Hello Mumsnet! This is my first post. I'm 28 and new to ttc. On cycle #2 cd12. Very few of my friends have kids or are interested in having them so I'm in need of some support!

I'd love to hear from others in a similar position and find some cycle buddies!

Thanks an0n, cycle 1 was 40 days so I hope this one is shorter!! Anyone got plans for the nice weather this week? I'm going on a cycle ride after work tomorrow

DelphiniumStar Well I'd usually be at work right now but instead I'm off sick with diarrhea. :( Enjoy your cycle! :)

PallasCat · 30/06/2015 20:32

Not a good start to cycle 2 Sad DH has a major health scare. He has been to the dr and we are waiting for him to get referred, which should be very soon. Hopefully it is a false alarm and nothing serious - I'm really struggling with waiting to know. TTC can't be our focus now, but in a weird way it makes it seem more urgent for me. Sad
Sorry - completely me-focussed, but I don't have anyone to talk to about this except him and I don't want to worry him about how I feel at this time.

Sizzle81 · 30/06/2015 21:26

Pallas, so sorry to hear this and I completely understand how you feel. I only had to wait 4 days for answers while my OH was in hospital and that felt like forever so I really hope you get some answers quickly xx

an0nan0nan0n · 01/07/2015 00:59

PallasCat Sorry to hear this :( Hope it all turns out to be fine xx

PallasCat · 01/07/2015 17:55

Thank you sizzle and anon xxx

MrsH14 · 01/07/2015 22:47

Hi all, hope you dont mind me joining. I'm 27 and dh is 32. We are ttc for number 1 and we are now on month 10.
My mum and sister know but dh's family have not been told as it will be there first grandchild so we want to keep it a surprise. I've recently had a blood test for ovulation which came back ok and have an ultrasound appointment next Thursday. Trying to stay positive.
We have a choccy Labrador who is 3 and is always making me smile x

daisylassy · 01/07/2015 23:11

Awww Pallascat my goodness I hope your ok... It's must be so hard. I hope he is seen very soon so you can get some answers x take care x

PallasCat · 02/07/2015 18:07

Welcome MrsH!

Thanks Daisy.

We have had our referral: Mr Cat will have a scan next week, and a follow up appt with results, hopefully, Tuesday of the week after.

He says he doesn't want to TTC this month until we know what we're dealing with. I know this is coming from his concern and love for me, and possible LO - so totally respect his decision on this. At least my head and heart do. Uterus is shouting rebelliously that TTC is now urgent and should be priority.

Anyway, looks like we're out of the game for this cycle. Sad

SinIckAll · 02/07/2015 18:12

fingers crossed everything turns out OK for you and your OH Pallas. I know how hard waiting around can be when all you want to do is get going with TTC. try to have some positive things booked in to look forward to in the next month, this will help the time to go faster x

PallasCat · 02/07/2015 18:39

Yes indeed! We have, and are planning to add some more in the form of our long-overdue honeymoon! Smile Thanks SinIck.

DelphiniumStar · 03/07/2015 08:31

Any BFPs? Is everyone on next cycle? I'm still stuck now on CD36 and nothing. Arg.

pallas take some time, rest and rejuvenate. A month delay is nothing but I understand your impatience.

Sizzle81 · 03/07/2015 09:03

Glad you got your referral through quickly Pallas.
Are you feeling any symptoms Delphinium?
I'm now on cycle 3 cd9. My glow app says most fertile day is Wed. I started OPKs yesterday so will see what they say.

Londonlady84 · 03/07/2015 13:39

I'm on CD32 and due AF on Sunday. I've had on and off cramping since CD21 which is unusual for me. Normally have really sore bbs for a week before AF but they seem fine so far.
I've been obsessively symptom spotting and got BFNs on what I think were 9 and 10dpo. So tempted to test again tomorrow morning, but my head tells me to just wait until Sunday when AF is due as I'm not sure how I'll cope doing this every month!

daisylassy · 03/07/2015 18:13

I hope u get some answers soon star hopefully a bfp!!!! I'm on cycle number three of ttc... CD 8, I've decided that this month I'm chilling out about it all and not doing any opk's and I don't know how but I'm going to try and not symptom spot I drove myself mad the last three cycles and then got very grump and upset when af arrived. Does anyone else do this ?? Some good friends just announced there bfp it's a strange feeling coz although I'm so happy for them I couldn't help but fee beyond jealous!! Then I felt bad for feeling like that ... Our time will come I suppose x

an0nan0nan0n · 04/07/2015 08:29

Here is where I am at today:
Day 28 of 29 day cycle. Feel very much like someone who is about to get their period.
Went to the GP yesterday to tell her we're TTC. A few things came up that I should have expected but forgot about:

  1. No blue/soft cheese! I forgot about this rule! I've been happily tucking into a wedge of bree every weekend with a girlfriend forever! I wasn't planning to tell her I'm TTC but will have to come up with an excuse to start skipping the cheese! It amazing how fast going from not telling someone something starts to look like an elaborate web of lies!
  2. Blood tests - I need to have some. I nearly cried.. why? Because I am a wimp of the highest order! I dodge needles whenever I can, and carry on pathetically when I can't dodge them (which is most of the time).
  3. Smear test! For me this is more scary than the needles, and that is saying something. I had one when I was 20 so I'm ridiculously overdue for another.
  4. Why is someone as scared as little things like blood tests and smear tests TTC?
I feel like an idiot, very ashamed of my feelings towards the above, and a bit lonely, very grateful for mumsnet as my only outlet for all this! So sorry for unloading on you all like this! I should be more grateful of my situation! Sending love to you all! xx

Hi ladies!

I'm 34, TTC month 2, cd6.

How on earth do you guys manage to keep it a secret? We've just got married so numerous friends and colleagues have been asking if we're trying for a baby. I can't really lie although I don't want to tell people in case nothing happens.

Daisylassy I feel your pain! I've stopped drinking 'just in case' so it's even harder to hide. At a family party in my husband's side I had his uncle ask outright if I was pregnant when I got the Schloer out!

Has anyone else stopped drinking whilst TTC?

It's great to have the support of my mum and best friend who's already had a child whilst I go through TTC.

I won't tell anyone (except my husband and mum) if and when I get BFP. I have already told people that I will not be telling!

One of my friends was a dental nurse and had to tell her team as other colleagues had to pick up some of her jobs.

daisylassy · 04/07/2015 10:28

Be brave anon and have your smear!! I'm the same I hate them so much it takes me days to psyc myself up to even go ... I had one before we started ttc not had blood tests tho?! Oops I had soft cheese last night week that will be hard I love cheese ... You can do it or be brave!! ????????

Sizzle81 · 04/07/2015 16:12

Bless your heart anon!! I also had one just before ttc.

Sizzle81 · 04/07/2015 16:19

Oops! Button pressed before I had finished. My Dr is aware I'm ttc but didn't suggest having blood tests!! ? Confused
Welcome IrisPurple.
I'm quite lucky - I rarely drink so it's never been an issue at parties etc. Although I did buy some fruity ciders for tonight (was hoping for a little tipsy sexy time) to take the pressure off a bit! xx

daisylassy · 04/07/2015 19:29

Snap sizzle fruity cider is on the go here to ... Mission chill out about ttc x

Sizzle81 · 04/07/2015 19:33

Smile Enjoy Daisy xx

DelphiniumStar · 05/07/2015 00:08

Hi,

I'm 31 and ttc #1. We tried briefly earlier in the year but had to put things on hold as my as we didn't know what the future held in terms of employment/relocation. It was the right decision and we are now ready to roll!

In response to general discussions on here; we haven't told anyone we are trying although I think both sets of parents probably have a good idea, I have stayed away from alcohol other than when AF arrives and I haven't used ovulation stick things yet but I do have them ready for next month (fingers crossed I won't need them).

I'm off to do the manchester color run today. Hope you ladies have a lovely Sunday.

Xxx

daisylassy · 05/07/2015 16:26

Hi alpha and iris,
How frustrating dstar! Are u testing bfn? ...
I'm still on track for chilling out about it all ... Held of using the opk's... Even though they were staring at me from the bathroom cabinet. Instead I've kept myself busy had a weekend at home doing some pottery and today shifting sandstone... How about everyone else??
Weddings are the worst for the questions about family. It's such a private thing yet folks seem to think it's socially appropriate to ask! Drives me nuts Confused
