TWW officially begins!!!!!

AF due 13th May and have no idea of how I'm going to wait that long!

This is our first cycle TTC baby #1 and since we have decided to try I have been very anxious. I just want this to happen, my close family have all had fertility issues and I've convinced myself I will too.

Just thought I'd start thus for support for all wanting some words if encouragement.

Hi everyone! Another newbie jumping in, if that's ok?

I'm TTC now, currently in my fertile window and expecting AF on 4th July....and I'm already impatient and wanting to test! Ah man it sucks!!

Lots of baby dust being sprinkled your way! Star

Sodasoda · 16/06/2015 22:40

Just a quick one to wish bourbon good luck for interview tomorrow. Sending positive vibes! Xx

ellewalk · 17/06/2015 10:01

bourbon good luck with the interview today, fingers crossed for you xx

Sodasoda · 17/06/2015 16:27

Hi everyone,

bourbon hope it went well today.

gakay - how's the fertile period going, have you peaked yet? Hope your antihistamines are helping!

If I'm the same as the last 2 months I'll get my posutive OPK tomorrow (cd16) but I have had back ache the last couple of days so could easily be today. In exciting news (in TTC world!!) I definitely noticed some of this egg white fluid stuff today that people talk about. I was pretty pleased as I've been a bit worried as never noticed anything before. I texted DP to ask him to try and leave work earlier tonight! Ha! I didn't go into details... So feeling really hopeful that this might be the month I catch it.

gakay · 17/06/2015 17:13

soda it's not a good cycle for me. I really don't know what's going on. Y'day I had loads of ewcm despite only being cd9 (same happened last cycle) but not peaking yet on OPK but think will probably do tmw (same as you). DP was in a mood probably cos of work stress yday so he didn't seem to want to DTD which upset me. He seems to think that I won't ov till later so why bother. He always seems too lazy to DTD until I peak which may well be too late. My thermometer is broken. Got a new one but doesn't seem to work properly either.

Tmw is the would-have-been due date. Could it be that we actually conceive tmw?
Have booked a table at a really fancy restaurant tmw. At least something to look forward to and enjoy each others company with good food.

londonrach · 17/06/2015 20:36

No af thats mon-tue next week just nothing like the spotting last month. I think last month i did but it didnt implant.sorry not able to help others at mo as feeling low...

Sodasoda · 17/06/2015 23:17

Hi gakay sorry about your cycle this month. I'm feeling annoyed tonight. DP has had a big thing with work tonight and has gone out for drinks and isn't home yet. I normally would be fine with that but when I specifically told him tonight was important I thought he'd make more effort. At least my OPK was negative tonight but reckon tomorrow will be peak so still important to DTD tonight! I hope tomorrow is your day - it would be so lovely if it was! Hope it's not too difficult for you.

london - try to stay positive. I'd reckon the fact you're not spotting is a good sign.

gakay · 18/06/2015 09:27

bourbon how did it go yesterday?

london hope you are feeling better today. Well, most women don't spot when they implant. In fact I found on a website which shows that spotting tends to happen to women who do not end up getting pg that cycle. So it may well be a good thing.

soda sorry about last night. DP and I have had quite a few fights because of that in the past. It's difficult when it comes to work for men I guess. I'm glad that he announced to his boss that he's having a detox week this week as otherwise he would have to go out for drinks with clients last night.
Have you peaked today? It's not too late even if you didn't manage it last night.
Have started testing twice a day and got a +ve on ic last night then a peak on cb this morning. Was staying up late finishing an essay but managed to have a quick go at DTD. Will try again tonight and hope for the best. It would be amazing if we manage to get a BFP this cycle.

Sodasoda · 18/06/2015 15:31

He finally arrived home at 2am last night so no DTD for us! Angry Its hard to be annoyed about it really though, I know it's part of his job. gakay - I just test once a day when I get home from work so not sure if I've peaked yet today or not. It's cd16 today and it's been cd16 for the last couple of months so hopefully it will be today. Im not sure. I had worse back ache earlier in the week and I have a funny feeling maybe it's already happened - it was quite late on Tuesday when I did my test and I don't think I'd held my wee for long but got a fairly dark second line. Not quite AS dark as the first line but I did look at it for quite a while. I guess I'll know in the next couple of days as I tend to get sore nipples after ovulation. Yesterday was the only day I've EVER noticed ewcm for me though so annoyed we missed yesterday. Definitely planning on DTD today tomorrow and as much as we can over the weekend to try and catch it! Really hope you get your BFP this month.

Sodasoda · 18/06/2015 18:35

Negative OPK. Hmmmm. Not sure what to make of that.

londonrach · 18/06/2015 18:49

How the interview go boubon? Soda once he has slept.... Dh has booked us a holiday of which the end is start of next cycle... So now hoping af comes early. Dh says more likely to get babies on holiday so he has been teasing with with different french names.... Tbh i dont care re the name just a baby full stop would be nice. Anyone see protecting my foster children on bbc iplayer about jessie

bourbondreams · 19/06/2015 08:54

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been a bit off the radar!

So I got the job!!!! I am soooo excited! So happy! I found out yesterday. The interview had gone so well on Weds and I had really impressed with all the work and effort I put into it. So I am now just waiting for my contracts and information to come along and then I can hand my notice in. :) soooo happy! Felt like a massive weight off my shoulders yesterday.

I also managed to lose another 2.5lb this week! Which was a shock as we celebrated last night with a curry and a few drinkies with friends.

We're currently deciding that perhaps we need to put ttc on hold now, for a few months until I know whats what where I am going to be working and also I may qualify for a better mat package if I wait. will see though. Its all so tricky!

gakay I am sending you massive hugs, I can't even imagine what you have been feeling over the past few days. I am keeping my FX that fate makes it happen for you this month
londonrachkeeping fx for you :)

soda enjoy your weekend of DTD fx this month for you as well :)

Whats everyones plans this weekend? I have a driving lesson for 3 hrs from 7am tomo ahead of my test monday morning! And that's about it, other than planning bits for my friends hen weekend in a few weeks, and getting things ready for going away for my birthday next week! :)

Sodasoda · 19/06/2015 09:34

bourbon that's fantastic news, congrats! Handing in your notice is going to feel so good! And your birthday etc coming up - lots to look forward to! I started my job in January and I need to be here a year before maternity leave to get a good package so I waited a few months before trying.

gakay thinking of you today and really hoping this is your lucky month.

So my backache has gone and I'm thinking more and more that I've missed my peak this month (although no sore nipples yet to confirm). I DTD on sat, mon, tues (when I think I peaked) but not weds when I saw ewcm and then DTD last night too. Will also tonight and over weekend. Do you think that might cover me or was Wednesday the key day? Will be so annoyed to have missed it!

I've got a lovely weekend planned of looking at wedding venues and getting wedding rings! Still planning for a small August wedding so need to get things sorted!

Hope everyone has lovely weekends xx

ellewalk · 19/06/2015 10:07

Hello all...

bourbon well done you, all that hard work preparing paid off! Really pleased for you Grin

gakay hope you are ok, fx this will be the month

soda try not to stress to much about missing that day, you can't go back and fix it and you will never know if it would have made any difference. Just keep trying and hoping that you have caught it! Sounds like you have a lovely weekend planned enjoy yourself.

So I shall be entering my fertile window in the next few days, CD6 now and ovulation is expected around CD12/13, so I am planning on dtd all weekend and then every other day during the week (as per DH deal). Not got any real plans this weekend just the usual food shopping and house work, might bake a cake but laying off the baking (to stop me eating it! Cake)

Babydust to you all x

Sodasoda · 21/06/2015 18:54

Hi everyone, hope you all had good weekends. I had a lovely time - wedding rings sorted and lots of progress on venues too, just got to make a decision now!

I got my positive OPK yesterday and today so really pleased with the timing as was worried I'd missed it. I'm on cd19 so it does seem to happen pretty late in my cycle. So will be keeping fingers crossed I get a BFP in 2 weeks time - would be lovely to make an announcement to our families at our wedding in August!

londonrach · 21/06/2015 21:26

Wow...so many positive news...jobs and rings. You got the dress yet?Keeping fingers crossed for ellen. Well done soda and gakay. Xx. Can see signs of af myself tonight which is meant to start tomorrow, but pleased this time as get it over before holiday and give us time for holiday baby making! Be even more pleased if no need for holiday baby making...but just now its not this month.

gakay · 22/06/2015 10:05

Morning everyone.

bourbon congratulations! Am so excited for you. Any idea when you will be starting the new job?
Oh, good luck for your driving test.

elle hope you've had a fun wkn DTD without stress

soda you are so efficient! What are rings like? Am still waiting for DP to propose properly before we can progress further with the planning. Think it will be in end of July when we go on holiday.
Announcement at your wedding sounds brilliant! Fx for you that this is your month!

london where are you going for your holiday? Sounds like matter what happens tmw you will still be able to enjoy your holiday which is great!

So I've had rather upsetting few days not so much because of the would-have-been EDD but cos of my DP. Had planned for us to go to this fancy restaurant that evening cos I wanted us to do sth nice but he arrived in a miserable mood because it's a sunny day and he can't drink or smoke (cos we've agreed he won't during my fertile period). Then he said during the meal that he thinks we shouldn't change our lifestyle for ttc cos there may be other reasons that are stopping us from getting pg, otherwise he will be miserable for 1-2 weeks every month. He thinks we may as well just go for ivf privately (cos we won't qualify for NHS if he cont to smoke). I was so upset with his attitude that I ended up crying in this Michelin starred restaurant.
Had another row on Saturday when we were supposed to have a relaxed time together but he suddenly decided to go for drinks with his fd stating that he's sacrificed all week for me he's desperate to go out. He couldn't wait until the next day when I would be busy at work anyway.
I'm so angry with him. It's so much easier being a man than a woman!

Bridhe · 22/06/2015 12:19

Hi! Newbie signing in here - due for AF tomorrow, but have been cramping, feeling periodic nausea, moodswings and headaches since 5-7 dpo (and our first attempt at TTC!) I realise it's incredibly unlikely that I've fallen on the first go, but it's good to read others experiences and be in good company :)

Sodasoda · 23/06/2015 12:16

gakay really sorry to hear about the problems you're having. I think it must be really tough for the men in our lives too. Are you still in fertile period? When is AF due for you?

I just went for a simple band for my wedding ring. No dress yet - going to stay with my parents in a couple of weeks and hoping to get something with my mum then - she's made a few appointments with dress shops that have samples so I can get something in time.

london did AF get you? Hopefulky you can enjoy your hol either way.

Welcome bridhe - did AF come today? Did you take a test? No reason why it can't happen first time! Were you taking pill beforehand?

Im out my fertile period now. I've got sore nipples today which seems to be my sign that I've ovulated. i feel like we've done everything we can this month to make it happen so feeling pretty hopeful.

Bridhe · 23/06/2015 12:36

Hi Sodasoda!

No AF yet, just some cramping and light spotting, going to test tomorrow am if still not in full bleed. I'm in a same sex marriage so no need for contraceptives (there's been some humorous interactions with medical staff around that!), but our attempt was really a "dry run" so to speak. Our donor kindly offered to let us do a practice run a day after I O'd just so we could try the equipment and instructions (it's totally the least romantic way ever to DtD, we're hoping that practice will make it better!)

Good luck this month! I suspect I'll be trying again in 10 days or so!

Sodasoda · 23/06/2015 14:34

Good luck bridhe! You're very restrained in the testing! I would have already tested every day for the last week! You never know, you might have got lucky but maybe try and time it for just before or day of ovulation next time? Day after you may just have missed it.

AF due for me on 4th July. I'm going to really try this month not to test until the day of but ask me how that is going in a week or so!

Bridhe · 23/06/2015 14:44

Thanks @Sodasoda :) As I say, it was not intended to be the real thing really, we'd already missed the key date! I've been tracking everything and intend to go day before O and then every other day for two more goes after. Three times a cycle in total. I've got OPKs and I'm not afraid to use em!

gakay · 23/06/2015 15:29

Am procrastinating at work so coming here...

bridhe welcome!
Are you planning to try day after o and then twice after? Not sure if I've misunderstood you as injecting after o would be too late.

soda think my AF is due on or around the same day as you!
Good that your mum has arranged those appts for you already.
Was excited to hear that DP has requested venue brochures. Guess we could start looking at venues before the formal proposal Grin
Think this is what I'm going to do in the next 2 weeks to distract myself. Am meant to start testing for the study tmw but am going to wait for a few more days - am wick of seeing those sad bfn's...

Bridhe · 23/06/2015 15:44

Hi gakay, thank you for the welcome!

No, day before. The only reason we tried after was because we are using at home insemination and we were just doing a test run. We're not expecting to have been successful!

bourbondreams · 23/06/2015 15:47

Hi all!

So sorry I've been off the radar since my news on Thursday - it has been a mad few days, I failed driving test (again!) annoyingly, but what I failed on I am fairly sure I was right doing what I did and tbh if they think I wasn't then fair dos but I did what I felt safe at the time - all to do with joining the carriageway! Ah well! Can't have too much good news can I?! haha.

soda I am so glad all your wedding plans are coming along, I just have a simple gold band, i think it sets the engagement ring off nicely, and also when on day i get an eternity ring i wont feel like i have too much sparkle! haha. it sounds like your plans are coming along well :) I hope the dress shopping goes well in a few weeks

gakay I am so sorry you have had such a rough few days with it all. It really is so stressful for everyone isn't it, and everyone says you should just be relaxed and blah blah but until in the situation it is hard to comment. And I think sometimes we do forget how stressful it is for the men, but also it is worse for us as we are aware of EVERYTHING that is going on and just get a bit crazy. it really can't have been helpful to have all that going on on top of it being EDD for you. Sending big hugs and it sounds hopeful that DP has requested some brochures :)

welcome to the newbies. :) lots of fx for you all :)

I am hoping to start new job by end of July - all dependant on giving my notice in at current work, but I won't do that until i've had my contract through, as otherwise just feels like a dream!
