HURRAH!!!
Phoned clinic this morning and I'm booked in for mid-cycle scan and jab in 10 days.

Also mentioned (?!) that I was still waiting, after nearly a year, to see the consultant.
Got an appointment at the end of Sept.....only one more cycle then I get to see him...

I am very pleased.

Can any one tell me what CLOMID is please?

coggy · 14/08/2006 14:52

I feel very wise answering all of your questions today Babymad!!! (Although the answers may not be strictly accurate - just what I know/think!!!)

Clomid is a fertility drug traditionally given if you aren't ovulating. It's called something like clomefene citrite (?!)
It also appears to help in lengthening the luteal phase (the time b't'n ov and AF).

It seems to be often given in cases of unexplained infertility where other checks have shown nothing conclusive.
HTH.

Excellent news coggy.

coggy · 14/08/2006 18:03

Thanks Natty...it was the scare of being told that I was going to be dragged down there if I didn't phone!!!!!!

I would actually have made the appointment even if I'd got my bfp this month because I am going to need to know what to do in the future if I want more children and can't have clomid again.
Also I don't think you can have IUI/IVF on the NHS if you already have a child...although I could be wrong.

I'm on the IUI waiting list (although I will double-check when I see the cons.) and I think there's another 5 or 6 months for that.

Natty1806 · 16/08/2006 09:25

Welcome happyhippy - i am not yet offically in the clomid gang but will be once AF arrives.

Excellent news Rachee - fingers crossed. Think it is the first time i have seen someone on here get a positive on a Ov test on day 14 - very text book.

Rachee · 16/08/2006 11:08

LOL.... not on clomid this month..... clomid can make you ov late. so a good text day 14 is great. especially after m/c.

was feeling very low this morning, now i realised ( after eating) must have beeen a pmt moment ) LOL..... so much less obvious than when i was on clomid.

So oodles of bed sessions over the next few days... LOL ( TMI)

xXx

Welcome HH

Also welcome to all th e newbies. I dont think I have posted on here in a little while. Its not showing up in the threads I am on.

Hey Natty, did you see your gp yet?

I got my clomid. Pills are 50mg even though I was onyl prescribed 25 mg. Am half considering taking a whole pill when the time comes as am so desperate to con and want a bfp before xmas. Its very naughty I know... I hate the idea of cutting those magic pills in half!

Natty1806 · 16/08/2006 12:20

No, not seen gp yet. See him Friday morning. My letter say's i will be on 50mgs

coggy · 16/08/2006 12:29

Hi Natty....I was wondering where you were - I haven't seen you for ages!!!
What CD are you now?
Waiting for that 'magic' prescription I guess!!

Rachee....we don't want to see you around for a couple of days do you hear??!!
Get in that bedroom......!!!!!!

Afternoon Ladies

I can now officially join your gang!! Been ttc for 13 months. 21 day blood test says not ov'ing so saw gyne for 2nd apt yesterday and she has given me 100mg for three cycles then 3rd apt in Nov if stil no BFP. AF arrived this morning so will be able to take it tomorro.

Can anybody give me any tips or words of advice about taking it. I'm trying not to get my hopes up that this will work but gyne seemed positive as my 2 day test was normal. HSG was clear and DH's test was higher than average!!

Natty1806 · 16/08/2006 17:28

Hi coggy

Cd22 for me so like you say just waiting for the magic beans.

I have been popping in daily to have a quick read but i am trying to cut down how much i long on and chat, not that i don't enjoy talking to you lot but alot of people hear go quiet and then come back with a BFP so thought i would give that a go. LOL

x

coggy · 16/08/2006 18:22

That sounds like a plan Natty!!

I think it's the lack of ossession that does help!!

I am on here ALL the time at the moment cos of school holidays. If DH is at work I can't resist having a quick peek every now and again!!!!

It'll all come to an end in Sept!!!!

OP posts:
coggy · 16/08/2006 18:22

I haven't seen Trace for a while either.
Have you?

OP posts:
Artoo · 16/08/2006 18:23

Welcome Sally and the other new ladies.

Sally, the only advice I have on taking clomid is to take it in the evening before you go to bed, to minimise side effects.

I'm still hanging around, CD17 today on my 6th clomid cycle. Wrote a letter to my consultant to ask him to see me as soon as possible to talk over some of my concerns about just being abandoned to take a further 6 months of clomid with no monitoring. We'll see what comes of that.

Hugs,
Artoo.
