Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a <strong>Kitten</strong> = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like <strong>Something</strong> = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A <strong>Lemon</strong> = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

Thanks 5hell I was trying to work out what on earth conkers had autocorrected from!
I want to see a picture of the womble conker now! Yes on its travels! Haha

LondonGirl83 · 09/11/2015 15:36

Congrats Ill

I've been away for ages as I've been travelling a bit and also not at all sure what's going on with my body!

If I ovulated when I thought I did based on positive OPK and pain, then AF was due a week ago!

Well no AF and no BFP so now I am just really confused... I'm just shagging and waiting to see what my body gets up to now...

Illiria · 09/11/2015 19:29

London - sorry the witch is messing you around. Shaging is the only thing I can advise. Do you normally have wonky cycles?

Turns out DH is super worried about this going wrong and though the digi test helped (thanks Kate) he is still not letting himself get too excited. Keeps asking what could give a false positive or what could go wrong.

He wants to tell his mom soon as he is worried she will cash in some of her pension accounts and offer to pay for ivf for us. I love her dearly but she does have a tendency to get it in her head to do something for people without asking if they need it - wouldn't be surprised if we turn up at Christmas and our present is that she has booked us into a clinic in the new year. Have put foot down and told him to lie and say we are doing a fourth round of iui to give us time to see if this is going anywhere.

YouBastardSockBalls · 09/11/2015 20:11

Congratulations Ill!! Flowers

I've been away for a bit. Got a referral to gynae to see what's going on with my AF, but still ttc, just very casually! Just iced I think, so we'll see what the next 2 weeks hold....

Gx for everyone else!

LondonGirl83 · 09/11/2015 20:16

I never have wonky cycles! Not even after coming of birth control. I'm so confused. I'm assuming its just my MC in October messing with my hormones...

pretzelpieces · 09/11/2015 20:32

Sorry LG Flowers a lot of people have strange cycles after mc so it probably is that.

MyBlackCat · 09/11/2015 20:37

london my cycles were a bit wonky for a few months after mc - it does invoke the crazies, I hope yours get to normal quickly x

KeepTheHope · 09/11/2015 20:44

Sorry your cycle is messed up London, I hope it sorts itself out soon Thanks

Ill it's understandable that he feels nervous, but today you are pregnant and that is an amazing thing. No one knows what the future will hold but this is a great step for you and we all have our gingers crossed that it's a good'un. Thanks for you too

justtheonethen · 09/11/2015 21:20

Sorry that your wtf cycle is living up to its name London Flowers

ill bless him, he needs a hooyah!

Thought I iced last weds but had each and twingy ovaries today so shagged just in case like a good js'er

f1ddlesticks · 09/11/2015 21:46

Hi everyone... Can I join?

Not sure I'll get the hang of the lingo for a bit, but the just shagging part makes sense! I'm a little late to the thread I know.

Should I share my stats?

Name: f1ddlesticks

justtheonethen · 09/11/2015 22:17

Welcome f1ddlesticks!

KeepTheHope · 09/11/2015 22:29

Hi f1ddlesticks, welcome!

corgi88 · 09/11/2015 23:46

welcome f1ddle! don't worry, I have been here a month and still don't know all the lingo... Smile
NFMV: 10 dpo (if iced when had that post-coital bleed on Halloween) and struggling not to steal all the pissy sticks in the hospital to test! hooyah needed here lovely viroids....
If I manage to restrain myself I will try and wait til Friday so I can see if I can have wine at the weekend when I will be 14dpo.....
still on nights. ANOTHER baby just born in carpark!

corgi88 · 10/11/2015 00:12

London could the travelling have made your cycle a bit wonky perhaps? Hope it sorts itself out sharpish. I hate it when the witch is late, gets my hopes up too much ony to be cruelly dashed by bfns!

coribeth · 10/11/2015 01:31

corgi you're like my nights buddy this week so I've decided to become your hooya buddy step away from the pissy sticks! Hmm I think it's nights that cause these crazies! Perhaps the hospital should invest in a delivery suite in the car park it seems to be doing a roaring trade this week! My night shift is decidedly quiet for a change only a slightly compromised airway to keep us on our toes and that sounds much more dramatic than it actually is! Confused

Illiria · 10/11/2015 02:02

f1ddlesticks - welcome

London - sorry to hear that, hoping cycles settle down for you.

corgi - what do they put in the water there, babies obviously prefer an open air birth?

corgi88 · 10/11/2015 02:24

hahah cori thanks for the hooya! so nice to have someone to chat to on nights and actually we have been so lucky with this set, really quite nice. touches wood superstitiously clearly because all the babies get born before they actually arrive! haha Ill I've no idea what's in the water up here!

just helped with a forceps though, grim.... my favourite moment of the birth is always watching the dad, they nearly always cry looking at their brand new baby and then at that point I have to go and busily look for some gloves because I have teared up too! gaaaah. This job is making me even broodier!

because it's calm I am now spending a fortune online shopping - need to stop looking on notonthehighstreet.....and do some portfolio instead.

coribeth · 10/11/2015 02:38

Haha I forgot my decaf tea and now have major caffeine buzz not good as I'm on break and trying to get my head down for an hour! Grin

SockQueen · 10/11/2015 03:00

I'm on nights too this week!

It's actually not too bad - only 5 patients in ICU, none of them particularly unstable. Done one epidural (the LW anaesthetist was busy in theatre) and a crash call, can't shake the feeling something bad is just lurking out there...

NFMV: very crampy today. All the signs point to icing last weds/thurs, but that doesn't fit with the scan. Might call the clinic tomorrow and ask when they think I should do prog test.

oneyorkshirepud · 10/11/2015 06:46

Corgi I am excited for your pissy party on Friday! Anyone else due to test this week?

ChatEnOeuf · 10/11/2015 07:23

Ooh Sock I hate that feeling. That sounds a lovely ICU...NICU never has that kind of night!

Corgi I admire your intentions if nothing else - I take off the 'max' on rightmove when on nights, and bitch about the decor search for my dream house Grin

Welcome F1ddle! Don't worry about the lingo, if you get it wrong we'll give you a hooyah and add it to the list Wink

London sorry the WTF is being a bit...WTF. My post MC cycles were always a week or so longer than usual.

Nice to see you still here YB :)

NFMV: witch on her way out, DH now working back at home. I think we will be shagging for fun for the next month or two.

OP posts:
angelazul · 10/11/2015 08:10

Welcome F1ddle, don't worry you'll soon pick up on the lingo.

London sorry the witch is messing you about Flowers

CD16 & had light pink spotting this morning - maybe ice bleeding??? Been feeling rotten last few days so no shagging since Friday, so probably out this month again Angry

Ditsy79 · 10/11/2015 12:43

Big congratulations Ill
Hi F1ddle
AF now over, so back to shagging like crazy. Am on CD12 so will hopefully ice soon. This is the 6th month we've been trying, I know that's not really a long time, but we're disappointed it hasn't happened yet. One of our best friends has just announced she's pg....with twins! Really happy for her, as I know they've been trying for ages, but felt a twinge of jealousy.
Am worried there's something wrong, as am now 36 - how long should I leave it before I go to the GP with concerns about not getting pg?

corgi88 · 10/11/2015 13:16

ditsy as a GP trainee I would happily refer people over 35 who have been trying for 6m. That's what the textbooks say anyway. Under 35s have to wait a year - so I've got another 6-7m, gaaaah. (Though I have had chemo before and I've got a bicornuate uterus, not sure if I would be being unreasonable to ask for earlier referral, but not sure they would do anything different about this given that my periods are regular.)
Just gotta keep shagging eh??!
Nfmv: chin spots + rubbish pre-witch cramps + post nights daze= displeased corgi. Off to take the real corgi to the beach though which should blow those cobwebs away! Smile

Peenut · 10/11/2015 13:50

That's interesting you say that Cori about over 35s ... I went to the doctors this week to tentatively say I was upduffed and said that I'd actually been planning on visiting the GP as we'd been off the pill for almost a year if not shagging properly until more recently. GP waved me off and said she'd only worry if somebody had been trying for two years with no luck! WHAT!?

I thought this seemed a bit casual and laid back and if there was an issue you might have wasted two years! I'd like to think it was because the doctor thought I was 25 not 35 and very fertile or something, wishful thinking
