Short Luteal Phase

So after 6 months of ttc I've worked out I've got a short luteal phase of 9 days, however it could be even less. I get a positive opk on day 19 and 9 days later AF appears. I'm fearing it could be less that 9 days if I ovulate 24-36 hours after a postive opk. No suprises that there hasn't been a bfp yet. I'm thinking this is my obstacle. Seems I've tried everything else. Do I go to my GP? Is there any point? On preconception vitamins with b6 in and have been in them for three months and no changes. Also AF is really painful every month, wondering if there is more to this. Any ideas? Or anyone experienced/ing similar?

Sunshine, im still getting more CM than usually would so think its just from the estrogen surge, hopefully your temps will go back up tomor.

Hi Mrsunsure, i can't imagine how you must be feeling after 2 years, I am already losing it after 10 months. Just thinking about your doctor saying you may not be ovulating, have you tried temping to confirm if you definitely are? x

8dpo here, wonder if my LP will surpass 9 days?! AF due any day now... No sign as of yet. Just thick cm still (which is a sign of progesterone apparently)!

Maybe give temping a try for a couple of months as although you are getting positive OPKs which indicate your body is gearing up to ovulate, it doesn't mean that you definitely do. It sounds like you have been messed around alot by various doctors who don't seem willing to help you, but would definitely try to get your husband to go for a sperm check as that could be where the problem lies. I'm giving myself until xmas and then I'm going to get myself and DH tested. x

I've been trying since the start of this year, my luteal phase is about 9/10 days so on the short side, but I also worry as my cycles are short at only 23 days on average. When are you due to get your results? x

Mrs unfortunately the only way you could do temping would be to set an alarm to take your temp at 4am every day. I only take my temp for 7 or 8 days a month, just enough to see the spike to confirm ov.

MrsUnsure sounds like you've had a tough time. Hopefully Inge start to get sorted soon and GP refers you for tests.

Sunshine yes hopefully it goes up. CF seems to have dried up which might be a sign my temp will go up.

Sanch still so happy for you! How many DPO were you when you got your BFP? Did you have any symptoms?

No idea!! Fertility friend didn't detect ov! I think there are two points on my chart that could be ov so today I'd either be 10 or 13 dpo. My 3 internet cheapies have got darker since last night. Going to do a digi in the morning then I might believe it! I tested as I felt sick all day yesterday and had lower back ache and when I was pregnant with DD I had an aversion to my favourite chocolate and last night the chocolate tasted odd! Felt fine today though.

I think I've spoken too soon, I feel like AF is on the horizon, just a tad achy, ever so slight brown tinge in CM now, most probably wouldn't notice though. It would be spot on the date of AF would have turned up before the mc at 9dpo, not just a coincidence I think...

My temp went up again but only just to the cover line. My post O temps are usually higher. Can't help but think I'm out this cycle and next month DH is abroad for work the week I ovulate. Booo.

Thanks all! Did a digi this morning and got Pregnant 1-2 so now I can believe it. I'm quite an anxious pregnant person though, always doubting, so I'm not dancing on the ceiling yet! We're on holiday next week so I'm going to make a GP appointment for when I get back. Oh, and I have a half marathon to run next weekend! lol

Mascara, sorry that AF seems on its way, but at least if it is you can get started on your treatment. I'm sure you'll have a BFP before Christmas x

How's everyone else doing today? 6DPO here. Wet creamy CF this morning with temp 0.02C above coverline.

I know it's super early for any symptoms so not sure why but I've had three lunches today on top of breakfast this morning (shredded wheat with hot milk). Courgetti and avocado, then was still hungry so had a cheese and spinach omelette and then still hungry so have just had beans and cheese on toast! I start work soon and worried I'll be hungry again haha. How random. Although I seem to get some odd symptom or another every month so not thinking its a pending BFP just random.

Well you never know sunshine its a good excuse to eat lots anyway, just in case.

I know what you mean about symptom spotting, I've had a really strong sense of smell since yesterday which I've not had before, I'm getting annoyed with myself as I know its far too early and just don't have a good feeling about this month anymore. I've been thinking about it all day and got myself into a really grumpy mood, need to pull myself together before DH gets home x

No AF, strange I was certain it was coming as I had light tummy pain. Still creamy CM, if it doesn't come tonight then I've made it past 9dpo!

Got my letter from the private consulatation that they've sent to my gp. Bloods to do are prolactin, amh, vitamin and calcium levels, fsh and LH so if you ever want to know what to test for! Between cd2-7.

Sunshine smell was my first symptom, I have a terrible sense of smell.

I don't feel like AF is coming and I don't feel pregnant. Not sure when I'd test.

Oh wow, a BFP!! This thread seems to be lucky at the moment. How many dpo are you? I think it is quite commen to get a bit of brown discharge at the start, so fingers crossed this is your lucky month congrats x

Mascara, how many dpo were you when you got your BFP before? If no AF tomorrow I would be very tempted to test x

I was 14dpo. I've got some cheapies so I might test tomorrow. Not getting my hopes up though!
