Short Luteal Phase

So after 6 months of ttc I've worked out I've got a short luteal phase of 9 days, however it could be even less. I get a positive opk on day 19 and 9 days later AF appears. I'm fearing it could be less that 9 days if I ovulate 24-36 hours after a postive opk. No suprises that there hasn't been a bfp yet. I'm thinking this is my obstacle. Seems I've tried everything else. Do I go to my GP? Is there any point? On preconception vitamins with b6 in and have been in them for three months and no changes. Also AF is really painful every month, wondering if there is more to this. Any ideas? Or anyone experienced/ing similar?

Shary, Have you got another peak today? Maybe ovulation hasn't taken place yet as I know that it was a very obvious rise the morning after i had ovulated x

Sunshine, had a peak on the CBAFM again this morning. The line on the opk is still prominent but not as dark as yesterday. Hopefully I'll see that temperature rise tomorrow morning Either way my bloods are next Thursday so that should give me some indication although they now might be 6dpo rather than 7!

I'm pretty sure i'm out now, been having more cramps and a bit of light pink blood in knickers (sorry i know its tmi) I'd really got my hopes up that this could be my month but I probably do that every month My close friend who recently had a miscarriage was trying to convince me to start ttc soon so we could have babies at the same time, if only it was that simple.

I'm going to spend my Friday night doing housework to keep myself distracted and hopefully away from Google.

Unless I get a temp rise tomorrow I don't think I've ovulated this cycle. I started getting the peaks on Wednesday morning so really I should have ovulated Weds/Thurs and should have seen the temp rise this morning I think. I suppose a positive is that it's more evidence for the GP...

If you are still getting peak this morning then I think theres still a good chance you'll get your temp rise, as you may only have ovulated today so you would get the rise tomorrow.

I'm not due AF until next monday but the bleedings more normal now for AF so I'm definitely out, so this cycle my LP was only 8 days. Its never been that short so i'm thinking I probably messed myself up with the B vits. When we first started ttc it was 11 days, I wish I had just been content with that as now my cycles are getting less predictable, maybe I'm getting too stressed with it all. Every month AF arrives it seems to hit me harder though I'm sure thats the same for all of us.

On the plus side we are going on hols for a couple of weeks next weekend, so I'm going to stop the obsessing, temping, OPKs, and just try to relax and have fun and pray that taking that approach will give me my BFP when I get home xx

Just got home and more spotting, this time with a pink more bloody tinge. I'm really trying to stay positive but it's not looking great. No real cramping though. I don't know what to do now with it being bank hol. Ideally I could do with a scan to see if everything's ok.

Sounds good Shary. I think you will get a slight rise tomorrow.

Mascara, could you go to your local A&E? Surely they won't make you wait until Tuesday to find out whats happening xxxx

I've thought about it. Might try ring the helpline and see what they advise.

Got an out of hours doctor tonight. Not sure what a doctor will be able to do tonight though! Thanks xx

They might be able to refer you for an emergency scan at A&E, keeping everything crossed for you x

Are you going to come off the Vit B Sunshine? Are you going abroad for your holiday? Vit D is supposed to aid conception so a bit of sunshine & relaxation might do the trick :)

Sunshine I think you should just go back to basics and take folic. A holiday sounds ideal too.

Shary, your temps sound pretty consistent so hopefully get that rise tomorrow, you'll definitely notice it as significant, I was surprised at how much x

Not good news I'm afraid. Scan booked for Wednesday to check things over.

Woke up needing the loo at 5.30am so did my bbt then. Its gone up from 36.2 to 36.3 which isn't very impressive Did some reading around it this morning though & apparently it can take some women several days (3 days seemed to be banded about a lot) before they see a significant rise so fx for tomorrow. The frustrating thing is I went to the loo & had a few sips of water. Fell back asleep until 7am & tested again "just out of interest" & it was 36.7! I know this doesn't count though

Shary, that is good to know, I wasn't aware it could take a few days to rise so hopefully it'll happen very soon. I know what you mean about re-taking your temp just out of curiosity, sometimes I've even taken mine in the evening before bed just to see i've even taken DHs, luckily he already knows i've totally lost it

I've ordered some pregnacare his and hers, does anyone else take these? x

I take pregnacare with my husband we both take the conception ones. They're also what my doctor recommended.

Good thanks, this cycle have been taking EPO and started taking robitussin yesterday afternoon upon noticing creamy CM. this morning I woke up and was soaking down there with watery fluid - no egg white yet and only CD12 when I normally ovulate around CD20/21 so not sure if this could be the EPO. We've just DTD using conceive plus too.

I've also been drinking and eating grapefruit every day! Got a faint line on cheap opk test strip yesterday.

Booked in for my smear and vaginal ultrasound in September to see if they can work out why I get such painful periods.
