Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others.

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in!

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession.

Contraband = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture!

TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Not a bore at all, La Smile No FRER, my only stock are bog standard ASDA jobbies. Beggars can't be choosers and all that...

honeysucklejasmine · 04/10/2014 21:33

Wow, gaggia that's amazing! Grin

jellypi3 · 04/10/2014 22:01

I heard about some friends today who are expecting. Apparently they had been trying for 2 years and were told (at 22) that the guys soldiers weren't doing the job and that they would have to do IVF or adopt. They got married later that year and are now 5 months pregnant naturally :)

WigglyBraddins · 04/10/2014 22:04

Oh my GOODNESS!

I have a week off MN and you fill up a Fred with pictures of heartthrob McShane and put him in a thread title??????? That has soooo taught me a lesson to never abandon the JSers even for a day!!!

How are we all ladies?

Here's my bit for the role call:

Name: WigglyBraddins
Age: 35
DC: 2 yo DS and a killer cat but would love to own a springer spaniel (maybe when DS is old enough to walk it)
TTC: Since Apr 14. Mc in Aug and Sept.

So a week ago I had my GP appt. She is married to a gynaecologist and an excellent GP but has the worst turn of phrase. Post-DS she once referred to my "hideously distended bladder" but then did get me the referral I needed. Having asked a few questions this time she said "Well, the gynae lot would be excited if they'd been later mcs or if you'd had three but for now we'll just do some blood tests to see if your hormones are alright." So blood tests are booked for the week after next. The following day I volunteered at an NCT sale. I stupidly hadn't realised how upsetting I'd find it to be surrounded by pregnant ladies and new borns. I nearly wept when I was sorting through the maternity wear pile. Ho hum.

I had my first appointment with the reflexologist yesterday. She was lovely and it was a very relaxing experience.

However......DH and I have only JSed 3 times this month because after the third time the minging mouth taste returned. So I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant again. Can't test for another week, but even if it is positive, the last two cycles have shown that that doesn't mean a sticky bean.

I've missed you ladies. Group hug and big smoochy kisses all round!

callipygian00 · 04/10/2014 22:56

gaggia and lil those are amazing stories. Hugs to you wiggly, that must have been so hard, I think I'd have been in tears too. On my first day back to work after mc my first customer was shopping for books for newborns as she and her sister had both found out they were pg. I felt so guilty about being hideously jealous. Ugh, sorry for the depressing post, here's a picture to cheer you up! This is what my cat used to do, nutter...

gaggia thanks for sharing. what an inspiration. I'm trying to hang on to the fact I'm fine and stay positive about the ivf. its so daunting. stories like yours give me hope that if it doesn't work we have the option to carry on shagging!

lol at stealth cat!

wiggly glad you found us! try and stay positive. could be 3rd time lucky! gx Thanks

Morning viroids

Some inspiring stories thanks guys.

wiggly I do hope if you are it is a sticky one. Do you mind me asking if you waited for your hcg levels to return to normal before trying again? Fx x

I'm off to watch the horse whisperer do a display tonight and going to visit my horse before that. Looking forward to it but in pretty knackered.

Leela5 · 05/10/2014 08:18

My bleeding has finally stopped. Entering the wtf cycle. I'm going to track everything as normal but I'd like to get a bfn before dtd because I don't want to get my hopes up if I get bfp only to find it's from mc not being completely finished

TinkerBlue · 05/10/2014 08:30

la that sounds a sensible idea. I have everything crossed for your bfp asap x

Hi wiggly was wondering what happened to you just yesterday. Glad you found us, I hope this time is the time for you Flowers

chat I think there are a lot of hopes pinned on you, Wink gx

Great stories, gaggia consider me inspired!!!

Can I ask some advice? Last cycle was 30 days but they range from 28-35 ish. I have the cb opk to try x10 in the box. I also have some ic's. Should I do days 10-20 with the cb and if I need to use the ic's after? Or start with the ic's a bit earlier? Don't want to miss it!!!Wink

Leela5 · 05/10/2014 08:34

tink the average for 28 day cycle is icing cd15 but everyone's different and I discovered I iced cd25 when my cycles were long.

10-20 opk sounds sensible.

Wait to test 11-12 days after positive opk and cm

Leela5 · 05/10/2014 08:36

Crap sorry I mistakenly read ics as pregnancy ics not opk.

I would start cb opk 10-20 and see how you get on. You might not need ic. If no positive by 20 use ic

ChatEnOeuf · 05/10/2014 09:30

Widdly, your GP sounds excellent - I do like a doc with a sense of humour as well as duty Smile

Love Stealth Cat!

I think that sounds sensible La. Hopefully you'll have your cape back on by the end of the Fred.

Still no red tide, no symptoms either...bring on the unicorn tomorrow!

Leela5 · 05/10/2014 09:38

Fx chat!

WigglyBraddins · 05/10/2014 09:58

Morning viroids Smile

Chat I love that cat picture. Hee hee.

La in the two WTF cycles I've had I started counting as normal from the first day of my bleed, even though it was a very light bleed. I don't ovulation test, but I reckon that in both of these cycles I ovulated freakishly early for me...CD 13 or 14 in this one. Because the nurse in hospital told me I might have a 6 week long cycle, DH and I dutifully JSd every other night until about 2 days before I got my BFP. With both mc I waited until I got a BFN until we started JSing but I didn't wait for that to start counting if that makes sense. However, these mcs were only at 5 weeks and 5+5 so really very early.

I'm unsure when to POAS. Because AF would be due a week on Tuesday, but I feel so blatantly upduffed that I feel I really should be able to see a line sooner. I suppose POAS makes no difference to whether or not I mc again so I may as well wait.

Hope you're all enjoying this lovely sunny Sunday. I'm off to a nice country pub for lunch and am really looking forward to it. Not been there before. I'm hoping it'll have a decor like the pubs in Lovejoy and maybe there'll be a McShane lookalike in the corner. I'm going to have to work on DH to get him to accept Lovejoy as a name if this does turn out to be a bean and a sticky one Wink

WigglyBraddins · 05/10/2014 09:59

And biiig FX for you chat too.

Leela5 · 05/10/2014 10:47

Have a lovely day wiggly. If you're not feeling too impatient perhaps waiting to see what happens before testing might lessen the stress on your mind a bit?

I find testing testing testing stresses me out.

I'm excited, I'm going to see Monty Roberts demo tonight. Love it. Was meant to be visiting my horse too for a cuddle but it's been postponed.

Thanks for advice viroids. I'll continue to count from cd1 when bleeding started but test for hcg until bfn before dtd. I am frankly terrified in case I get bfp and mc again but I guess that's normal.

Cd7 today then. I'm trying to stay healthy and not go back to pre-pregnant diet as my pg diet was brilliant and made me feel amazing. Lots of greens, water and fruit, no alkyhol.

lildottie · 05/10/2014 10:57

I really feel for you ladies who've mc. it must be hard being overshadowed by all the doubt. stay positive ladies. we'll all get there eventually.

la I soo need to get back to a healthy diet. I'm at my heaviest ever (still normal bmi range but only just) and have woke up feeling really guilty about it today. I'm doing nothing for my egg quality for ivf! at least I've been fairly good taking my vits I guess. although today I'm stranded in the house with no car and have nothing but supernoodles and chocolate in the house! and no idea what we will eat for dinner!

really must study today. I was shit yesterday!

OP posts:
Leela5 · 05/10/2014 11:01

Ah, super noodles! Those were the days! I used to eat pot noodle every day for lunch.

Have you any pasta and a can of tomatoes lil? That's my go to food when all else fails, bit of garlic, basil, spoon of sugar, Worcestershire sauce, onions. Yum

lildottie · 05/10/2014 11:52

tomatoes yes pasta no. I need to do the shopping!

OP posts:
Leela5 · 05/10/2014 11:54

Hmmmm...plan flawed due to pasta shortage.

Leela5 · 05/10/2014 11:55

Just kicked Mr La out of bed to make me coffee and crumpets. Yum!

lildottie · 05/10/2014 13:04

at 11.55...I thought I was bad! can't beat Sunday mornings in bed!

honeysucklejasmine · 05/10/2014 14:23

I've decided I'm going to be virtuous this month regarding food. I'm pretty heavy (too heavy for midwifery lead unit delivery!) so it can't be helping.

I'm pretty good at healthy dinner (although not portions!) but i suck at lunches! What do you lot have for lunch? I need a complete overhaul!

DH and I are going to start having brekkie together so hopefully i can start having healthy oatmeal like him and not jam on toast! He said will i start taking him bacon but i think that might miss the point.

Any and all diet advice!! Chuck it this way!

WigglyBraddins · 05/10/2014 14:38

honey have you tried/do you work in an environment where it's suitable to make a huge batch of soup each week and freeze it in portions? Anything vegetable based that you don't put lots of cheese/cream in is good: vegetable soup, lentil soup, watercress soup, spiced squash soup, leek and potato soup etc etc etc. That and a big fruit salad makes for a healthy and tasty lunch and if you need carbs with it then some wholemeal bread or some rough oatcakes. I find a hearty soup filling and comforting, especially when it gets colder. And oat-based breakfasts are great! I make my own granola because then I can put less sugar in it than bought ones and it lasts really well. Or you can buy granola and mix it with normal plain oats. Porridge and bircher museli are great too. Or eggs. A two egg omlette maybe with some tomatoes and herbs and even a little bit of strong chese, like feta, is a great lunch or dinner.

Good luck with eating healthily Smile

honeysucklejasmine · 05/10/2014 14:47

Thanks Wiggly! I eat lunch at home everyday so that's not a problem but i do sometimes struggle to consider soup a meal! But if i bulk it up with lentils and the like, it might do! Thank you for the inspiration.
