Rachee · 26/10/2006 18:37

( at least i got my mood swings sorted this month, took clomid in the evening, so no side effects. just the odd hot flush)

Natty1806 · 27/10/2006 08:14

Yeah i take clomid in the evening and only suffer with hot flushes, i do get really bad ovulation pains. x

Rachee · 27/10/2006 22:50

i have been feeling like i have been kicked in the womb all day , and been very snappy. ( day 12 so should be going for it) but i am in too much discomfort to think about it ! bloated and sore. So guess tablets are a watste of time for me if i can't eve get to third base on them !! LOL

xXx cd12

coggy · 28/10/2006 09:07

Shame that you're so uncomfortable.......I think I must be VERY lucky as I don't seem to get any side-effects from the tablets at all.

Did you OV before you had clomid Rachee?
I wonder if your OV is painful now Natty because you weren't before maybe???????

I'm going to have one more month on them next cycle (a day away it feels!!) but I don't know whether to book in for a hcg jab or not..........the problem is that I don't know which bit helps!!!
Probably end up doing both for one last fling!!!!!

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 28/10/2006 09:49

Yeah that might be why coggy, i do feel very uncomfortable too rachee, but the deed must be done. x

I would have the jab as well, you have nothing to lose after all. x

coggy · 28/10/2006 11:33

I prob will....I'll look at what shift's DH will be on cos sometimes it's useless with the timing!!!

Yes, Rachee.....no pain, no gain.......these things have to be done y'know!!!!!!
LOL!!!!

OP posts:
coggy · 29/10/2006 14:57

Okay.....so here's the choice...

AF came today......CD1

If I have a hcg jab it'll be around CD13....DH is working late shifts so BDing will be hard (not impossible but tricky.)

If I don't have the jab then OV will be around CD17 when DH has a few days off work so BDing will be much easier.

So...jab or no jab...???
What do we think.............???!!!!

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 29/10/2006 15:47

No jab.

coggy · 29/10/2006 18:23

Okay one vote for no jab!!!

Now all I have to decide is CD1 - 5, CD2 - 5 or CD2 - 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
coggy · 29/10/2006 18:28

Not quite the information I was hoping to find on the Net!!!!!

Clomid info - prepare yourselves!!!!

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 29/10/2006 19:23

What did you gooogle to get that? men taking clomid whatever next. x

Rachee · 30/10/2006 10:09

i wonder if it gives them PMT ! LOL....

xXx cd 15 ( and bk like a rabbit today and yesterday ! TMI) but fingers crossed......

Rachee · 30/10/2006 10:11

I don't mind the no pain , no gain theory...... as long as i AM getting the gain !! LOL

xXx

p.s. i vote for the jab coggy.

Hello! Long time no post on this thread (got a bit down in the dumps with the whole thing, tbh).

Wondering how people are doing from about 6 months ago, any happy stories anyone can tell me about?

I'm going to try and keep up with this (loooong) thread a bit more regularly now - just to recap, I'm now on my second round of Clomid, I finished 6 months of Clomid in Aug with no success. At my last appt with consultant after the first course she decided to put me on the list for a L&D (this was in September), I was annoyed that she hadn't done this 6 months earlier, as a L&D worked for me in 1999.
Now have appointment for second L&D for Jan, and am now on month 2 (CD6) of yet more Clomid.

A 40th birthday present in january of a L&D wasn't quite what I had in mind, but if I finally get pg it will be worth it!

HopefulDreams · 30/10/2006 21:26

Hi everyone! I took a couple of weeks out as I found I was becoming a bit too obsessed. I was really excited last month with two large follicles, done a test on day 26 it was negative and low and behold day 27 was the start of my next cycle.

Just finished 3rd cycle of clomid and got scan today - 2 follicles again, 17mm and 19mm and got my HCG injection so guess I won't be on here tomorrow night.

Seems as though we all get different advice over the country, I take clomid days 3-7. Always get a scan on days 11 or 12 and on same day get the HCG injection.

Rachee, I also get very bad pains around ovulation and can normally tell what side the follicles are coming from.........weird. At least we know everything is in working order even if it is sore.

CP.....really really pleased to hear your news. Congratulations!!!

x

ccpink · 31/10/2006 22:07

I'm still lurking around as still no AF. Haven't even managed to take a pill after all the excitement of getting them I'm now sick of it all Day 40 tomorrow!!!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 06/11/2006 22:19

Sorry did noy update this thread

I miscarried last week at 5 weeks.Gutted.But as I was only 1 week late and bleed was like normal AF I just started back on the clomid again.

After all It worked 1st month for me and I have also started accupuncture so feeling optimistic

Artoo · 07/11/2006 07:00

I want to say a big "welcome back" to HopefulDreams and Jodee - it's very nice to hear from you both again

Peanut - I sent you some hugs in another thread, but have some more! The good news is that you CAN get pg, and I'm sure the acupuncture will really help this cycle!

As for me, had a great holiday in Vegas, but AF arrived to confirm our IUI didn't work (we weren't expecting it to with dh's sperm result), so as soon as I can get hold of my nurse we'll be progressing the ICSI option. My consultant said it wasn't worth my while taking clomid in the meantime, so I'm having acupuncture to prepare myself, trying to eat healthily (and perhaps lose a bit of weight), and de-stressing as much as possible.

Hugs,
Artoo.

coggy · 07/11/2006 07:36

Fantastic holiday I guess.........I forgot you were going to Las Vegas...........!!!!

Sorry to hear that your IUI didn't work.....I know you didn't have great expectations but you always have that bit of hope don't you?

I saw the news last night and there was a 45 year old medically infertile woman who was trying for her 14th child!!!!
She never OVd so had clomid for every one.
Why am I only allowed six month's worth then if she's had so many years worth????!!!!!!

OP posts:
Natty1806 · 07/11/2006 09:57

Yeah i am only allowed 6 months worth and 12 months in the whole of my life.

Natty1806 · 07/11/2006 09:58

Sorry CP - didin't mean to ignore you then, big hug from me. x

Artoo · 08/11/2006 12:48

Clomid prescriptions seem to vary wildly from doctor to doctor. I know my consultant would happily have had me on clomid for 12 cycles, but many others seem to stop at 6 months.

There is good evidence to show that if clomid is going to work for you it is most likely to work during the first 6 months, so after 6 months it's more productive to move onto different treatments. I suspect that's why so many consultants stop after 6 months.

And OMG! 14th child?! The mind boggles.

Hugs,
Artoo

coggy · 08/11/2006 19:15

And she looked really young and healthy!!!!!

Green face was NOT for the 14 children...........t'was for the young looking woman BTW!!!!!!

CHUNKYMUNKEY · 09/11/2006 10:57

Hi, Would like to say good luck to everbody. I hope i can join this thread. Have been trying to conceive for 2 years, i have a 5 year old dd. I am not ovulating and i have quite long cycles. I have been given Clomid to take just need to wait for my next Af.

I have been given 6 months worth of clomid to take and i have to go for a blood test on day 21 but apart from this it doesn't seem like i will be monitored.

Is this normal? I have to see the consultant in six months time and that is it. I don't like the thought of being on this medication and not monitored. Is anyone else in the same situation?

Natty1806 · 09/11/2006 11:57

Yeah i am, had 21 day blood test, confirmed i was now ovulating. But that is it until I see my consultant again like you after 6 months. Good luck
