TTC First Time - Anyone else?

My husband and I are TTC! I have been off the pill for a month now and have started taking folic acid and calcium with vit D to ensure if anything does happen I'm as healthy as possible. Limiting caffeine and alcohol but not cutting it out completely as you never know how long it will take! All my friends have just fallen pregnant really easily, but I have a feeling this will not be the case for me. I can't remember when my last period was either which is annoying as will need to wait for the next one before I can chart etc. Hmm Is anyone else out there TTC now? We could all share our stories and encourage each other! Smile

It is mad indeed Gem. My sister took 2 yearsnto conceive, yet a friend of mine fell pregnant the 1st cycle...just seems like total pot luck!

Katy - I'm hoping that stress doesn't have too much of an affect, though like Gem, I've heard that it can.

Gosh, ok I am going to de stress my body if not my mind!!! So so nice to have people going through the same, it's so reassuring as I just don't want to have these conversations with friends and family as they then spend their time watching for signs that you are preggers.

Morning Gem, I'm on cycle 1, CD 23 (9 days post ov.). Although this is my first cycle I'm acting obsessed like its my 20th...sad really.

I've been using the Period Tracker app for about a year now as I was hopeless at remembering when my period was due, even though my cycle is dead on 28 days (I could never remember when my last period started either). It's a good app and now I use it to track my most fertile days. It only gives an estimated times but at least it gives me some idea. Or probably something else to obsess over.

Like you I was initially questioned if this was what I really wanted, as I guess I'd become used to our lifestyle as it was. However, both myself and OH recognise that we are not spring chickens any more and that if we are to try for a baby it was now or never! He really wants a baby and now I am coming up to AF I realise that I am wanting this just as much as him (though he is far more relaxed about everything).

We are off out this afternoon and won't be back util late. Hope i don't get too jealous when I meet up with his sister in law.

Have a fab day out with your hubby :-)

Hey Gemerama and Durhamred so nice to met 2 people just like me. Your both thinking exactly the same, do we really want it, or is it social conditioning, and gosh well it's now or never. Hubby and I think we want it, but we like our lives to.
Durhamred this period tracker sounds good, I haven't got my head around cycles at all. Can you use from coming off the pill?

Hi Katy - I can't see why you can't use the app after coming off the pill. It's a good app for keeping track of your cycles and will help give an estimate date of ovulation in relation to you cycle length.

I used it because I was hopeless at remembering when my AF was due and didn't really know my cycle at all. It's definitely a handy app to have :-)

Excellent I've downloaded now and will defo use, it looks great - thanks for the tip. Hubby is now sick of me telling him all the things we have to do... Think I will have to careful telling him to much. Do either of your other halves take suppliments?

My OH takes boots conception support vits but that's about as far as it goes. I think if I started giving him instructions for TTC he'd think I was obsessed, so I have to be careful. I was surprised he was happy to take the bits tbh.

Sounds like you both have relaxing days planned. We have my OH brother staying over this weekend and as we were out most of the day yesterday, we have a relaxing day watching films planned.

Gem - I will be testing early (probably tomorrow or Tues) but I'm not feeling optimistic that it will be a BFP.

I know what you mean Ikkleme, it just seems to be pot luck...so frustrating! I'm trying not to symptom watch as some pregnancy symptoms are also PMS symptoms ( of which I usually suffer), therefore I've convinced myself this month is not my month. [Sad]

Gosh I have all crossed for you Durhamred, ikkleme how annoying and certainly hoping to be one of those women that fall quickly but I guess you just never know, I'm officially counting the days now till I finish the pill and af is done. 11 days today. Yippee
