haribo I usually get a darker line than that for a positive but everyone is different. Like missmrsmummy says hope you haven't missed it and sending positive thoughts!

mumwannabe it's good to be positive -sounds like you have a reason to be!

I think I'm getting Ov pains so I'll test again in a few hours! We've DTD everyday since CD10 so even if I missed the surge on the OPKs I hopefully haven't missed the egg. Thank you! I thought it would be darker too.

PurdeyBirdie · 15/01/2015 17:26

I have a confession: Purdita (Purdey) is the name of my next baby if it's a girl Blush

Haribo, you have yet to surge, my love! I predict tonight at 9pm or 11pm in the morning (remember not to use early morning pee, as luteinising hormone is synthesised overnight and so will always give a false positive first thing.) Testing twice a day at approx 11am and 3pm means you will almost always catch your proper surge. Testing only once means you are likely to miss it.

I hope I'm not being patronising talking like this. I know everyone here is intelligent but some folks use OPKs first thing in the morning and think they've had their surge and so stop having sex too early.

Victoria, have you considered arming yourself with an AK47 and going into that clinic and shooting every receptionist in sight? Tarts.

Nervous83 · 15/01/2015 17:28

Hi ladies,
My first time on here! I've been reading through your posts and really want to get involved. Me and my DH have been TTC, this is our first month... My period in due on Sunday 18th I'm so excited to take a test! Been getting some symptoms but can't work out if I'm making them up! Lol stomach pains, weird aches in legs, white spots on nipples, white discharge, spot on chest, and the other day a weird taste in my mouth... No sore nipples though! Anyone else have similar?! Can't wait for Sunday!

PurdeyBirdie · 15/01/2015 17:43

Excited, a word of advice: get buying a pram.

ExcitedA3 · 15/01/2015 17:45

Haha Purdey... Don't want to get my hopes up! Sometimes I feel a little strange but other time I feel normal. Have felt a bit nauseous a couple of time too...

Sparkly123 · 15/01/2015 17:50

Purdey Grin can't wait until you start with the symptom spotting too!! Wink

Can anyone advise on tests- the little one step strips cheapie ones? What are your thoughts?? And can someone explain evap lines?!

MissMrsMummy · 15/01/2015 18:01

Sorry sparkly I must've jumped the gun a bit there! Hope AF doednt show and I can move you onto the BfP list!

MissMrsMummy · 15/01/2015 18:01

*doesn't

MissMrsMummy · 15/01/2015 18:04

Sorry nervous I will edit for next time!

MissMrsMummy · 15/01/2015 18:07

sparkly I find cheapie tests really good for ov testing as I like to do it 3x a day! I have been using them for months along side temping (just to make sure) and they are always accurate. Started out with cb digi but far too expensive with my habit!

I wouldn't trust the cheapies as a pg test though as they seem to give false positives

An evap line is a line that sometimes develops after a while and is greyish in colour, I'm guessing it's to do with the urine/dye evaporating? But some ppl can mistake it for a positive result. It's only positive if it's pinky in colour like the control line

Hope that helps!

MelonMelon · 15/01/2015 18:07

MissMrs thanks for the stats. Forgot to say my age (28)

Todays OPK was negative so no closer to cracking the mystery! Will dtd tonight so we've got it covered!

MissMrsMummy · 15/01/2015 18:08

Welcome excited those sound like good symptoms! I have especially heard of the funny taste - is it metallic? Good luck?

MissMrsMummy · 15/01/2015 18:08

Oops I mean good luck! Not good luck?

MelonMelon · 15/01/2015 18:12
