zazzles sorry just got up lol but i don't think it's implantation as i reckon i've ovulated around the 12th so think it's way too early for implantation?? It's ranged from (tmi coming up) v light pink to reddy colour and now it's a reddy brown and only happen a couple times a day... everywhere i've looked says that implantatiom bleeding is only a couple of spots not what 've had so begenning to stress Confused

IrregularCommentary · 16/01/2016 12:08

Thanks for posting that feef - dh is a maths teacher and already reading up on studies and advice so think he'll really go for that. Ordered it for kindle so we can both have a read.

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 16/01/2016 12:11

Thanks everyone for the reassurance. It's just become habit to drink towards the end of the week/weekends so it didn't even give it a second thought.

fee thanks I might order that book.

Confusedcat1 · 16/01/2016 12:39

Zazzles don't worry, you heard what my doctor said :) stressing will do far more damage than the wine if you are pregnant :) xxxxFlowers

Kathrino · 16/01/2016 12:58

Thanks from me too for the book recommendation fee, just downloaded it to my kindle and am curled up on the sofa reading it now.

Feefeefs · 16/01/2016 13:05

Your welcome kath zazzles irregular I've got in on my kindle too. Not finished it yet but it's very interesting and suits me because I always need to know why I'm being told to do things

Pugmummy87 · 16/01/2016 13:16

Choc I'm sorry your GP wasn't very helpful, did they not suggest another hcg blood test? Bloody cheeky of them to call the midwife 'just a midwife' too (I'm one myself so am slightly miffed lol). Your symptoms sound so positive for pregnancy, I am really surprised they haven't suggested another blood test to see if the levels are rising.

Anyway, marking my place on this thread. AF arrived fully during the night, Bitch woke me up at 2.30am with horrendous cramps, spent the rest of the night tossing and turning with a hot water bottle and necking pain killers. As much as I hate it, I am glad she has finally showed up. So onwards to a new cycle!

Stats Pug
TTC #1
Cycle #3
AF due from 17th Feb (if cycle goes back to 32 days ish)

Plan this month is to try and dtd every other day after af has finished, just got to try and get DH on board a bit more, I think he thinks once per week is sufficent lol. It's difficult as I have pcos too so ovulation can be hit and miss and opks don't really tell me much, I can get several positives in a cycle so I don't think they are particularly reliable for me anyway. Just going to carry on with temping.

Holly300 · 16/01/2016 13:31

Ok so as far as I understand l, this opk is negative - but does the faint test line mean anything, like lh surge is on its way? Or does the faint line just mean nothing? Do you find your test line gets gradually darker and darker in the run up to lh surge?

Ni4444 · 16/01/2016 13:43

Holly I'm still getting to grips with opks (first month using the Internet cheapies the whole month) but my understanding is that the faint line means yes you're heading in the right direction. Once it gets as dark or darker than the control then ovulation is imminent (although what I've read suggests that can mean the next day or up to 3 days later...depends on the body, and travel, stress, illness etc can still delay things even at the dark line stage nothing is every concrete when it comes to ttc and women's complex bodies! So...keep testing and keep practicing dtd!

Stark you're a Star 🌟 Thank you for the reassurance -Ovia sent me reeling with that FW change! Saw my acupuncturist this morning and she said to ignore it too..she's happy that all is settled in my body and it's ready for upduffing crossing fingers and toes

ElleSarcasmo · 16/01/2016 13:52

Fx for you Snow that sounds like it could be an implantation bleed?

Holly that was the darkest mine got this week, they then seemed to start getting fainter, I think it is possible to miss the peak as quite brief? So some people try to test a few times per day.

Ni interested to hear more about the acupuncture? Have you been going for long? How did you find her?

StarkyTheDirewolf · 16/01/2016 14:00

choc thats a positive opk if ever I saw one. Go for gold pal! Grin
miley 0 and holly those both look negative to me, but keep an eye on the lines getting darker. Both need to be equal darkness, however I have found with the one step tests the control line fan be quite pale, which is confusing! If the test line is as dark or darker than the control line then that's a positive and indicates an lh surge.

Dps are back this evening, thank goodness! 4 dogs is too much for me and I'm exhausted! It's like having 4 toddlers! Not helped by dh being deaf when he gets in from work and trying to have a conversation with me! I was clearly asleep! If I am asleep Dh, as much as I love you, I do not care that you are cold!

Holly300 · 16/01/2016 14:07

Thanks Ni And Elle! You've really helped put my mind at rest. Smile

I'm only in cycle 1 this time and already fed up of waiting to ovulate after 9 days of the clearblue dual opk saying that I'm in high fertility - which I've realised now means absolutely nothing - I'll just stick with the online cheapies I think!

I reckon I'll be nightmare during the 2ww - you have been warned Wink

Chocaholic88 · 16/01/2016 14:07

This is what I thought pug ... I think the midwife is going to see me if I haven't had a bleed by my booking appointment and do a blood test! But that wouldn't explain the super positve OPK this morning would it?! Arghhhhhhh

And yes.. the 'just a midwife' comment annoyed me too. GP are general practitioners and midwifes are specialised... but that's just my opinion...!!

Snowdog37 · 16/01/2016 14:09

It seems I'm blind at 5am. I rechecked my thermometer and my temp actually was 98.87 this morning not 97.78! So it keeps rising... No more spotting. No other symptoms. Dare I start getting excited at 9dpo?

Kathrino · 16/01/2016 14:15

Ooh snowdog, that does sound like a good sign. Keeping everything crossed for you!

Ni4444 · 16/01/2016 14:18

It's pricey Elle and it's one of those things where it's hard to be clear how helpful it is...unless I had an identical twin who also came off the pill in October and didn't have it so I could compare symptoms. I went for it as I've heard excellent reviews from friends (one who was told she couldn't get pregnant without ivf!), plus my cycles were really irregular back before I went on the pill 10 years ago, and the first month off the pill I had terrible hormone headaches and other symptoms so my system was clearly messed up! Since then no headaches, no severe symptoms (and I have food intolerances and they have improved a bit). I also have a fairly stressful job so I figured I'd treat myself for relaxation purposes. I like it, and I think it's helping...but I'm kind of glad that she's going on maternity leave so today was my last session so I can save money for a while!
It's supposed to be very effective for pregnancy side effects (morning sickness etc)
Have a look on the British Association website to find a good local person www.acupuncture.org.uk/component/quickfap

Ps acupuncture is provided on the NHS for some things like chronic back pain so it is legit...just not enough scientific evidence for fertility yet.

Hope that helps!

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 16/01/2016 14:21

Sounds good snow !

When will you be starting to test? On a frer of course

harrietm87 · 16/01/2016 14:24

Hi everyone!

feef thanks for the book recommendation! I've been looking for something useful to read. Going to get it on my kindle this afternoon.

I've been having weird cramps on my left side today. Did some googling and not only does that suggest I'm going to ovulate from my left ovary, but the location of your ovulation spots reflect that too!! Sure enough I have a spot on the left of my chin near the jawline. So weird!

I did an opk in case ovia was wrong about my fw starting on Monday and got a faint line. Going to try to dtd every day for the next week just in case...depending on OHs enthusiasm! He's usually really up for it except when stressed at work and this is a busy week for him.

choc I can't believe you still don't have an answer. But agree with everyone else - keep shagging! Without protection, obv.

Snowdog37 · 16/01/2016 14:28

I just did an ic (because I'm a psycho and keep a test and a little cup in a ziplock bag in my cavernous handbag). Stark white bfn at 9dpo. Will maybe splurge on a proper expensive test for tomorrow or Monday.
