Hi ladies,

Just joined up & wanted to say hi & to see if anyone else in a similar boat to me?

I'm 29 and this is my first cycle off the pill. Currently on day 29th & so far not much is happening. I've been tracking my temp, so far no rise for ovulation. I have been treated for PCOS a few years ago but can't ever remember a normal cycle. I managed to get pregnant but sadly ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks. Went back on the pill not long after. Feeling nervous that my cycles could still be linked to PCOS or is this just down to the pill?

What have other peoples cycles been like when stopped the pill?

Xxx

Grargh, CD34 and not even the slightest sign of AF, which is making it look more and more likely that we're getting the crimson tide for my birthday. Le whinge. Going to test again on Monday if we still have nothing.

Hello everyone! I'm so glad I'm not the only who has already started going mad right at the beginning of trying! I came off the pill 9th May and had a bleed 23rd May for 5 days which was like a normal period. Then I have just recently had very light brown/red spotting from last Friday until yesterday. Is it too soon to take a pregnancy test? I'm clueless! I've had sore nipples with the spotting but that has stopped really but still have a bit of cramping feeling. I took a test this morning because I have the patience of a flea and it was negative. Should I wait another week or so to test? Thanks to anyone who can help! x

Thanks everyone ! Birthday Monday so going to let me hair down tonight and have a few (too many) drinks without worrying (stressing!) and try not to think about it until next week. Figure if no AF no reason not to have some fun Wine !

Started AC & evening primrose today so will let you now if anything changes - Happy Fridays !

allyd84 · 19/06/2015 15:31

Mrs Green you are definately not the only one going mad! Also i have brought a load of one step preggers tests as normal ones are so expensive and keep checking as GP said could still be ovulating so hard to know it preggers or just coming off pill hormones symtoms! Defo not to early to test as you could have ov 1 st week of june onwards id take a test again in a week if i were you (although im a bit test happy, opk and preggers), sometimes you can get slight spotting on implantation (so i have heard) good luck and keep us posted but dont worry if not- early days x

Hmm, so I started taking a 5-day course of Soy Isoflavones, supposedly 'nature's Clomid' (supposed to work in a similar manner - blocks oestrogen to trick the brain into producing more FSH to stimulate ovulation l). -I'm on day 3 (CD 5) and taking a slightly higher dose than on the prev two days. I'm naturally a cynical so and so and don't really expect anything from the gazillion natural remedies I'm taking that supposedly help pcos, but today Clomid -like side effects kicked in with a vengeance! Had headaches the last 2 days and today headache, nausea and hot flashes. Don't know if this will mean it's doing anything at all to help me lay an egg but right now it feels like its doing something - even if that's just making me feel grotty haha

Thanks for that Allyd84! I think I'll see if I get my period by next weekend and if not take another test. I've got to say I didn't quite comprehend how much of a delicate balancing act it is trying to conceive. Makes me wonder how on earth people just accidentally get pregnant but missing one or two pills! Anyway, thanks for the advice! Have a good birthday weekend!

bananafish81 · 19/06/2015 17:38

Argh so sorry for multiple posts! Was on the train and it kept saying it hadn't posted. Obviously it had! Xx

Rose58 · 19/06/2015 19:26

Typical AF wants to arrive for your birthday - relax and enjoy the wine!! And the hangover Blush

Anyone experiencing spotting around mid cycle? I'm wondering if it's ovulation spotting.

Rose58 · 21/06/2015 23:41

How have you all enjoyed your weekend? Confused over here tonight.... Had some spotting after sex on CD 14. I had a Smiley face on CB OPK CD 14/15. We DTD CD 7, 10, 12, 14, 17 - tonight CD17 I had red blood after sex. Really startled me as I'd of thought ovulation spotting would have occurred before now. Anyone else experience bleeding afterwards? Sad

stealthbanana · 22/06/2015 08:07

Hi. Great weekend but am now CD57 with no sign of either a period or a pregnancy. Have made an appointment with a gynaecologist for Friday week to get the ball rolling on investigating this.

Post sex red blood sounds more like a tear or cut to me than anything ovulation related. Was it energetic? Grin

Margo5 · 22/06/2015 08:22

Happy Birthday Ally - def don't let no AF get in the way of celebrating!!

Thanks Rose I think I will wait for my first AF and then start using OPKs (hidden from DH of course!). Saw a friend at the weekend who had a clear blue fertility monitor which she is going to lend me so will just need to get the sticks to use with it. Great as the monitor is so expensive!!

Rose I have no idea by about spotting, i agree with stealthbanana it may be a sex related minor injury... Blush

Best wishes for the week everyone... Day 14 off the pill and still no sign of AF. Feeling fine, no side effects at moment but am taking Evening Primrose and Starflower Oil for 2 weeks now too so maybe it's helping...

TriJo · 22/06/2015 09:28

CD37 here, second negative test this morning. Not even the slightest sniff of the crimson tide approaching. Down with this sort of thing.

Pretty good day yesterday - cycling with hubby and then home to watch his team lose at hurling. May have been a bottle of wine at one point too ;)

Belle888 · 22/06/2015 17:04

Hi all. Sorry for disappearing just got back from holiday celebrating our wedding anniversary! So the news is technically I think in CD30. Although I'm not sure if that's right - I took my last pill at the end of the packet like normal then had my normal break bleed, does anybody know if I can count CD days based on that or does it have to be after AF? No period like symptoms at all or otherwise. Is it just a waiting game for AF now? Don't know what to do Hmm x

bananafish81 · 22/06/2015 17:23

Belle888 I called day 1 of my withdrawal bleed CD1 to track my first cycle off the pill. If I'd started on the Clomid straight from my pill (or if/when I do if I take it from a Norethisterone withdrawal bleed) the consultant said that would be CD1. If it's good enough for him it's good enough for me Smile

I'm obsessing a bit as I'm tracking my cervical fluid and got my first day of EWCM (tmi?!) but as the Clearblue fertility monitor said I was low I'm not putting too much stock in it. I know if you have pcos it can give misleading results but I think that's more false positives if you have ongoing elevated levels of LH (so it thinks you're having a peak surge when you're not) than false negatives. And I think pcos women can have several patches of ewcm in an anovulatory cycle so I'm trying not to get my hopes up that I'll magically lay an egg in my first month off the pill!

Rose58 · 22/06/2015 18:23

Thanks girls - we didn't get to BD much earlier this year as were drying with my parents while we renovated and extended our house so possibly just not used to this much sex!! I've booked a GP appt to just put my mind at rest. Otherwise CD 18 with watery CM and one sore breast!! Random!

Belle I hope you had a nice time. Could day 1 of AF as CD1.

Margo - update us re info on the fertility monitor!

stealthbanana · 23/06/2015 19:31

Gah! I officially give up. Started bleeding yesterday - proper bleeding w cramps etc. But it's stopped overnight. Completely gone. Does that count as a period? Spotting? Something else? I am so sick of this!

Sparksflyx · 23/06/2015 19:47

Hi girls:) hope I can join in!

I've just come off my pill also, had been taking it irregularly as I thought I was ready to TTC my first with oh. but we was on holiday and AF appeared the day after! so went back on my pill again, we did dtd with no contraception while away but once I stopped my pill properly i ended up with a 3 day period, its really abnormal for me, today Iv been feeling really nauseous but I think it's just wishful thinking!!

Trying to be casual about TTC & it's so difficult because I'm so excited about it!

Sparksflyx · 23/06/2015 19:49

Can I also ask a question....
What day does your cycle start? is it the first day of AF then OV occurs 14 days after the first day of your period? X

pinkdaffodil23 · 23/06/2015 20:24

Hi everyone
I hope you don't mind me joining, I've been looking for others that have experienced coming of the pill and I found here.
I came off the pill ( rivegidon ) 3 weeks ago, after being on it for 8 years, I'm now 24. We're also not telling anyone that were TTC. I'm so nervous as to what my cycles are going to be like, whether I'll get back to normal straight away or if it will take months. I really want to conceive soon.
Best wishes to you all

Sparksflyx · 23/06/2015 20:30

Pinkdaffodil,

I totally understand, Iv chopped and changed contraception since I was 15! I'm away to be 21 and I have never had a regular cycle so a bit worried about cycles too! & don't want to tell anyone close to us that we're TTC either!

Hope it happens for you soon! X

Jellybean100 · 23/06/2015 20:51

Sparks, Cycle starts first day of AF. Everyone ovulates on different days but typically between day 12 and 17. X

Sparksflyx · 23/06/2015 21:01

Thanks jellybean! I thought that but wasn't 100%! Xx

Dottydoodoo · 24/06/2015 08:54

Hi everyone! Can I join in please?

I took my last pill on Sunday so now I'm just waiting for my usual withdrawal bleed and then it will be go go go with ttc! We are excited to be ttc but I'm so nervous too. I'm worried about what my cycles will be like, will they come back, will they be really heavy/regular and that's before I start worring about actually being pregnant!

Fingers crossed for an easy ttc journey for all of us.
