TWW officially begins!!!!!

AF due 13th May and have no idea of how I'm going to wait that long!

This is our first cycle TTC baby #1 and since we have decided to try I have been very anxious. I just want this to happen, my close family have all had fertility issues and I've convinced myself I will too.

Just thought I'd start thus for support for all wanting some words if encouragement.

gakay wedding = big yay!!

Agree with Sarah, he should still propose when he gets round to having a ring. Wedding prep will definitely take your mind off the TTC journey.

We've been married 6 years this August and just bought our family forever home so decorating is my current distraction. Trying to put all effort into that instead of temping and all of that stuff.

Actually looking forward to AF; 1. Prepare for the next cycle and 2. Have a drink lol!

gakay don't be disheartened with a BFN, I truly do believe it will happen for us all. Just a matter of time. Some of our journeys will be sooner, some will be later. I'm just thinking of it as my baby will make their appearance when they want and if they're anything like me they'll make a fashionable late arrival lol.

Plus, as my doctor said our bodies are designed to do this so let the natural inevitable happen, because it will.Smile

itwillhappen u just made me chuckle, i'm late for everything! Thats a great way of looking at things and what i'll try and keep in mind when AF turns up for me which i'm sure she will.

bourbondreams · 10/05/2015 17:25

Yay for weddings gakay that will definitely help you take your mind off things! and give you another focus so hopefully help to relax on the ttc focus....

I agree he should def do a proposal once he has a ring :) or shop for one together... That's what we did ... I got proposed to with a haribo ring. Which was a little joke we'd always had. He was a bit worried about buying the ring as I wanted a ruby not diamond one. Yep I'm awkward! Lol

I've been married two years in oct, but with hubby for almost 11.5years now... Which seems crazy when I think about it all.

itwillhappen that is definitely the way I am trying to look at it all! I think what will be will be and to just enjoy things and not let it get to me too much! I think as I get closer to totm I feel like it hasn't happen so just hurry up and get this totm over with so can start again!

sarah1391 we were worried about the expense... We went abroad to get married... Told everyone what we were planing with plenty of time to save and then did it the way we wanted. Was a lot cheaper and we had a great wedding and then honeymoon all at less cost that it could have been here,

So I am hoping that some of these BFN turn into BFP this week... We are now approaching the time when it could show up on by test, I've resisted testing so far (can't actually believe I've managed!! But think it's cos I am so adamant it won't happen)

We've been trying to sort out mortgage stuff this weekend so that's been keeping me occupied which has def helped, and I've spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking away... Which I find great to relax :)

Hope you are all doing well xx

Hopefulnewbie · 10/05/2015 17:42

Hello everyone!
gakay that's lovely news :) u will have to keep us updated on all ur ideas and plans
Me n my partner have been together 7years- not married yet :( mainly because we decided to go for a mortgage over a wedding and now wer ttc so it's on the back bench again! Unless I win the lotto
Fingers crossed this is goin to be n exciting week for everyone, no AF and lots on bfP's! .. Although I'm getting my infamous backache I get Every month hmmm

gakay · 11/05/2015 07:18

Thank you ladies. DP last night said he still wants to propose so that would be nice. Guess I'm just too impatient...

We bought a house a year ago but it's a massive project and still lots of work to do.
sarah now I'm not sure if a wedding is a good idea anymore. I don't mind a tiny wedding with only a few people but DP has so many best friends even just the bare minimum and immediate family is already a biggish wedding. The thought of organising a wedding is getting me stressed already.

itwillhappen that's a very good point - have not thought about that at all. If baby is anything like me and DP, it will definitely be very late.

Temp dropped this morning so af is in sight. Now I want it asap so I get to start the next cycle soon. Fingers crossed for for all of you getting bfps thus week

gakay · 11/05/2015 07:24

bourbon haribo ring sounds so sweet! I would love it if DP proposed with that than me having to ask him first. Oh well, like I said above, he is always late.

hopeful I know what you mean but am thinking if we don't get married now we'll never be bothered to do so in the future. I've wanted to get married for a long while but DP didn't so thought building a family together is the same commitment but looks like no luck there either.

bourbondreams · 11/05/2015 09:47

haha yeah it was very cute gakay we had been together 7.5 years when it happened and it was so unexpected as we had just brought our first house too.

I am finding it so hard not to test now I know I am getting closer to AF... I think it will be negative, I don't really feel anything at the moment. Who knows....

Anyone else testing again? I think Thursday is when I am due to test... so must try not to until then!

Hopefulnewbie · 11/05/2015 09:55

bourbondreams i think thurs is the day for me too.. im due Weds/Thurs.. although i think AF is going to beat me too it, ive got the monthly back ache - i get it a few days before so its right on schedule :(
you think youl be able to wait until Thurs?

bourbondreams · 11/05/2015 10:33

I am not sure... I think it depends on if it all seems to be showing signs or not. I usually get a massive head ache a day or two before AF so that would be today/tomorrow, but so far its all OK. And I usually get some spotting the day or so before it starts, so not sure if should just wait and see if that happens. so confusing!

I would need to be able to tell Hubby before we go away this weekend as if I am preggo we need to think what we will do with seeing friends as its always a boozy weekend when we see them but I don't think I would want to tell them so early on even with being her MOH. I would want to leave it a little longer...

Argh its so tricky! perhaps I should tomorrow am? two days before? Or weds? Or just see what happens Thursday and if any of normal symptoms start...

Hopefulnewbie · 11/05/2015 10:46

bourbondreams keeping my fingers so firmly crossed for you!

i think im going to do the same, just keep an eye on any symptoms for AF .. my backache is usually joined by cramps and a bloated belly (i have the bloated belly but i think i just ate too much over the weekend!) a day or two before AF so maybe Weds.. I ordered internet cheapies, they haven't arrived yet so im at least promising myself il wait for those to arrive and not go buying any in my lunch break.
On the weekend, you could always use the "im just finishing a course of antibiotics" tactic , i used that yesterday when everyone was having a drink with lunch.. im sure im fine to drink but just in case

bourbondreams · 11/05/2015 16:29

hopeful i read that the pregnancy symptoms can be similar in some ways to AF ones, especially with back pain, so you never know.

Just found myself looking at maternity wear on asos... as we are bridesmaid dress looking for sept when I am MOH for a friend. So now I just want to know if we are in this month or not!!!

Desperately resisiting taking a test now as I know it wouldn't be as "strong" and so might not show up.... argh soooo hard!

antibiotics is a good excuse! I like that one!

Hopefulnewbie · 11/05/2015 18:19

bourbondreams I have no will power at all! I got home from work n my Internet cheapies had arrived.. So obv the first thing I did, test! BfN!!
I could literally slap myself ahhhh

Hopefulnewbie · 11/05/2015 18:32

Sorry bourbon that was a real self involved message of me, I completly forgot to ask, how is the MOH role goin? U organised the hen night or anything like that yet? ..a floaty dress might be the way forward ;)
I was MOH last year, lovely job but can get stressful (though my friend is stressful anyway hehe)

bourbondreams · 11/05/2015 20:09

hopeful haha don't be silly!!

Ah silly tests arriving already :( that's no good.

I have been thinking about trying one all day... But am trying to wait, I will see if AF symptoms com up. No idea though.

Yeah MOH role is going ok. It's been hard work at times - but these things always are. I think everyone is different about what is essential and worth the money being spent on, and their spend is getting way out of control! But alas I am doing what I can to support.

Yes I think we will see how it goes dress wise. Not sure how soon they want to look really. But I am saving and sharing ideas I see.

Yes hen is almost sorted now, we are off for weekend in Barcelona which will be nice. I need to get sorting some bits out cos it will be here before we know it!!

Itwillhappenforus · 11/05/2015 22:00

Hey Ladies,

I hope you're having a great start to the week.

Love wedding planning, although ask me to do it again and I would never!! lol. Loved my wedding day, but it's true it just gets bigger and bigger and it really takes away from why you're getting married.

On the TTC front, I am spotting which is my usual pattern for AF to start over the next 24-36 hours, smack bang on schedule. Was saying to DH that at least my cycle is regular and like clockwork every month.

Am a little gutted, but at the same time I knew all along so not massively surprised. So silly to put all hope into first month in retrospect. Looking forward to the next month to start again. Plan for next month is to DTD every other day and also use pre-seed around ovulation / fertile period.

At lease I can have a drink at this engagement party I'm going to this weekend Wine Smile

Got my fingers crossed for the rest of you ladies this week. x

sarah1391 · 11/05/2015 23:21

gakay of course a wedding is a good idea :)
bourbon and hopefulnewbie fx u get BFPs!
itwillhappen sorry ur thinking AF is away to make an appearance! I'm trying not to put all my hope on the first month either but all this not knowing is getting to me. Am i pregnant? Is my body back to normal after coming off the pill? My head is mush

Sorry for sounding a bit depressing, feeling a bit meh tonight

Hopefulnewbie · 12/05/2015 08:07

i caved again this morning, i really should go an see someone about my lack of willpower! .... im freaking a little cos to me it looks like a very faint line... i dunno if ive just convinced myself its there, i did another and got the same very faint line....isit a evap line.. is it still too early? im due tomorrow/thurs(ish) ... trying not to get too excited Confused Shock

The waiting game!!!
bourbondreams · 12/05/2015 08:56

itwillhappen I know! Weddings bring out the worst in people sometimes! Sorry for AF if you think making an appearance, I am hopeful that it won't for you and its just "symptoms" but like you I think it can't possibly happen first time round, as its never that simple right? I think its the excitment of trying finally that makes it feel like it could happen, especially if think the right things have been done.

sarah1391 I know what you mean, I have the same thoughts since coming off the pill, and not 100% knowing my cycle length cos I took ages to get it back and once it did come back we just wanted to try, so I am the same about has my body gone back to my previous really short cycles or has it gone to more standard ones... who knows! I guess I will find out in next few days....

hopeful tut tut for caving - only messing! I nearly did but was half asleep this am i was in the shower before I realised that I had planned to test! I can see a line on there too, so its not just you. It isn't too early I don't think, as you can start to see it apparently on them up to 4 days before a missed AF. so it is possible. I would test again tomorrow, or if you can get a early response/clear blue one which could show up better? Keeping my FX for you

Itwillhappenforus · 12/05/2015 09:19

hopeful that's a definite line!!! Congrats!

Get a clear blue to do tomorrow just to confirm but that looks really promising!!

OP posts:
Hopefulnewbie · 12/05/2015 09:27

thanks! itwillhappen i will pop out in my lunch break today to pick one up... i havnt said anything to DP, im going to try an wait until the end of the week to see if the line gets darker, fingers crossed!!

gakay · 12/05/2015 09:33

hopeful congratulations! It's definitely a line! Yay, first BFP here.

bourbon please share your experience as MOH. Will need to know all the do's and dont's in wedding planning and also how not to treat my MOH as a bride to be.
I havent really told anyone about it yet. You girls are really first to know. Guess it still feels rather surreal especially as I was the one who asked the question.

Day 4 of spotting and af still hasn't arrived. It's so frustrating. And of course still bfn every day. Not tested today though as can't really be bothered. Have read somewhere that it's abnormal to spot for so many days before period (this is new to me and only for the last 3 cycles) and could be due to low progesterone, which could also explain my 2 early mc's. Have booked a GP appt this evening. Really don't know what to expect - could well be sent away as not been trying for long enough.

bourbondreams · 12/05/2015 09:33

how do you think you will tell him hopeful? I am not sure how to do it for mine when it happens...

Hopefulnewbie · 12/05/2015 09:56

bourbundreams i have no idea, i not sure whats best... to do another test and then tell him, or to tell him i think i might be then do a test with him there on the weekend.. but then il worry that it comes up neg and il look a right plum! i need to tell him by Monday as hes away with work for a week, i wont be able to wait that long
you have any ideas what you will do? x

bourbondreams · 12/05/2015 10:16

I'm not sure, part of me wants to test myself and know and then order him a book or something that is for a fathers perspective during pregnancy/early years, with a little card.

I want to do something fun with it really, cos well he really surprised me with his proposal and so this is the only thing I could really do which would have the same impact to him as that was to me...

I might see what I can get on amazon prime if I am testing Thursday it should show as thats when I am due AF and so if it shows up I would be able to order something off there for delivery next day?

I've never thought it would be a possibility but now I think I do need to have a plan for it :) haha.... we never thought we would have babies so if we do will feel like a miracle. :)

I would if I worked in a city centre pop to Millies cookies and get it put on a cookie as he loves them! but alas not near one :(
