Hi everyone - there seems to be loads of us who have just started using the CBFM, so I thought I'd start a new thread on the topic so we can share tips and experiences - and hopefully BFPs!

This is my 1st month of using it - so far have had HIGH readings from CD11...still waiting patiently for my PEAK reading...

How's everyone else getting on with it?!?

nadinetd · 21/11/2006 11:04

any news on AF kitkat? hopefully still at bay? x

KitKat30 · 21/11/2006 11:58

Hi Nadine - I started spotting this morning, so I think AF is on its way . Never mind, wasnt to be this month, but will continue using the CBFM next month - hope I get lucky! How are you feeling now?

OP posts:
nadinetd · 21/11/2006 19:29

hey kitkat sorry to hear that but u never know x
im ok went to doctors they have refered me for early scan waiting for date to see how baby is only 7 weeks so hopefully everything is ok xxx

cityangel · 24/11/2006 08:40

CD1 today Help first time using the CBFM and it says to use first wee, but on the other discussions people said later in the day is better for LH surge 10am - 6pm when should I set it for do you think?

KitKat30 · 24/11/2006 08:52

Hi city - sorry about AF hon . I use first wee - normally around 6.30/7am... I thought the hormones were supposed to stronger 1st thing in the morning? It seems to read it fine anyway - picked up lows, highs and peaks for me. I think with the 2nd month it must adjust it's levels to suit you individually.

TBH I'd go with the CBFM instructions (if only because it's easier to remember to do it first thing in the morning and you're most likely to be at home)... let us know how you get on.

nadinetd · 24/11/2006 08:53

i used 1st wee of the day and so did my friend i think it depend on what suits you really i just found it easier 1st thing asi didnt forget xx good luck xx

cityangel · 24/11/2006 10:15

Thanks guys, sorry mad panic this morning to find it and work out what to do with it!
So I pressed it at 10am so I can do first wee or lunchtime concetrated if I forget or am late!
It said it starts from CD6 asking for tests...
I think I OV on CD17 not CD19 as I previously thought so we'll see what it says
It says the batteries are low already which is really annoying

KitKat30 · 24/11/2006 10:26

No! It's brand new isnt it??? Oh - thinking about it, did they come with batteries? Actually I'm pretty sure I had to buy mine separately...

It seemed pretty accurate to me - I got my first PEAK reading on CD18 and that evening I got really sharp ov pains...so hopefully it knows what it's doing!

Think I'm due to start testing CD9 this month...hope I dont have to use 20 sticks again!

Hello there.

I am CD26 today and on the high day after the two peak days. I am so hoping this is my month especially after what I think was a chemical preganancy last month.

Please keep everything crossed for me and I am for you all.

The CBFM seems to have recognised all my days for me so I am hoping its worked.

Babydust to all xxxxx

KitKat30 · 29/11/2006 09:02

Fingers crossed for you endless - really hope this is your month. xx

OP posts:
Dipstick · 29/11/2006 18:19

Best of luck endless - sending you lots of positive vibes X

cityangel · 29/11/2006 22:23

Endless really exciting I hope it works out xxx

I usually OV on CD17 and you mentioned you are around CD24. It can be frustrating OVing later do you find?

Kit Kat you're spot on. They don't come with batteries and yes we put low ones in! Still now batteries sorted. FOr everyone's reference it does have a memory if you need to change the batteries part way through.

First day of testing today. Does it read the single (or double) line off the stick?

alondonmum · 29/11/2006 22:57

Sorry if I'm dim, but what does AF stand for?

cityangel · 30/11/2006 00:53

Your Period (Auntie Flo) at the top of the page there should be a link to the acronym link.

KitKat30 · 01/12/2006 08:32

Hi guys - I dont know if it does read the line... I kept looking out for it too, but it looked exactly the same for my lows, highs and peaks, so it cant be. I reckon it must actually test the wee, rather than read the line...?

OP posts:
cityangel · 01/12/2006 09:42

Gosh I was sure it read the line because the wee is in the cap... intriguing! I am still torn over whether first wee or wee after 10am is better. I am very happy with how easy it is to use though.

KitKat30 · 01/12/2006 09:52

oh yeah - I see what you mean... very odd. There was barely a noticeable difference between the lines on different days. Or maybe I wasnt being observant enough!!

Very easy to use - but am slightly fed up of having to pee on a stick every morning...especially when I'm desperate to go!! Bloody fiddly wrappers...!

OP posts:
cityangel · 01/12/2006 10:00

Yes it took me a while to work out one end is way easier to open than the other. I started laying it out open the night before for quick pee access My temps look better this month so I am hopeful this could be the one but it's early days.

sparklytreeangel · 04/12/2006 10:22

So low again which is no surprise. When (hopefully) I start to get medium/ high or peak how many days of this should I expect to get?

endlesslove · 04/12/2006 13:58

Hello there. Just an update. Feeling so unpregnant so don't think this month is such a lucky one for me. Will be testing on Saturday morning. However, yesterday I did a test (why oh why???! I just couldn't help myself!) and it was of course BFN. I was 7 DPO so don't think it would have showed up pregancy would it?

Good luck everyone.
xx

MerryKitkatmas · 05/12/2006 09:15

Hi both

endless I think 7dpo is waaaay too early. Best to leave it until after AF is due I think hon. I think GPs recommend that you wait until 5 days after AF is due... impossible I know!!

Hey sparkly - my 1st month I got highs days 12 - 17, peaks on 18 and 19, and then another high on CD20. This month - month 2 - I'm still getting lows on CD14!!! Who knows...got some EWCM on CD12 so I'm hoping for some highs/peaks soon! What CD are you on?

MerryKitkatmas · 05/12/2006 09:16

By LOWS I mean 2 bars on the indicator...

MerryKitkatmas · 06/12/2006 09:09

Hmmm...I've confused myself now!! Does 2 bars on the indicator count as medium or high?? For some reason I had it in my head that:

1 bar = low
2 bars = medium
3 bars = high
3 bars + egg symbol = peak

Is this right??? Looking on the CBFM website, I don't think you can get 3 bars without an egg symbol...? Which would mean:

1 bar = low
2 bars = high
3 bars + egg symbol = peak

Any ideas anyone?!?

sparklytreeangel · 06/12/2006 10:38

Hey KitKat I haven't got that far with it yet but after the weekend I should know. Do you still have your guice thingy that might have it.
How are you getting on this month?
