I have one child who is 11, and who longs for a sibling. I am 32 years old & I have been trying to conceive since December 2013. I am ovulating thankfully, but seem to ovulate on CD18. My issue is that at 9dpo I start spotting and 10 dpo AF starts. I am on TTC#7 now, and I find the 2WW very difficult every month. I try to be positive and hope for the best, but on the other hand I try not get my hopes up too much, as it is so upsetting when AF arrives. I have had CD3 and 7 dpo tests done to check hormone levels...all of these have come back normal...My temps are really good too, so I just can't understand what is going on with my body. I also have been going to accupunture for the last 3 months. I am on CD1 today so hopefully this is the month I will conceive. Fingers crossed.Would anyone like to join me as I begin Cycle 7 TTC? x

Hi Ela88 I am on CD 8 AF just gone thankfully! Sick of it Grin! Yeah I was looking at Amazon too, and yes there are sooo many! Smile What make is yours? or can you give me the link of the one you bought? Thanks Smile..there was a lot of mixed reviews turning me off, so when you say yours is good! That's good enough for me Grin...

My stats are 36.0°C, TTC#2, Cycle 7, CD 8.

You should be ok on a cruise if you are pregnant...saying that I don't have sea legs & would puke at the best of times on a boat! TMI sorry! I have never been on a cruise, so I really can't advise you. xx We all need something to look forward to! Smile Nothing is impossible so hang in there xx

Oh I got it from eBay from the 'fertility plan' shop, it was £3.89 so thought I can't really go wrong even if it doesn't work! I have only used it a few times though so can't garantee it is accurate!
We went on a Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon a couple of years ago and when I filled in the forms and read the terms and conditions it kept asking if I was pregnant, so I'm not sure if you're allowed to sail if you're pregnant?! Maybe save that for when we have kids and can afford a Disney cruise! Xxx

laurano81 · 26/05/2014 20:28

Oh thanks for that! I will check it out...exactly for that price it is worth a shot! x I can check the normal digi thermometer against it to check Smile My DH has a mercury thermometer too & he wants me to use that so that I don't wake him in the morning! The one I have beeps when it has taken the temp...I try to put it under the pillow to lessen the sound! Smile. He does shift work, and sometimes has to start work at 5am, so he likes his lie in Grin!

Oh that sounds FAB! You both must have had the holiday of a lifetime! They prob wanted to know, in case you were miles & miles from the coastline & you had a medical emergency, pregnant woman are probably more at risk...heat, illness, pregnancy related issues etc...A disney cruise sounds Meeska, mooska Grin ...oh simply luscious! xx

Morning Smile

laurano 36.5°c , CD9, start of Creamy CM

I took my temp as normal @ 7.30 am…it was 36.1 on digital, but I tried the mercury thermometer & my temp was 36.5…DH said the mercury therm. is more accurate & doesn't wake him! I can't understand how there is such a difference between them Confused

I know they say pick a thermometer & stick with it! I will check with both again in the morn! DH is working early am ,so I can beep as much as I want Wink…I've ordered the basal one too, do can check that out against them too when I get it xx

ELA88 · 27/05/2014 19:58

Hey laurano
Temp this morning was 35.91 (only 0.02 difference from yesterday so must be pretty accurate!) had read all sorts of stories about the therms giving huge variations in readings so seems ok so far! My therm beeps too but DH sleeps through it I think! He hasn't complained yet!
Have a holiday plan!! Am going to wait until middle of June as that would be when AF is due, if there is no BFP that month then I'm booking a week in Cale Verde for Xmas! If there is BFP then I will book something earlier and closer to home! So it's a win win situation! Eek! Xxx

Ela88 35.91°c, CD 7

My DH must be a light sleeper Wink !! hehe...I guess once it shows a rise indicating ovulation & stays up...then it doesn't entirely matter Smile! Oh I wish you will get a BFP!!! A holiday could also allow you rest & get rid of stress! Maybe that's what you need to get a BFP! I think I need that too Smile It would be fab if you had both Grin! Yes! A win win situation! Sounds FAB!! xx

Hmm temp was 36.34 this morn, quite a lot higher than yesterday! Not sure what that means Confused have charted it on fertility friend anyway so will see what happens! Am going to start opk today too as my app reckons my cycle is 26 days now from 30! Just want to work out if I actually am ovulating after all this time!! Xxx

laurano81 · 28/05/2014 22:05

Hi,
My temp was 36.4°c this morning..CD 10..I've been feeling totally exhausted all day...so have been taking it easy since finishing.

Hi Cupcakequeen88, what CD are you today?

laurano81 36.6°c, TTC#2, Bike 7, CD 11 Creamy CM

Posting from my phone, so sorry in advance if there is any typos Grin

I am hoping & praying, that I ovulate early this month. I have been ovulating CD 18. I really hope I will ovulate CD 15/16. I just wonder if it will have any effect on my luteal phase..in other words will it lengthen it, as I am having 28 day cycles.

I rang the Doctors earlier & my results are in! Nervous TBH! I have to ring back at 2, so trying to occupy my mind until then xx

OP posts:
ELA88 · 29/05/2014 17:49

Hey laurano
What are the tests at the doctors for? Hope the results were good? Have you used opk? I don't know when I'm supposed to use them! Google said the best time is between 12 and 2, but there's no way I can do that at work, would it matter if I did them in the evening, say 6ish? I'm so clueless! Xx

laurano81 · 30/05/2014 07:53

Morning Smile

laurano81 36.4°c, TTC#2, Bike 7, CD 12 Creamy/watery CM

Hey Ela88 I start taking them from about CD10, just in case I ovulate early...they give an indication of the LH surge prior to Ovulation..I usually took them between 12-3, and again in the evening as I got closer to ovulation..the window of opportunity for catching the LH surge is small, that's why I tested twice in the day. I simply pop the OPK & a plastic cup in my bag & test in the toliet at work...no one knows the difference..the result comes up pretty quick..I use the True ones from Amazon.,..they have a little package that they come in, so I pop the opk back into that & into my bag xx The plastic cup I rinse & throw in the recycling after Grin easy peasy Wink xx

The tests were checking my hormones 10dpo, as I get my AF that day & it's too early....my progesterone was only 13.8...compared to 44.3 7dpo previously...I have a doc appointment this afternoon, so I will know more then xx

OP posts:
ELA88 · 30/05/2014 18:25

I got mine off eBay I think, they're called One Step but sound the same as yours. Did it this afternoon and there was a faint line but it still says it's negative unless both lines are dark. It's a bit more of a line than yesterday though! Does the opk tell you that you're ovulating? Should my temp drop just before I ovulate then go higher? Or does it just go higher? I've googled this and am still confused! Blah just seen my ex's holiday pics on fb of his gorgeous baby, has annoyed me just a little! Silly me!
Did all your test results come out ok? Xx

laurano81 · 31/05/2014 12:50

laurano81 36.4°, TTC#2 , Bike 7, CD 13, Creamy, watery CM

Hi Ela88 a faint line would indicate to me that the LH is rising...it should be darker today..I usually ovualate the day after both lines are pretty much the same colour as each other..apparently it indicates a LH surge, but can't be taken soley as proof of ovulation..many women report having a LH surge but no ovulation...Hmm..Your temp should drop the day of ovulation & then rise the day after the day after...indicating that ovulation has occured..MEH! Is right ...complicated! CM should go from creamy to watery then Eggwhite indicating most fertile cm..combined with ovary twinges/pain..all indicate ovulation..when you have your own gorgeous baby it won't matter! You are only human girl...of course when you see him with a baby, the thing you want the most, it is bound to hurt xx

I felt super frustrated when I came out of the doctor...he told me that I can't use blood tests to symptom spot! I was so insulted & I have to say I am pretty easy going...My DH always says he is envious of how things don't ruffle my feathers...but that really annoyed me...I have had 3 blood tests, and they told me to have them done...I did ask for the 10 dpo blood test, but just to prove that the progesterone was dropping way to early...long story but I went for colposcopy last year because I was having severe bleeding after intercourse...the GYN said she couldn't see anything..but sent my doc 1 letter saying I may need a D&C to clear out polps, cysts, etc...then she said another letter saying I was fine & didn't need a smear test for 3 years..anyway my doc sent off a letter asking her to clarify her position....I heard nothing for months & then in January I got a phone call telling me I was booked in for a general anaesthetic to have a D&C...I refused to get it done...I had been in Hungary in October after my wedding DH is Hungarian & I had an internal ultrasound there...my womb etc are all perfect...the Prof. there said I had side effects from the pill, a hormonal imbalance giving me an eversion on the cervix, which was causing the bleeding..he gave me some meds & I was perfect there after...so I couldn't see why they wanted to perform a surgical procedure for a hormonal issue...Angry! Anyway I have been waiting to see another Prof. of Gyn for the last 15 months, because my luteal phase is too short...the doc admitted yesterday that I have a hormonal balance, but I feel that they are trying to put me back in my box..that they are the doctors & I am the patient...alas all I can do is wait for the GYn...xx Sorry for the long post

OP posts:
ELA88 · 31/05/2014 16:55

Don't worry for the rant! GPs aren't in my best books either, for similar reasons to you except it wasn't a gyn problem! I has been having general health problems for a long while, culminating in me losing hair and having bald patches, when I went to the GP with my 'list' of symptoms I thought might be related, she basically called me a hypochondriac and really upset me! I was eventually referred to a dermatologist and now am under various consultants at the hospital! So it wasn't all in my head! That is why I need to change GPs!

That's really rude though that he accused you of using the blood test to symptom spot! I sometimes think that unless they've been in your shoes, and experienced the worry and anxiety all this brings, they can't pass comment! All they can do is offer advise and the right services!
Do you know how long it will take to see the gyn?

I didn't temp this morning because I overslept and leapt out of bed and into the shower so didn't want to do it after that! Xx

Hi Ela88 I am sorry that your GP was so downright horrible! Angry! I sometimes wonder why they become a GP in the first place! We pay them to help, but sometimes they look down on us! I would have been right fed up if I were you! I am glad you got the healthcare you needed...I had thinning of my hair in the front two years ago too…I lost two young relatives tradgically in the space of 8 months…the stress caused my hair to fall out, luckily where I could disguise it with my side fringe…my T4 was low too though at the time…I hope things are improving for you xx
Did you get a positive OPK? My ovaries have been twitching mad, so I am going to check tomorrow myself to see Smile

I don't know how accurate my temps are this morning, as I was awake until 5.30am with my son. He has a vomiting bug Sad, poor fellla...& to make matters worse my poor DH was no better Sad...I am lucky that I am ok at the moment, but I am shattered as I only got 3 1/2 hours sleep, and it was broken sleep at that...

Eggwhite CM almost fully stretching , so perhaps tomorrow if I have a temp temp it will indicate ovulation Smile! I would be great to ovulate CD16! Yay! 2 days earlier than normal Smile! FX

Hey laurano! Have had a busy weekend so didn't even come on yesterday! My temps have been pretty consistent but I didn't get a pos opk yesterday, in fact it looked like less of a line! Just done today's as only just got in from work! Had ewcm today too which is a good sign! Been watery for a few days so I'm assuming that's right? I've not really taken much notice of cm before!
Hair is growing back too which is good :-) xx

Davidtennantmistress · 03/06/2014 07:39

Those of you who bbt, my temp raised test am, although I now understand you should do it in bed at the same time of day, but whilst at work, I could feel ECM etc etc, anyhow decided to temp when in at 4, and had a major dip, from 97.45 in the morning to 96.8 now it's 97.73 again, would that suggest ov occurred yest afternoon? Likewise, can I actually get pg if I have such a short window like that, seems to be about 12 hours ish.

Had positive cb test yesterday, but bloods previously have said fsh is 14.2 and no ov.

Hi Ela88 do you think you ovulated so? Perhaps you did but missed the LH surge using the OPK! It's a great sign that you have EWCM! I have it still aswell...I got a +opk today, & I feel like I am ovulated at the moment..I have the pain in both ovaries but more sore on the right side...My temp was 36.3 this morning so it went down again...hopefully it goes back up tomorrow & I will know that I have ovulated today...CD17 Smile Fx xx

Hi Davidtennatmistress welcome Smile...to be honest temp goes up & down during the day depending what you are doing etc etc...you will have to check in the morning really to get the correct Basal temp....I took my at 2 today, just to check & it was 36.5°c! Then I took it just now, as I was relaxing after work Brew & it was 36.3°c...I could take it again later & it prob will be higher again...we DTD every 2 days then when I get waterly or eggwhite CM we do it every day , as the sperm has to be there to meet the egg Smile, we also do it on the day of O, & each day for two days after that...the Fertile window starts a few days before Ovulating...so you should try to DTD during then as the % chance of getting pregnany is during that time up to when you Ovulate, and for around 2 days after...depending on how long the egg survives x

OP posts:
ELA88 · 05/06/2014 18:32

Hey laurano yeah I think I missed the LH surge, was late home from work the past 2 nights so didn't even bother doing a opk. My temp this morning was 36.35, up from 36.12 yesterday so do you reckon I ovulated yesterday? Xx

Hi Ela88 have you had dry flaky discharge on your underwear...sorry for asking it's just my acupunturist said that is a sign you ovulated the day before...if your temps are above your coverline for the follicular phase then I reckon you did ovulate Smile!

I doubt I will get a BFP this month Sad,...my DH & DS were sick with a vomiting & diarrhoea bug...we dtd every 2 days up til Sat...then DH was sick Sun & Mon ...DTD Tues...ovulated yesterday Weds...hubby snoring at 8pm, as he was working at 5am...then he was working today at 6am...& low & behold snoring his head off again at 9 pm...I put DS to bed & came down to find him asleep on the couch! He is still there! FFS puked tbh! What can I do! Hopefully DTD Tues the day before ovulation will have worked..I'm gonna try & wake him now, but I doubt there will be any action! He is working again tomorrow at 6am! I am nervous all the same that it wasn't enough & not getting my hopes up this month...Also I irriated down below Tues..another blow to my TTC#7! Thrush! making it very acidic & not good for sperm...Sad Sad Sad...everything went against me this month! Hmm I am still waiting for my basal therm! Sad! Hopefully I will get it tomorrow! xx

Ooo I don't know laurano I didn't check, it was more creamy yesterday than anything else. My temp today is 36.51 which is the highest it's been all cycle so I def must've ovulated on weds, which would've been day 14!
There's always a chance one of those strong swimmers has bypassed the illness and got through! As I was always told at school "it only takes one time to get pregnant!" (Not entirely sure that is the case with me though!!) xxx

PS I'll join the other group too :-) x

MrsPoppet · 07/06/2014 14:15

Hello :) I am a bit late to this thread but ttc #1, hope you don't mind me joining in. I have recently downloaded the Glow app which I am finding really useful and have realised timing is everything! Up until now everything has been very ad hoc and 'oh it'll just happen at some point' but it hasn't, so time to get a bit more scientific. I'm keen to start temping, just wondering if you guys use digital thermometers and/or can recommend one?
