Hello Mumsnet! This is my first post. I'm 28 and new to ttc. On cycle #2 cd12. Very few of my friends have kids or are interested in having them so I'm in need of some support!

I'd love to hear from others in a similar position and find some cycle buddies!

Anon - my goodness it's puts it all in perspective. I'm thinking of you, make sure you look after yourself x x

Sizzle81 · 28/07/2015 18:59

An0n - I'm so so sorry.
As Pallas said, a new thread is a great idea but don't you dare worry about being a downer on this one! We are all on here to share our ups and downs.
Thinking of you xxx

Alpha100 · 28/07/2015 22:10

Anon- I'm so sorry to hear this. Wishing you lots of strength through this challenge. Xx

an0nan0nan0n · 29/07/2015 11:48

Ladies, thank you all so much for your kind words - it really means a lot :)

I may not me the most active participant for a while, but I'll still be with you.

I have surgery on Wednesday to remove cancerous part of tumor, after which time they will be able to identify if chemo is needed for other 'abnormalities' found in lymph nodes and lungs.

One I have my head around that I think I will create my thread. Its good to keep the long term goal of TTC in mind, but on the other hand there is so much to take in, we don't have all the answers yet and I need to take one step at a time.

xxx

Alpha100 · 29/07/2015 16:59

Your time for TTC and a BFP will come Anon but for now stay strong and concentrate on your health.

We will keep you up to date with our TTC efforts; I'm sure there will be some stories to make you giggle! x

IrisPurple · 29/07/2015 21:22

I've just caught up - An0n I am so sorry to hear your news. Best of luck with your surgery on Wednesday.

There is a thread on here somewhere about chemo and TTC. I wish you luck in your journey. Take care of yourself. Hopefully see you on here soon when you're feeling better FlowersFlowers

DelphiniumStar · 31/07/2015 02:10

an0n I'm so sorry but glad you are getting treatment so quickly. Focus on your health and getting better. My thoughts are with you and I hope you have good people around you that you can lean on. X

Anyone had any ttc success so far?

Alpha100 · 02/08/2015 23:49

I'm out of the running this month as oh was away during ovulation. Keeping my Fx for everyone else on here xx

GarthyCoed · 03/08/2015 00:05

Hi everyone, is it still ok to join? I'm 27 and came off the pill (regivadon) two months ago so this is our third month (cycle?) of ttc.

I have PCOS but had a mc in October last year, having conceived while on the pill - figure that out!!! - but I have been to my GP and told him we are ttc and he has ordered blood tests to be done on days 1 and 21 to check that I am ovulating. If I am, then DP has to do a sperm test and if I'm not then we go further down that road I guess... he did say, though, that it looks as though I don't have primary infertility considering the mc last year.

We had sex Saturday morning and Friday evening and I had EWCM on Friday, which is good right? That would have been day 15 of this months cycle, but I don't really know what that means... I'm tryng hard not to think too much about it for the first few months because I know that the longer it takes to get pregnant the more stressed out about it I will be and I want to avoid that!

Sizzle81 · 03/08/2015 08:05

I'm in my fertile week but having a hard time convincing OH that we should be dtd!
How are you Delphinium? Has temping become any clearer? I've just started with temps.
Sorry you're out Alpha. Fx for next month.
Garthy- EWCM is great! Fx for you xx

PallasCat · 03/08/2015 10:48

Welcome Garthy! Well if you can conceive while on the pill it sounds like you have excellent fertility! Very sorry to hear it was mc though. Flowers Definitely a good plan trying to stay chilled about TTC for now.

Sorry to hear it Alpha - how annoying. And Sizzle Shock

CD17 here so heading into 2ww (this is based on not very regular cycles, tho). Had a pretty busy Wink fertile week - DTD at least EOD. Was working on the basis that I would OV on CD10, as I did in last two cycles, and think I had cramping then, but then again on CD14, which would be more in line with how my cycles used to be.

I guess this means if AF doesn't appear after CD25 I'll have to give it another few days before I can start wondering if I'm late!

Anyway, I've decided to do a FRER on Friday morning as we have a big weekend coming up.

How's everyone else?

Monkey1987 · 03/08/2015 15:50

Hi all, hope it's ok to join in still!
DH and I are both 28 and TTC for the first time. On CD11 and according to my app it's the start of my fertile week (although DH is feeling under the weather Sad).
This is my first cycle TTC so feeling quite excited/nervous! Not told any of my friends as didn't want the pressure (would also be the first of my friends!). so far only my brother knows but DH is desperate to tell others but I'm not sure I want everyone knowing yet!

Alpha100 · 03/08/2015 19:53

Hi new people [waves].

Monkey I haven't told anyone yet either as I think it would make me feel under pressure. I will probably tell my mam next time i get some time alone with her (we don't live close). My closest friends will realise pretty soon as I have been avoiding alcohol Wine

PallasCat · 03/08/2015 21:53

Welcome Monkey!

Yup like Alpha, we're keeping it to ourselves. I don't see a reason to tell people. Not that I'm keeping it a secret - if conversation turned to TTC around family/close friends I wouldn't lie and say we weren't (probably mostly because I have a real thing about jinxing things!).

Sizzle81 · 04/08/2015 19:51

Good luck tomorrow An0n. Wishing you the best!! xx

DelphiniumStar · 04/08/2015 23:44

Welcome monkey, garthy

sizzle it sounds like time to introduce some sizzle into dtd. Can you mix it up in the bedroom (or elsewhere??!)

pallas that sounds promising!

I'm still waiting for cycle to settle down after stopping the pill. Cycle 1 was 41 and cycle 2 was 47 days. Now on cd21 and no sign of ovulation yet. Will just keep dtd every other day and try not to worry too much. Hoping for shorter cycle (or bfp!) this month. I'm trying opk but no positive yet. Also am temp charting but finding it unreliable. You need to take temp is same conditions every day and that's hard if you have a variable schedule.

I've told one friend (my only mother friend) that I'm ttc and keeping it quiet with my other friends who are all powerful career driven feminists, as am I, but I worry they may not be super supportive!!! If i get bfp, I'll be the first of my close friends. Scary!

OP posts:
Sizzle81 · 05/08/2015 19:55

Yes Delphinium, I absolutely need to step up my game!! Lol
I'm also finding temping a bit all over the place.
Fx for you x

GarthyCoed · 05/08/2015 20:13

Hello everybody again... I have a quick question...

How does everybody cope with the waiting? ATM DP works away during the week so we can only DTD at the weekend. I also have spent a small fortune on home test kit things :(

DelphiniumStar · 06/08/2015 09:27

I don't cope very well with waiting! I try to focus on my health and eat well and do exercise. Then at least I feel like I'm doing something...

OP posts:
SharyBobbins · 06/08/2015 10:47

Erm...I don't cope well with awaiting! I google too much and then end up spending money on pee-sticks, monitors, vitamins (his and hers), 'sperm friendly' lube (Shock still shocked I've done that..going red as I type!!), books.... Today's google topic is temping! So I'll probably end up buying a thermometer tonight!

SharyBobbins · 06/08/2015 10:47

Waiting, not awaiting lol...

DelphiniumStar · 06/08/2015 10:54

This is a positive ovulation test right??
