genni that is such brilliant, brilliant news!! After so long too, you deserve this!!
lucieloos hope all this BFP bonanza comes your next too after your long wait.

purdey may I pick your (knowledgable!) brain? I still don't know what is causing my annovulatory (at least the cycles which were tested) long cycles - I'm now on clomid but before cycles were 40 days, then 90+ days, then 50-55 days. I've always had long irregular cycles. I conceived my 1st child easily without assistance so the Gynocologist said she didn't think it was PCOS because of this, also I don't have the standard physical attributes. My thyroid levels have been checked (I've not got the results as not had another appointment since but assuming they would have told me if they were wrong). So a little stumped on what my body is playing at. I did turn down a promotion in case work stress was playing a part (that was much earlier in the year). Any ideas?? I know I should just feel so lucky having the one brilliant DS though!!

Hi ladies do you mind if I hop aboard? I've been lurking for a while. I'm ancient and probably the oldest on here - 43 aaargh! Have two DCs from first marriage now trying for a last minute miracle with DP of a few years. Tried the "just shagging" approach as this worked with my first two but my eggs are so old that I think I need to get a bit more scientific to stand any chance at all!

Any suggestions for good books/articles about learning to temp? I think I'm still ovulating! On CD 22 here - ravenous, tits are huge and agony - but suspect AF on the way.

Congrats to all those with BFPs!

AnnaBegins · 21/01/2015 19:51

Aw congrats to genni, lingua & blimey, and glad to hear all's well Terri!

pulpi · 21/01/2015 19:53

My stats: 32, TTC #1, cycle 1, BFP due 22 Jan.

AnnaBegins · 21/01/2015 19:54

mumwannabe (not such a wannabe now, more like well on the way!) you are fab for posting that - there's so many of us!

PurdeyBirdie · 21/01/2015 19:56

Marmite, fear not, foods you eat can't yet pass to a baby as there's no umbilical cord Smile

Emma, you're a sweetheart Thanks

Nevlet, brown blood at 7dpo can only be one of two things: a) implantation bleeding and b) imminent AF. Your period isn't due yet, right?

SPINNING!! You minx, you! You kept that one quiet, missus! Oooo...can we be bezzies? Can I ask you loads of questions?: Do you have proper hope of a take home baby? Has your DP had his spunk spermz tested? Have you DTD loads every single month for the past 19 months? Or have you been lazy some months (I'm trying to establish why we have to wait soooo long for the odd golden egg Sad )? Did you have an erpc after your miscarriage? (I'm so sorry for your loss Thanks) Will you consider assisted conception at some point?

Did I tell you my baby was conceived using donor egg? ShockSmile

Cariad2014 · 21/01/2015 19:57

Lucie - so lovely to hear from you. I have missed you on these buses. I really hope the BFP fairy waves her wand your way over the next few cycles.

Thanks for the lovely message Genni. You have no idea how excited I am for you!

Sorry you're so unwell Frolic. I really hope you start to feel better soon. Sounds hideous. Flowers

lucieloos · 21/01/2015 20:03

Waves at Cariad and Bovny. Hope you are keeping well. I have been popping back every now and again to check on you all. I have found it easier not counting days etc although we are still DTD around the right time. Really, really hope there are lots more bfp's to come on this bus.

Hi to spinning too glad you have had good news with your blood testSmile

Mumwannabe82 · 21/01/2015 20:05

Hi mustbemad71, welcome to the buses :-) Can you add your stats please, the stats are what I posted not long ago so if you could do it in that format it would be great xx
Taking charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler is a fantastic book to read but if you have any random questions about temping then one of us crazy ladies can help you xx good luck xx

Bovny, I am astonished at the ignorance and laissez-faire attitude of these dickhead GPs. They make me effing furious Angry Why does your doctor think it is okay to simply assume that, because you have a child, there is no need to look into PCOS? Such shoddy care. Bastard. Not only that, but why is this doctor not concerned in the slightest that your cycles have reached ninety days on occasion or that they are consistently marathon-like? Please, please go back (or, better still, demand to see a fertility specialist) and demand your ludicrously-long cycles be investigated. Demand a printout of your thyroid result. Was it testing TSH?

These results belong to you, not just your GP. Tell them you want full and comprehensive day 3 and day 21 tests, including prolactin. How long have you been on Clomid and what dose? Are you being scanned and monitored?

The fact that you managed to get pregnant once simply means you were very lucky in that you had sex at the right time when you (possibly only once!) ovulated. No woman should have to put up with outrageously-long cycles with no knowledge of whether she ovulates or why ovulation may not be occurring. Bastards!

mrscatmad31 · 21/01/2015 20:08

On our way home from Jamaica, got another week to wait until af is due, going to drag :-( will be soo glad to be back home though!

PurdeyBirdie · 21/01/2015 20:09

Ah, I've re-read your post and see you've probably had all preliminary fertility tests if you're on Clomid. Yes?

mustbemad71 · 21/01/2015 20:10

My stats:

Mustbemad71 43, TTC #3, cycle 3, BFP due 27 Jan

mustbemad71 · 21/01/2015 20:13

Thanks so much mumwannabe (posts crossed) and huge congrats! I'll check out that book, your advice is much appreciated. Made poor DP shag 5 nights in a row this month and poor thing is exhausted - he's even older than me! Smile

PurdeyBirdie · 21/01/2015 20:13

Oh, and, Bovny, why should you be expected to settle for one child and to 'thank your lucky stars'? Don't feel guilty for wanting a sibling for your DC. Demand some help - it's what you pay national insurance for and taxes Thanks

P.s..don't turn down any more promotions; this isn't stress-related.

victoria401 · 21/01/2015 20:14

I need help! I'm really ill with a uti! What do I do?! Not got any cranberry juice in. Hubby bought me some of those cystitis sachets and I've only had one this eve so far. My tummy hurts, it burns and I feel all hot (temp normal tho). I know some of you get them a lot but I've only had one once about 10 years ago!

spinningirl10 · 21/01/2015 20:15

Thanks Lucie, it's good to see you and pleased to hear you're getting in plenty of action at the right time Wink I haven't been around here quite so much, trying to take a more relaxed approach!

Purdey, I think I did mention before that we're the same age but you may have missed it. It moves so quickly here! Dp is hopefully doing his sample tomorrow, he's been putting it off. He suffers sometimes from dtd on demand which can be hard for us both. I think we stop dtd too soon, we try and do it the 2 days leading to ov and the day I get a positive opk but then it often doesn't happen again until a few days after ov which is too late. Dp works shifts so it can be really hard to find the time Wink
My mc was early 5+6 so it happened naturally, I know this is classed as a cp but I hate that term.
We both try and stay positive that it can happen and we will get out baby. I've been on these buses for a while and I've seen quite a few ladies of our age get their bfps and go on to have healthy pregnancies. We have to think positive Grin

Ooh a donor egg, could you do that again maybe?

HariboBrenshnio · 21/01/2015 20:16

Lower back pain and a 2 hour nap because i was super tired. Symptom? At 5dpo? No?

Congrats to the BFP!! I wish you all an uneventful 8 months :)

catlady87 · 21/01/2015 20:16

Victoria - poor you. Drink, drink and drink more, but sounds like you need antibiotics if you're feverish.

My stats: catlady87, 28, TTC#1, cycle 3, AF due 27/01/15

Nervous83 · 21/01/2015 20:17

Thanks Mum! I got about a 1/3rd there at work today....such a list!! Good luck to anyone testing tomorrow x

spinningirl10 · 21/01/2015 20:18

Oh purdey, yes we can be bezziesGrin I think we're at the same stage in our cycle more or less. I'm 11/12 dpo, af due fri/sat. Also, yes we've had some crap months when dp couldn't finish but lately it's been much better. I've told him next cycle we really have to go for it, even if he's knackered and it's 3am!!Grin

PurdeyBirdie · 21/01/2015 20:20

Hi, mustbemad, I'm 43 too! I have a ten-month-old baby who was conceived via donor egg IVF. I am now trying naturally for a sibling, though the odds are tragic with only one working tube. The Toni Weschler book comes highly recommended but I suggest you start using opks and maybe chart your temperatures. Google 'Fertility Friend Charting' and take a look.

mustbemad71 · 21/01/2015 20:22

Thanks Purdey - oooh fabulous, 3 old birds incl Spinning! Grin

mustbemad71 · 21/01/2015 20:26

Purdey I do have a friend in similar circumstances who had IVF twins then another one conceived naturally. Her hubby ended up having the snip - after all those years trying! I really hope you get your BFP soon - you seem like such a kind and generous person supporting all the ladies on here plus making us LOL! X
