Lady- glad everything seems to be ok now, must have been an awful scare. From reading stuff on here in the past it seems like it can be relatively common to have a little bit of bleeding though.

Hazel- any update from you?

I'm sure I'll come back to rereading all the maternity clothes stuff when it's my time :)

Lolly84 · 03/04/2014 18:27

Wow I am completely behind with this convo, can't keep up. Hope you are all good.

Helen and misskgb I agree with everyone BMI is so stupid. I am just on the healthy BMI and would like to lose a stone to feel really happy with myself. The point of it is being way underweight and way overweight can make it harder to conceive. In saying that I know someone on the opposite side of the scale who is extremely overweight who has managed to conceive by mistake. When I say extremely I am talking about 8 stone. All we can do is try and be as healthy as possible.

Hazel nearly the wend of the week! how's it going?

Only thing to report here is tiredness, got a lot on at work. Normally work in excess of 50 hours a week. Can be flexible as manage my own diary. I have early nights but get to 4-5 and feel like I could nap. I am going to let my boss know when it starts to effect what is expected of me. I am hoping to get to 12 weeks before telling anyone. Eek x

misskgb · 03/04/2014 19:23

Hi lolly. Yh it can't be that bad, it only took me 3 months to conceive! Told my boss today as we're recruiting coaches for a summer event n ive been counted but won't be allowed so felt she needed to know, in addition to my recent stressing! She was great n has promised to keep it to herself until my scan

Fx this is day 1 of no more morning sickness-its killing me! And ive not needed a nap! They say the placenta taking over around 8 weeks eases the strain on the mum to be so hopefully thats what's going on n its not just a random good day!

mrshjb · 04/04/2014 13:51

Sorry autocorrect went a bit crazy with your name then!

misskgb · 04/04/2014 17:09

Haha, yes 8 and 3 days already! I ate seconds at lunch today-miracles!! :-)

Excellent news, misskgb - I genuinely hope this is the end of the grimness for you! I wouldn't wish the nausea on anyone!

Thanks for the info, Gennz - now that I've got your good review there's no reason for me not to invest in those jeans. Wink

I hope the rest of you girls are well and that you've got nice weekends planned x

weebairn · 05/04/2014 07:18

I agree BMI is stupid. This is why I never weigh myself. I wear a size 8/10 (more 8 these days) which in my eyes is quite small?? Though I am only 5'3". At my 12 week scan they weighed me and I had a BMI of 25, which just sounds nuts, I am a small person. But I do have tits, and I do quite a bit of exercise, so maybe some muscle (not as much as I had pre-baby!) Or maybe I put on lots of weight in the first trimester? Or maybe I'm kidding myself??

Anyway I am 14+4 now and my trousers are getting a bit tight. Think it's time to embrace the pregnant shape! My bras are still fitting, but again not quite as comfortable as they were. I have some "bump bands" in the cupboard which are quite good for the in between stage. I was a late bump-developer last time, and was expecting it early with a 2nd, so am quite pleased I got this far in normal clothes, mostly because I just didn't want to tell work… I haven't decided when to tell work. Maybe end of APril, I think I might be showing by then. We'll see.

mrsh My SIL has a BMI of about 17 and conceived 2 kids no problem. She eats MASSES. I think if you are naturally that size and not restricting food, and have periods, it's not likely to be a problem. And sometimes being overweight can make conceiving harder, but most women manage fine.

Lolly84 · 05/04/2014 11:04

Oh ladies I have been doing something really stupid... I have read up on it and everything is fine but panicked for 5 mins.

Before conception I was really crap at taking the pregnacare vits with folic acid. So when I found out last fri I took them consistently. So in my head when I read them it said take one with every main meal (which would be 3 a day) as I was running out I went to tesco last night and got pregnancy ones which are very similar and read the instructions it said 1 a day with food. I wondered why they were different and compared and I have stupidly been taking far too many of the pregnacare tablets. I have been having too much folic acid.

So reading up and your body gets rid of it if it can't take it. The only danger it can have is to mask a vitamin b12 deficiency. Have text my nurse sister incase she has any thoughts. So I have went from hardly any folic acid to too much. Silly me.

misskgb · 05/04/2014 20:53

Oh lolly!! Has your sis said its ok? The nurse is making me take higher dosage of folic acid. Just picked up prescription. Can only take it til end of 12 weeks. Im already 8.4 weeks n they've given me 3 months worth?! I don't know! !

Massive back ache today :-( def a tmi question but need other opinions......anyone found themselves 'wet' when pg? Not sure if its cm or a bit of urine or both but also not sure if its normal? ! Help ladies!!

OP posts:
Lolly84 · 05/04/2014 21:16

Yes she said it was fine. She said some people need to take 5mg never mind 400mcg. Hmm wonder if they want you to take it for longer? I really am a numpty.

I have constant cm, felt a bit wet yesterday. I am sure it will be cm for you and normal.

I am finding it hard to stay away from drinkers this weekend. DH's family always get together at weekend and asked DH if we can give it a miss as don't want any pressure. He was a bit miffed, not sure he quite understands.

binkybunny · 05/04/2014 22:35

Evening all. Just had my second night out since bfp feeling quite chuffed and def feeling better at last!

Yes to the constantly wet. Apparently its normal and I have considered panty liners its do bad some days... Or Tena lady as retching has caused a few Blush moments.

I asked my mw about the folic acid. If the supplements have vit D you should keep taking them throughout pregnancy and the folic acid wont do any harm. Since 12 weeks I've kept forgetting but need to try and get some in me as I cant renember the last time I saw the sun!

misskgb · 06/04/2014 07:24

Ahhh k thanks both. I'll check with her what she wants me to do then in case I am supposed to take them longer. These are 5mg ones :-(

im considering panty liners too-its such a strange pg thing to have imo!! Haven't told dh about it-he's sometimes scared to touch me as it is atm!

Morning everyone, hope you've all had a nice weekend!

Lolly that did make me laugh a little bit about the extra vitamins. I can't imagine what the colour of your pee must have been!! Glad to hear it doesn't cause any damage or anything though.

misskgb I can't believe how long you've been pregnant for now! time is really really flying! I've definitely heard plenty of people say that being wet is perfectly normal. It was one of the reasons I thought I was pregnant that time. Restrospectively it was probably my hormones going crazy, just not the pregnancy ones!

weebairn thanks for the bmi advice. I've just decided to have some healthy days and some cheat days and then take my vitamins too. Hopefully can't do more than that!!

binky glad you're starting to feel better now :)

No real update from me. Ewcm and temping seem to suggest that I'm about 5dpo now. Keeping my fingers crossed but will just have to wait and see what happens. If no AF by the end of next week, that's probably when I'll test because it's the best thing I have to go off. Apparently if your temperature starts to drop then you can presume that AF is on her way, so if that happens as well then I won't bother to test and will just wait for her arrival! Would put me on a 36 day ish cycle, so could definitely live with that. But just trying not to take it for granted that I did OV!

chillychicken · 07/04/2014 13:44

Erm, hello.

So, I'm here in disguise. I've roamed some other boards/threads in this disguise but it's taken me a while to get here. A relative (and a friend! Damn MN being so popular!!) also use MN and I was a bit worried they would spot me, hence the name change and the subsequent worry of outing myself with a new name as well, in fact I'm still worried about this but here goes

A clue for you: I don't have blue eyes.

And I'm thrilled to tell you all that late last week the word "pregnant" showed up on a digital test Grin I'm 4+4 today (I think)

mrshjb · 07/04/2014 13:51

Haha love the new name and the fact I can now publicly congratulate you!!!

KikiThePea · 07/04/2014 15:05

Excellent news! Congratulations Grin

chillychicken · 07/04/2014 15:29

Thank you H Grin Have everything crossed for you!

Thanks kiki! how are you getting on?

mrshjb · 07/04/2014 16:38

Thank you :)

Lolly84 · 07/04/2014 19:09

Congrats Chilly wondered where you'd gone!! Xx

binkybunny · 07/04/2014 20:36

Yay chilly have been wondering about a bfp! So exciting :-)

mrshjb · 08/04/2014 08:12

Morning everyone, now I am thinking I am possibly in the tww again I am starting to think about possible signs and symptoms. Sooooo can you all give me some of yours please?! I know everyone is different but it's still interesting to hear!!

Lolly84 · 08/04/2014 10:50

Got everything crossed for you Helen.

The only symptom I had in week 1 was heavy sore boobs like I would get the last few days before AF. It was quite instant. In early week 2 I had a real need for diet coke from the tap instead of a bottle or can. I made a special visit to mcdonalds for it without food which was bizarre but desp wanted it. The closer I got to AF time, I started to feel a bit odd mood wise and couldn't sleep very well. I got out the shower 2 days before AF due and felt faint and then the feeling faint went on from there and has now gone.

The 2 things that stood out that something was going on was heavy sore boobs and feeling faint. Hope this helps x

Lolly84 · 08/04/2014 10:53

Pregnant ladies, talking about symptoms, I am at the beginning of my 6th week and not experience sickness just little dull aches stretched in my uterus. Kinda starting to get worried I am not having many symptoms. My boobs are still heavy and hurting and I'm extremely tired. I think I am going back to disbelief that anything is happening. What's your experiences at this stage? I have my first doc app in the morning and anxious that he says I'm not pregnant even thought I did 2 tests with strong lines. I may be being daft but it's a long wait until the scan x

chillychicken · 08/04/2014 11:53

Thanks all! Grin

H my first symptom was 9dpo (negative test, FMU) but as the day progressed, I had a wave of nausea hit me, then extreme tiredness. Took my bra off and my boobs were unbelievably sore. Then nothing until 11dpo when I started to get pre-AF cramps, bloating and a lot of spots. Tested that evening and had a faint positive.

Since then my main symptom has been cramps. I ended up having to go to bed Saturday afternoon as they were so bad. Still there today but not as bad.

Otherwise, I've been quite thirsty, boobs still sore but not horrendously so, my nails are in a terrible condition - really unusual for me, and I've gone off some food. I'm nowhere near as hungry as I usually am either. I can't stomach the idea of chocolate or anything too sweet. This isn't a bad thing as I wanted to start eating better anyway. Few waves of nausea but nothing too bad. Quite a lot of discharge too which I wasn't expecting. I am only 4+5 though Grin

Lolly I'm wishing the weeks away so I can get to 12 weeks. I haven't tested since Saturday (tested because I was so crampy, I was convinced I'd imagined the digital pregnancy test confirming I was indeed pregnant) but I've got a few ICs left so I'm going to test periodically over the next few weeks because I am mental
