Hi ladies,

Just joined up & wanted to say hi & to see if anyone else in a similar boat to me?

I'm 29 and this is my first cycle off the pill. Currently on day 29th & so far not much is happening. I've been tracking my temp, so far no rise for ovulation. I have been treated for PCOS a few years ago but can't ever remember a normal cycle. I managed to get pregnant but sadly ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks. Went back on the pill not long after. Feeling nervous that my cycles could still be linked to PCOS or is this just down to the pill?

What have other peoples cycles been like when stopped the pill?

Xxx

Hi ladies,

Wow, can't believe how many posts are on here now, glad I started this off Wink

How is everyone? Been away for a bit, crazy busy with my birthday celebrations...now in the dirty thirties Shock

Currently on day 32 & I think AF is on her way & can't help but feel a little sad. We have been at it like rabbits for the few weekends & I got a few positive opks so feel sad it hasn't happened this cycle. I was tracking my temp but was using a wrong thermometer so don't know if I ever for a rise after ovulation, got a new thermometer now so hopefully next cycle. I just want it to happen!!!

Where is everyone else in their cycles? Xx

I'm now 17 days from my last pill. I think I ovulated sometime last week. I got a positive opk on Thursday but I wasn't 100% sure it was positive and I had had ewcm since Tuesday. Don't really know how many days PO I am or if I even ovulated at all but for now I'll go with Friday was O day and I'm 1dpo but I'm really not sure! Time will tell! Good luck hannah, I hope AF doesn't show x

TriJo · 28/06/2015 01:58

HannahFlo - CD43 now, no sign of AF and 3 BFNs. Down with this sort of thing! No honeymoon baby for us anyway.

Belle888 · 28/06/2015 16:55

Hi all. Sorry for not posting but not much to report from me other than getting increasingly frustrated and starting to sound like a crazy lady! So I'm on CD38 and no sign of AF following 1 BFN last Friday when AF was 7 days late (based on assuming a normal 28 day cycle). Like Jo we have been on holiday for 2 weeks DTD morning noon and night so feeling a bit crapy! Just feel in limbo until AF. I'm not bothered about not getting a BFP really didn't think or expect it to happen cycle 1 but I'm just eager to get onto cycle 2. I was also planning on using some OPKs next month but not sure how I will get on if I don't have a clue how long my cycle will be?! Sorry for rabbiting on. Hannah has AF turned up for you? If she has think positive at least you can look forward to next cycle! Xx

novinophobia · 29/06/2015 11:24

Hi everyone, sounds as though we're all a bit stuck in limbo! I am CD32, had my only positive OPK on CD21, dtd a few times around then but just waiting now to see what happens

AF is due in a couple of days, although with PCOS who knows whether she will be on time. If she doesn't show by the end of the week I think I will do a pg test :-) not expecting it to be positive, but I'm always hopeful!

Belle - I ended up doing OPK for ages this cycle as I had no real idea how long my cycle would be. I took a guess at 35 days and the test was positive on Cd21, which guess would be about right. I would start them perhaps around day 12/14 and keep going until you get a positive!

allyd84 · 29/06/2015 15:06

Hi all, back from birthday weekend and no AF so drank lots off champers! Very spotty face not sure if sign AF on its way or just from boozing and not used to it. CD51 now :( Anyone gone private for tests? GP won't see me again for a few months as says its normal but 31 now and dont want to wait to long In case something's wrong :( been taking Agnus cactus, evening primrose and pregnacare conception vitamins for 5 days no change- keeping fingers crossed!

chillthefXXkout · 29/06/2015 15:12

allyd84 I am the same age as you and my cycle has just been 54 days, I went to the GP who said they won't run any tests for TWO YEARS for couples trying to conceive. So, I would also be interested in anyone's experiences of going private for tests...

I am hoping that my really long, irregular cycles are because I am only 3 months off the pill....fingers crossed it will settle!

allyd84 · 29/06/2015 17:36

My gap said 6 months before they will see me , don't want to freak oh out as supposed to be chilling the first year but it's hard when your
Bodyi is misbehaving x :(

Margo5 · 29/06/2015 23:42

Hope that allusive AF turns up for everyone soon, or not if it results in a BFP!! Thinking positive for everyone...

Now 21 days since I took my last Pill... Not been on here for a bit as not much to tell. But... Today I have REALLY achy boobs (especially when jumping around At the gym earlier!) and my CM is stretchy, sticky and quite clear... Blush (Tmi) Think I may be ovulating, think these may be signs?? Never really thought about this before TTC. Agreed with DH that we wouldn't be properly trying until July but may grab him tonight just in case...! May be a little prematurely optimistic but this makes me feel happy that my body hasn't forgotten how it all works after being on the Pill for so long. (If these are signs of ovulation that is...!)

novinophobia · 30/06/2015 19:05

Margo sounds like a good time to get shagging!

chill i think long irregular cycles after coming off the pill are quite common, although I understand your frustrations at things not getting back to normal more quickly. When you don't know where you are in your cycle in can feel quite disheartening :-( this happened to me, and things did get more regular with time

I think 2 years is too long to wait for tests once you're in your 30's, especially if you have previously been on the pill only (not depo). The only problem with doing bloods before cycles are vaguely regular is that the results might not mean very much if they come back unfavourable - might have just tested at the wrong time

I am CD33 today, small amount of brown spotting, no period pains or anything. Probably is just AF arriving, but I'm hoping it might be implantation bleeding! Trying not to get my hopes up too much though....

HannahFlo · 01/07/2015 18:21

Hi ladies,

So cd36 and no sign of AF and I'm so tempted to do a pregnant test....shall I??

HannahFlo · 01/07/2015 22:17

Had a little tear not going to lie, guess I will have to wait for AF and to try again for next month!! ConfusedConfused

Ah lovely try not to be sad.
It is really hard even if you brace yourself. Besides. It might be a little too early. See what the next week brings and in the meantime have a cuddle with the Mr. flowers] xxx

ktkaye · 01/07/2015 22:26

Sorry, Flowers. Not Mr flowers (who's he?!)

HannahFlo · 02/07/2015 06:52

Fingers crossed it's too early.

I did look at the pregnancy test this morning & there was a very faint line there...?? Would that not be accurate as I did the test last night & it's just dried like that?? Am I looking into it with too much thought? Xx

Hi Hannah, Dotty and all the rest!

Looking at posts on here it seems that everyone is different, and it's all very unpredictable!

I had my first AF 28 days after day 1 of my last withdrawal bleed (is that when you start counting?) so I guess I'm pretty lucky. It made me quite ill (diarrhoea, sweating, nearly fainted). I've never been like this, so be prepared for the first one to be a lot worse. It has been very light - my natural AF were always light, but longer than 28d apart.

It's hard not to feel bad on your first BFN / AF, especially as my mum conceived with me (only child) the very first time. Then again, she never took the pill. I hadn't realised it takes so long to get back to normal.

Still, we can console ourselves with Wine now we know we're not pg, and I have been very glad to have been able to take hayfever tablets!

Anyway, I wish you all the best of luck TTC! Flowers x

Belle888 · 02/07/2015 11:15

Hi kt and Hannah! Sorry I this thread wasn't on my 'I'm on' section so I assumed nothing had been going on here and then find I've missed all this!
Hannah my initial thought when I saw your message saying you had a BFN was that it was night and I think in the early stages you are advised to do it in the morning when the hormone is likely to be stronger! So if you had a faint line in the morning I would go and get one of those digital ones and do it tomorrow morning!
Ktkaye any updates with you?
I'm CD41 today - nothing since my withdrawal bleed. Think I'm going to do another test tomorrow morning just to be sure before a night out that eve. Xx

TriJo · 02/07/2015 11:28

Hannah more likely to be an evaporation line if you checked it after several hours, but definitely worth retesting!

CD47 now, had a withdrawal bleed almost straight away in April after I stopped, then a relatively short period after a 33 day cycle in May. Feels like my body is absolutely taking the piss with this one.

HannahFlo · 02/07/2015 13:51

I did some research & I found out that I should test in the morning...totally clueless! Went and brought a few cheap tests (was advised last time by the midwife that the cheap ones are just as good if not better than the more expensive ones) plus I brought a digital one. I'm so so nervous to test again and see 'not pregnant' so might leave it a few more days.

Hope AF arrives for you ladies who are waiting. Bloody hate the waiting game!! ConfusedConfusedConfused

Trijo.... If I don't get a BFP this time round it sounds like our cycles will be very similar. I too stopped the pill in April, had a withdrawal bleed 2 days later then a proper period after 34 days. Currently on cd37 and I can't help but feel there's no BFP but my cycle is just a loooong one. Did you any postive opks and if so what days?

Xxx

OP posts:
TriJo · 02/07/2015 14:46

Didn't do any OPKs at all - maybe next cycle, whenever the feck that is! Was away for 3 weeks getting married and honeymooning early on in this cycle so it wouldn't have been practical.

novinophobia · 02/07/2015 20:00

Hannah.... Are you going to test tomorrow? I am now CD35, so tempted to test tomorrow or Saturday if AF doesn't show! Had a bit of cramping earlier today though, so I wouldn't be surprised if AF does actually turn up in the next few days :-(

ktkaye · 02/07/2015 21:28

Hi ladies! How are you? No news here sadly. We have stopped TTC until my body goes back to normal - I was finding it too upsetting to keep wondering and getting negative tests. Not a huge fan of condoms though, bluergh!! How about you guys? Hannahflo that does sound like an evap line. Maybe test again first thing on Saturday morning with your first wee of the day? That way if it is negative you can just relax at home and feel how you want to feel. Ditto if you are pg!! Xx
